This movie is basically suicide squad. SPOILERS Its a group of psychologically damaged fighters who for some reason are our only hope to fight a other world being that should be able to kill them instantly but doesn't. The first third awkwardly introduces a bunch of characters. The second third is a walk-and-talk to rescue a character that gets kidnapped anyway later. The last third is where the reshoots and bad edit throw this movie over a fucking cliff where the villain become vulnerable for some reason instead of using any of its abilities it demonstrated earlier. And the movie ends with a cliffhanger to set up for a sequel that we'll probably never get. Like LITERALLY suicide squad

The 2016 draft of the script, even worse than the final cut, is on avpgalaxy for your reading displeasure. When it became clear early on that Arnie wasn't having it, there were two alternate endings conceived (which is where the pod came in) involving either Ripley or Newt having *time-travelled* to save us from the (bad) Predators. The Newt version was *actually filmed*, complete with facehugger-shaped breathing mask and WY logo. The terrible Iron Man suit was a late-game reshoot after someone sane presumably pointed out that this made no sense and wasn't sustainable for a sequel. The whole project was batshit nonsense from start to finish, including the whole 'emissary' predator subplot with tame predators in BDUs riding an armoured vehicle.

My biggest complaint about The Predator was that it built up Sterlng K Brown's character, the human villain of the movie, as this devious asshole, and that him and Boyt's character were gonna have this face-off, and then he dies in a stupid way, and its filmed so quick that I didn't even realize he was gone until i noticed he hasn't been in the movie for several minutes. Like, seriously, I thought he was gonna show up after the ship crashed at the end, not realizing he had already been dead for the last ten minutes of screentime. And the fact that I had to read the movies wikipedia page just to find out exactly how he died, because it was edited so fast and dark...Very anti-climactic.

The Predator was just an $80m cocaine fire. Bad, bad movie, but it was pretty entertaining being drunk in a cinema with 200 confused and outraged people constantly exclaiming with exasperation. Really felt like there was a Shane Black movie in there but it was completely hacked to pieces by the studio so none of the dialogue fit together how it was intended. Makes me think of the anecdotes from Kevin Smith about producer interference during The Death of Superman. "Did you know that autism is the next link in the evolutionary chain?" "I don't think that's--" "Put that in the movie." "But--" "Put it in the movie. Also what if the Predators are trying to evolve themselves? Put that in too. That and the weaponised autism."

The Predators altering the8r genetics with human DNA is so goofy, the exact opposite of how Predators have been portrayed for decades.

It was never meant to be a saviour in the pod, a leaked script had a completely different ending with hybrid monsters in the pod and the studio clearly changed the ending to tease a sequel, and the new ending sucked balls. I'd bet money that after some time Black will admit that was not the ending he wanted but he can't now while he's trying to sell the movie.

I think we're too familiar with The Predator for it to be a horror movie now, we know what it is and can do. It works better as an action movie now, I liked most of it but the ending was wack.

Of Aliens and Predators... it’s all canon until FOX says it isn’t. FOX hasn’t. David NEVER explicitly states he created something that didn’t exist before. It’s implied... but NOT stated. Therefore all of the Alien and Predator films exist in the same continuity. You don’t have to like it. I hate Alien 4 and to a lesser degree Alien 3, but they are still in. I choose to ignore them. Anyone can ignore AVP or AVPR if they like. However, nothing explicitly stated in the Prometheus and Covenant films invalidates them. It’s all canon till it’s not.

The entire anticipation of a shane black predator movie felt like being constipated for that long and when it dropped..the film was shit but i didnt!!! U feel me guys Been waiting yrs for a follow up,,,this one is like watching predator 2, for the first time,with a big wtf is this reaction,,but after a yr or 2 u,start liking predator 2...Preadtors was underated and was more darker and one toned film, The hype for this was its down to basics with an evolution theme,,but it ended up buggered up in my opinion.Some parts were excellent,,but most of it was convoluted with diffrent types of sub plots,,editing was the worst and the cheesey music belonged in a indiana jones movie.Ending felt like it was out from a iron man 3 scene..NO WAY DARK ENOUGH,,AND WTF with befreinding a predator dog!!! THIS HAD POTENTIAL,,FAILED IN SO MANY LEVELS,,maybe after a yr or two i will love to like it,,,right now im PISSED OFF!!! i hope the blu ray release has extended/ directors cut version,,as the editing and thread of this film never develops properly!!! what a chance missed,,should have had arnie in some role,but even his role which was scripted was too short,,hence he withdrew from it,,in hindsight a good move. Rodriguez did a better job with half the money! Here's a novel idea for it too work..why not get the original story writers and directors and producers to do the new one..hell im sure there still alive...derrrr! I liked The Predator. It was funny with decent action. I just wish the Predator vs Predator fight was more drawn out and badass. The epilogue was cheesy and the glorification of Autism by saying it’s the next step of evolution was kinda weird

The whole predator/alien shared universe is fuckin confusing. Still love prometheus and covenant if for nothing more than David's story, and the whole world-seeding idea established at the literal beginning of the film. I'll fight. Heh. But yeah. Fuck AVP in general. Not only is it canonically contradictory but it just made the predators look like dipshit stuntmen in costumes. They didn't even move right. Serious lack of lurking. But that's just me. ..
