My dad absolutely loves a show quite similar to that called "To catch a contractor" where to two hyper-masculine men insult people who took money from clients and leave without finishing what they were hired to do.

Without getting too far into it, the glorification of “hot teachers” seducing STUDENTS is actually sickening here. These videos are a whole new level of problematic. (Oh, and literally trying to normalize & make that Muslim man seem like a murderer. Great.)

What mother thinks her 16 year old daughter needs help “trusting men” and a reality show will teach THAT?

Being Muslim myself, that Cheater episode with the Muslim was just fucking disgusting. They don't bring up the religion of any of the other cheaters, so why mention they're Muslim? There was a clear agenda here and it wasn't just exposing a cheater, either. 😒 Also, "Muslimhottie69"? Lmfaooooo they didn't even try.

It’s not “outing” to say that a boomer marriage is unhappy. They take every opportunity to let people know they hate their spouses.

I can't even imagine the type of Islamaphobia the original video's comment section garners Cheaters can be from any religion, of course, but it depends on how the situation is presented. The situation was scripted to be as scandalous as possible, dangerous even. I don't even feel like I have the language to describe how gross it is to do that, but I guess the most shocking plots are what get people to click.

I know it's not real, but if we pretend it is, some of the premises of these are really fucked up situations to put these people in, even if it's just an actor messing with them, which these people if it were real would not know. Like, tricking some girl into what she thinks is a real job interview and pressuring her to kiss a guy for the job, a very real issue, would be insanely not ok. Same for the teacher hitting on the highschool boy, also a very real issue and one that is subject to a horrendous double standard when it comes to female teachers and male students. I know it's fake, but just conceptually.... if it were real, this shit would be so fucked up to do to people. JFC.

I find it a bit funny that Chris Hansen is in a video like this, when he has been caught cheating on his ex wife on multiple occasions, according to a lot of articles on the internet

I feel like the only reason they put the woman's response in the script is so that she could present her Muslim husband (and Muslim marriages in general) as inherently sexist and awful. They still had Chris Hansen "calmly" responding to all her criticisms of him and I don't think the audience is meant to react like "oh you're right, this is a shitty thing they're doing here."

I’m so confused about why the girlfriend was smiling the whole time through the first video. Like he’s actively downplaying their relationship and it makes her smile, like she’s genuinely pleased. It wasn’t even that she was smiling when he said he had a girlfriend and then wasn’t listening when he said they were more like friends, her smile got bigger as he said they weren’t serious. The reaction was literally “aw he doesn’t think our relationship is real and thinks this woman is better than me :)” It made me think like I was mishearing or misreading what he was saying. Especially when she looks so sceptical about him saying he can drive, like she’s upset with the rather mild innocuous stuff while smiling at the completely awful untrustworthy stuff. In context this is someone who already didn’t trust her boyfriend, she supposedly came here just to go through all the effort of testing him, and yet when she’s proven right is when she suddenly has a change of heart? Like this is someone who clearly didn’t give him the benefit of the doubt previously, and yet when her concerns are right in front of her face she turns a blind eye. It’s completely nonsensical, I can’t comprehend these writing decisions. Makes me think it’s supposed to be a “haha, teenage girls and their mood swings, they just can’t make up their minds !!” thing

In Brazil theres this prime-time television show called “loyalty test” (teste de fidelidade)that has basicaly the same premise as “to catch a cheater” (they only work with grown adults though, never with children thank god), except its extremly sexual and they constantly put the actresses playing the mistress in demeaning siituations. Its really terrible, and I contantly throughout this video I kept associating the two shows.

There is a power dynamic in play that has to be taken into consideration, even if the kid was supposedly 18. I just thought I'd mention that a lot of schools don't even have sex ed anymore, and if they do it's very basic and probably isn't going to help you much in thr future. I took one health class in 6th grade and we didn't discuss sex at all accept really briefly go over the different parts of the body. That's the only class I ever took. Sex ed is actually pretty rare from what I can tell, at least at all the schools I've been to (I moved around a lot in school) since most ppl that I knew hadn't had the course. I don't know the statistics or anything, but I have heard that because schools are no longer enforcing sexual education, there's been a lot more spread of disease as well as accidental pregnancies. That's just stuff I've heard though, and stuff I can see from personal experience, but like I said I didn't look up statistics or anything.
