Update: They’ve actually done exactly what I wanted & added villager home customisation to New Horizons! I’m so happy! You can now decorate your New Horizons villagers houses with the Happy Home Paradise dlc! 🏠💗✨
I feel the same way! Personally I think that In wild world the villagers had a much better personality system where they would all have different hobbies & favourite things which made each villager super unique. & It’s a shame how with each game, the villagers conversations seem to have got more boring. 😔💕
@@ChicagoMel23 the hobby system in wild world was completely different. in new horizons the villagers hobbies are just what you see them doing while they’re not talking to you (for example: reading about flowers, exercising, running around in circles.). in previous games the hobbies included walking, fossil collecting, bug catching, fishing, fashion, gardening, seashell collecting & home improvement. their hobbies also affected villagers conversations which we don’t get in new horizons other than snooty villagers commenting on your outfit which all the other villagers do anyway. the content of their homes could change depending on it, & what they wear & what tools they’d carry may change aswell. i do like the hobbies in new horizons a lot, seeing ruby reading flower books or singing in the plaza makes my heart so warm!! 💕 & I think it really does make the villagers ‘appear’ as though they have hobbies & ‘look’ alive & unique - but when i speak to them, it unfortunately has no impact whatsoever. in wild world they would always talk to you about what they’re interested in, & their hobbies weren’t pre-set, they would even change hobbies the longer they lived in your town. so it made every villager feel much more unique to the player. that’s just my opinion though~ 😊💗
My biggest complain is that none of my villagers have beds and only like two of them have some sort of chair or sofa to sit on, I feel kind of bad for them :( 🦩
it makes me feel so bad too! no matter how many beds I gift them, they never display them either! I’ve gifted ruby at least 4 different beds, all different sizes, & she hasn’t displayed any of them 😭💕
that does not bother me at all - i view their homes more like a display of their inner world - or somehow like a kid would decorate their room - and most of them don't think very practical. I also decorated my home that way so maybe that is why it does not bother me.... and they are animals after all ;-)
The fact that Flora's old house is a literal room that shows her personality and depicts her interests and hobbies while her house in NH is simply 🦩✨ F l a m i n g o P a r i d i s e 🦩✨
I have flora on my island on nh, her house is pretty similar to the older one shown in the vid! I’m not sure why some floras got the short end of the straw but my flora’s room is pink everywhere and has an adorable bunk bed!!
@@heyitsemma3187 if it looks like this pbs.twimg.com/media/EUZTyHqUUAIN4za?format=jpg&name=large then that's because she's one of the first villagers you invited from island tours and those villagers have the earlier basic homes the same as others of their personality type, as opposed to their unique homes later villagers you invite will have. The video also shows this at around 10:45 mins in. So it's not her canon home but it is definitely a lot better than what they decided to give her!
In fact they focused so much on outside improvements and terraforming that everything else got rushed and / or completely scraped. That's why the game feels so shallow once you're done with decorating the island. Actually NH is probably closer to HHD but for outdoors than a real animal crossing game.
as a lover of animal crossing since I was a kid there's sooooo many problems with this game. Many characters are missing like reese, cyrus,Brewster, gracie,Phyllis, pelly, pete, broker, cooper. there's many fruits and furniture series missing and the villagers are so bland in this game. i also agree with u 100% of this video. I want them to just add so much stuff to the game so it feels more like older animal crossing games. also when u put down custom designs as pathways i wish it made noise lol
I wish we had all this stuff too!! I’d also love the option to have a stereo app on our nook phones so we can change the games soundtrack to ones from previous games. the new horizons soundtrack just doesn’t do it for me. & i love the idea of sound effects on pathway designs, it would make islands feel so much more alive! 💗✨
To be honest I feel like they just wanted to bring on new fans look how many people started playing new horizons that didn't play pass games which I don't have a problem with but..it's so many things missing from new horizons
I miss Pelly and Phyllis so much. Especially Phyllis. She was actually realistic and would now sympathize more than ever with the community, because we all grew older and most of us hate working nightshifts too. Now we have unrealistic and annoyingly cheerful Isabelle...ugh.
welcome to the nintendo hell pit where consumers are so brainwashed they'll literally thank a million dollar company for doing the bare minimum and being greedy af.
Honestly! The beginning is so well made and shows what they could do and then it just stops... I'm assuming they realized at that point they wouldn't have time to do more because they were being rushed to hurry up and finish the game and at the pace they were originally going it would have taken longer which the higher ups most defiently couldn't handle because ugh we want money! 😐🙄
i don't even talk to my villagers anymore because they all have the same dialogue. i wish Nintendo would add more dialogue at some point.. it'd be amazing if we could customize our villager's houses like in Happy Home Designer as well,, neither the villagers nor their houses have any personality 😔
This spoke volumes. I completely agree with the personalities being too much if the same. They don't have their own unique personalities. And as for the home design I absolutely love that idea. It gives us a chance to design their homes to how we see fits. I hope nintendo can change this. I think its a great idea!! 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
Ah I’m so glad to hear you like this idea too! I think it would also just be a great way to introduce old characters like Lottie, Digby & Lyle, & I honestly would spend hours decorating my villagers homes!! ☺️💝✨
My theory about New Horizons is that it was created to be a design game and not a game that follows the old style of animal crossing, which is living among animals, getting to know them and helping complete tasks for them. It's like they have turned the villagers into collectibles to have on your island and not as companions like they used to be. 🦩
Yeah, I feel like animal crossings main gameplay aspect is definitely moving more towards ‘designing & decorating’ rather than the ‘collecting things, relax, & make friends’ aspect we always had in previous games. I completely feel the same way about the villagers seeming more like collectables than companions, it’s so so sad. at least we still have the older games to go back & experience i guess! 💗
And the design aspect isn’t even that great furniture wise, at least for me. I miss a lot of the old furniture they cut out. What I wouldn’t do for some gracie grace furniture again
@@withering.chariot3720 I miss the lovely furniture and the regal furniture. And I kind of miss when you would put wallpaper on the walls and it wouldnt get rid of the Windows -_-. In my new leaf i would have a room with a shoji wall and cicadas and it looked awesome in the evening.
yes! I grew fond of so many of my villagers but I also want to meet new friends.... the struggle. It would be great if we could use our Nook Miles tickets to buy house plots as we please....
i don’t understand why they made the starter villagers homes so basic and not just give them the houses they were supposed to have. also i hateee how they changed some of the villagers house designs. like shep, his home used to be cabana surfer theme and now it’s a crusty dusty southern cabin bruh. like HUH??? where my surfer dog go
I guess because it was intended that you'd give your starter villagers furniture to decorate their houses with and also because as the story progressed Tom Nook had more funds to give future characters more for their new homes... I stopped gifting my villagers anything but clothes I wanted them to wear when they started only giving me the same 5 items... The old games' gift giving system was a lot better.
You're the only person who I've seen acknowledged that the developers of the game we're very rushed and overwhelmed. Thank you. I totally agree with everything you said. Remember how we use to have the flea market so we could buy our villagers ugly furniture and basically remodel their house? I miss that. Edit: your island is amazing and the giant cherry blossom tree at 15:30 is just wow. How clever
Omg yes!! I remember the flea market! I loved that feature in old games!! I’d go fishing the day before & fill my whole house with red snappers to make a ton of bells! I miss that feature too. 😊 & thank you so much, you’re so sweet! 💗💗
I want more fun activities with my villagers; my villagers tell me they went hide and seek by their self. I like it on new leaf your villagers wants to come and play with you and they come to visit you in your house.
this is exactly why i haven’t played in months. it isn’t worth checking in on your villagers when they say the same thing to you every day. even if you don’t have duplicates, playing for more than a few days gets you exhausted of the same dialogue
I was so disappointed in this game, I got Harry in my town, I love Harrys house in particular (in New Leaf). In New Leaf his house looked like an old retro 1980's Japanese public bath complete with the little plastic stool to sit on and the mount Fuji murals along the top of the tiled walls, now in New Horizons it's just a plain tiled room with a towel on the floor and the only 2 outdoor baths available in the game just sat there. It's depressing. I love Chops because the first time he came over to my house in New Leaf even though I hadn't decorated it yet he told me how it was great because there was lots of room to make arts and crafts and we should get out the paints, his home was light bright and full of regal furniture with a grand piano in the middle of the room. His New Horizons room almost looks like a padded cell in comparison and he has not once offered to do a collage with me. In short newcomers to the series think these villagers are "ugly" and it breaks my heart because they will never get to know the old personalities which made them shine.
Chops is one of my favourite villagers, and I especially like his interior design in New Horizons. However, I'm aware of the massive amount of hate he gets.
I miss the way that villagers used to talk so much. I loved to hear Portia tell me about her boyfriend in Animal Crossing GC, or the time Hornsby painted my roof pink without my permission and didn't even feel bad! I went back to play city folk recently too (didn't grow up with it but did grow up with wild world and they're basically the same so) and I was having villagers spread rumors about each other! I especially loved the time where I walked into Bones' house and he randomly just, like, decided to shove all his furniture to the right side of his house?? There's a certain type of charm that came with the villagers being their own people. Can't say the same about new horizons though. Maglev Mike, I guess.
I miss all of that so much too!! I had so many unique & funny experiences with my villagers in previous games just like that, & unfortunately villagers were not treated the same in new horizons 😔💗
I think it would be really cool if for Nintendo online, you could fly to a Shampoodle island and get special hairstyles and wigs and colors that you can't get from nook stop, and maybe a place with a new npc and they can make photos of you and your friends for bells, like how the villager photos look!
Omg! Your happy home designer idea is so good! I hope they'd implement this. Cause at least then the boring villagers would have nice houses. That might incline me to visit them again.
Butch has been my favorite villager since Animal Crossing way back on the Gamecube. He has always had a modern themed house that made me imagine him as this artsy, cool dog who is a bit of an audiophile. Now he is an old man with a literal barren desert for a home. (T-T)
Poor flora, they turned her home into a zoo habitat :(( My biggest complaint is tasha's house!! I was so annoyed to find the drastic change in her house interior style! I know the hair salon furniture no longer exist in acnh, but the new dark style was still a shock to me. Her new thunderstorm wallpaper like baabara's really aggravated me. The constant rain and dark interior made me not want to visit her anymore.
I do feel like the villager personalities is one of the weakest aspects of Animal Crossing these days. Also I agree some of the homes are so strange, they don't even feel like homes anymore because they're missing things like beds or places to sit down. I hope in the next game they put more of a focus on villagers, I think they deserve to be fleshed out more.
I thought it was really sweet that you spoke so kindly about the developers. The rushing development and quantity over quality is a huge problem, and I really hope that over time they amend these issues. I also love your suggestion about being able to design villagers houses, that would be an amazing addition and I kind of hope someone from Nintendo sees this.
I personally see the new house interiors as a double-edged sword. On one hand, I like to think that it gives us a little bit more about the villagers like what do they like, what are their hobbies and where did they previously lived. For example, I like to think that Pashmina wants to own a diner or actually likes that aesthetic. Sure, it is weird if you actually seen her previous house in New Leaf, but I like to headcanon that they have more than one peculiar favourite is that aesthetic. On the other hand... Yeah, some villagers really got the short end of the stick. Sorry, Flora... Normally, I would just leave it at her because it pretty much speaks for itself, but there are two particular villagers that bothered ME (while not as bad as Flora or others, but these two are my favourites of their respective personalities so this kinda hurt me.) First off, Chrissy. Okay, by itself, Chrissy's room isn't that bad. In fact, it fits perfectly for a Peppy villager who always wear a pink My Melody-esque hood. But then, you look at her previous houses and you could see that there is SO much more variety. I am talking hearts everywhere, rosy wallpaper, pretty, bright clothes for her to wear. It was cute. And the more you actually look at Chrissy's house in New Horizons, the more bland it looks (and the more it starts to hurt your eyes. I like pink, but let's face it. It is TOO much.) Having her sister's photo on the wall is cute, but even then, her bed covers most, if not, all of it. And DON'T even get me started on my boy, Pierce! Okay, so Pierce is a Jock villager so naturally, you would assume that his houses will be related to that. But no, his houses... Look more like they were made for Snooty villagers. No, really, his Furniture set is all from the Regal series. Even his house in New Leaf, while dumbed-down due to the lack of Regal furniture, still looked like a house a Snooty villager would live in. Also, his home request in Happy Home Designer is a "classy" training set and his preferred style in Pocket Camp is elegant. In other words, Pierce is a Jock, but he is also a prep! So what is his house in New Horizons? A bog-standard children's "boy's" room. In other words, a standard Jock villager. Pierce... May talk like other Jocks, but his hobbies say otherwise. And it's not like Nintendo just forget or something. His favourite styles in NH is Active and ELEGANT and his default clothing is a tennis sweater. And I couldn't think of a more-appropriate article of clothing for him! So why did they double down on their room... Sorry for ranting, but while I am willing to defend some of NH''s staff's with some of their changes, even adding them to my little headcanon, there are definitely a few villagers where they took a step back on. Again, like I said, it is a double-edged sword, but while it is not completely bad, your Happy Home Designer idea would make things MUCH better.
I'm so glad Flora was one of my first five villagers bc the inside of her house is so much cuter because of it. I didn't even know her actual interior was so sad :(
the world will be 1000 times better once people realize that you can criticize things you absolutely adore. like pointing out the flaws is what shows you care because its shows you're paying attention, i love to see different ac veterans insights on acnh just because SO MUCH has changed
Nintendo doesn’t need to update the villagers interiors (that would be way to much work) but they do need to give us the ability to completely customize our villagers houses interiors and exteriors.
you’re so sweet. i’ve been talking ish on NH ever since it came out 😭 we care about this game so much. we just want it to be the best it can be. the updates don’t excitement me anymore. i have no problem letting villagers leave; i don’t have any special bonds with them which makes me so sad. that was my favourite part of the game. there’s sooooooo much i don’t like about NH but villagers are such a huge part of this series. so i’m sorry to be negative but i do feel like, how could they have messed that up SO badly? wish they were allowed to work on it longer.
Every single time you eavesdrop on their conversations, they will always have a boringly polite conversation that fixates on their arbitrary personality label. They get into fights, but you’re simply never allowed to witness it go down and you get maybe two lines of explanation, which makes it feel really flat. Let villagers interact pls, let them have some *flavor*
Thank you for this A+ content! There were a few villagers I was really excited to get but it was their houses that really put me off. The houses really did zap the souls from their personalities. Aside from the popular agreement of needing much better interactions with them, the houses also need improvement. Having the option to change that would be amazing.
I absolutely agree. Villager homes and their general theme and inspirations matter a lot to me. So every time I’d villager hunt I would look them up, and as soon as I’d see their old homes compared current to their current ones, I’d be disappointed and less motivated to take that particular villager. I also have to say that some villager homes are too similar. Buzz and Keaton both had different houses in ACNL but in ACNH their homes become almost identical parking lots which don’t really reflect either of their personalities or interests imo. They lived on my island at the same time in ACNH and I’d always get mixed up as to which eagle’s house I visited that day.
i agree with all of this completely. im a new animal crossing player, new horizons being my first, but not even after like five months of playing it i just got tired of talking to my villagers, since they all say the same thing, and after i got my island reset and got the majority of my previous villagers, drago auto-filled one of the starter plots and his house- bro. his starter house is literally a log cabin, while he’s a chinese dragon; you see his exterior house matching with his culture but when you enter his house you see a depressing, log shack, with a colour pallet that doesn’t even match him at all. also i found an odd pattern of villagers having their starter houses being very similar according to their personalities, like with peppy villagers; i got flora as an auto-fill for starter houses, and when i saw her interior housing, it was really similar to chrissy’s and i just felt disappointed lmao
I have been playing since september 2020 and had no idea at all about this initial house fact !!! My first villagers had and have (for those I kept) ugly houses, sometimes even identical, and I was like "Well... The developers were just lazy. That's pretty sad." My Merengue, my favorite inhabitant of the game, who had a sublic house in ACNL... I had so much pain as her house is horribly impersonal !! So thank you so much for learning me that 😭💕 Also, I had exactly the same idea as you about a Happy Home Designer in ACNH !! There is so much potential in this game, I'm sad that there is so little updating 🥺
Personality wise I completely agree. I’ve got Merry and Rosie, both of which I adore but I can’t stand having two of the same species with identical dialogue, so when Rosie wants to move I’m gonna let her leave cause of this. So sad. I’ve got another gripe and that’s with how villagers will haphazardly display your things. For example with Merry I like her house and for some reason her couch gets replaced with a flower which makes me so sad (didn’t know flowers were displayed). Not only would your solution fix this but it will allow us to properly decorate for our villagers. Completely agree and love it!
i 100% agree with you. my FAVORITE villager in the whole series of the game was my starter villager. his name is sly and he’s perfect, but yeah i was so excited for his really cool house with all the tree and bush cut outs and awesome wallpaper and flooring and i just became SO disappointed when he didn’t get that. i ended up moving him out and getting him back through a mystery island but it’s still so sad
🦩 actually i am super happy with the starter villagers homes: Megan (normal) has a very simple but cozy home: pale blue wallpaper and simple wood furniture (instead of the super intense honeycomb wallpaper) and Al (lazy) a dark wooden home (instead of a gym). I personally think that fits their personality much better then the designed ones.... I will never let them leave as well! I love them both so much! But it would be amazing if we would be able to help them decorate their homes just as we helped them find the spot for their tent - it would be so much fun! One can hope!
that makes sense!! while making this video I realised that if you were to get Erik as one of your first few villagers, his house would look way more cozy & like the way it did in previous games, instead of his ice house you’d get if he moves in later. sometimes those starter house designs look way better than the house Nintendo designed for them. I’d definitely love pashmina with a starter villager home rather than an ugly red cafe, & the same goes for flora with her flamingo exhibit! 💞
Also YES to the happy home designer aspect! That was SUCH a fun game and felt more like animal crossing than new horizons does! Yikes!😔 i was also wondering if they would make a happy home designer 2 at some point!
Lyman was my starter, I didn't know him before, I love him so much, I was so confused about his house. I did my best with Lyman's house, gave him lots of plants and bamboo furniture, I like what I was able to do, but he still deserved better.
when i was a kid playing wild world i fell in love with a villager named chow. hes a potentially psychopathic pink panda bear (try saying that 5 times fast), and he was really mean and i didnt like him at first. but then everyone else moved away, and realized i had taken him for granted. i clung onto him because he was the only one who stuck around for all those years. he was always this grumpy old man with very conservative ideas, and his house made the 'elderly chinese guy' thing even more obvious. in new horizons, his house has nothing but bamboo. because panda. and for some reason, hes into karate. and he doesnt berate you for gifting him colorful cute things anymore. and i dont recognize him. and it just makes me wanna go play wild world because at least when he was making 5 year old me cry, he had a personality.
oh no i’m late! i’m only half way through, but i get your point! i actually had aurora autofill on my island and she’s a sweetheart! i agree with you, in saying the only thing in her house that matches her personality is the calm stale cupcakes music 😔 and i have two normals, two peppys, and two lazy villagers 😭 you can imagine my disappointment at how they always say the same things
Aah that’s so so sad!! I would probably have multiples of the same personality type too if it wasn’t for the repetitive conversations. The dialogue does improve a bit after you speak to them like 4 times, but that means reading through normal villagers “I can smell my dads grilled tofu” or “I should call my parents” conversations for like 5 whole minutes ahaha! 🥲💗
@@louloucrossing yea! i find it especially hard with normals because skye is my favourite right now and i feel so sad that she says the same things as the others
i think such a major part of the whole super intense villager trading system in new horizon is because if all of the villagers of the same personality types are going to say the same thing, why not get the one that looks the "best"? When it comes down to it, none of them actually have a true personality distinct from others, which makes it so much easier to simply want and seek out cuter, prettier, "better" villagers.
I think it makes sense that they cut some things out when the game was rushed for the release date, but its been a year. Im sure ppl wouldnt mind if they updated the houses to match the personalities
That happy home island is such a brilliant idea omg! Also I definitely agree with pretty much all your points! I'm happy the algorithm decided to show me your channel :D
I had this exact same problem too,Phoebe is my starter villager and she had the ugliest house, but her superior version house is a literal badass lava place, and I don't want to risk the chance on letting her go and trying to get her back.
I have Flora on my island and I'm so lucky she moved in as one of the early villagers you had to make furniture for. She actually has a real room and it fits pretty well with her personality! When I first looked up what her actual house would be like I was so shocked. Flora will NEVER leave my island, she will stay with me and have the home she deserves
NH is my first AC game and after the hype of the first few months I got super sad when I realized Timmy and Tommy would never be coming out of their shop, I would never get to really meet Isabella... The only people you can really talk to is Sable and sometimes Mable! I love the charm of the beginning of the game (I recently restarted) and when I had to make the shop I took my sweet time because I knew I would be locking them up. It's so incredibly sad to me that even a first time player saw early on how rushed this game is, without even really knowing the contents of the other games. I love story lines within games and I wanted to play this game for the charm of having friendly neighbors and for the story of my own island, not just a bunch of props... I have adhd so it's hard for me to be on task long enough to even decorate a part of my house let alone an entire island! So that throws the charm of decorating out the window, don't get me wrong I love it but it's not enough considering I wanted this game for its story charm and not just for decorating. I have a theory, I don't blame the developers at all for this but rather Nintendo and its higher ups. If you think about it, in the beginning of the game you have story and charm but then after a few of the upgrades it just stops... Why? When the developers first started working on the game they had plenty of time to do what they do best... But then as time went on they had to rush because of demands from the higher ups to get it released quicker stripping the game of its charm because they didn't have time to add smaller details like we love and rather focus solely on the bigger features so by the time they were done there was no time to go back to adding it's charming making the later game seem like a base rather then a completed project. I've been debating buying a used ds and just getting new leaf because I want to experience this franchise's full charm and I doubt I'll even get to do that with New Horizons. 🦩
I would love the idea of decorating villager houses. My favorite villager, Nana, had a pretty mermaid theme house in NL and I loved it. Now, she has a basic boring house with no personality. Now that they added the mermaid furniture in the game, I want to decorate it in the style of her old home (excluding some pieces still not in the game), but she doesn't put the furniture in her home. So if we had a HHD in NH that would be perfect!
tank and phoebe were my starters and i love them so much i'm never letting them leave. i really hope they can change the game and let us update their ugly starter homes.
100% agree with all the points you brought up! When it comes to villagers interior designs and personalities, it's like we gave 10 steps back and started walking behind New Leaf 😭 Also it's heartbreaking that you'd feel like you can't say your opinion thanks to people who think you can't criticize the things you love... 😭 The video was amazing, your points were all extremely valid and you didn't lie about anything, PLEASE voice your thoughts! And rip Flora's house, she was done so dirty 😭
I have Flora, she was the 3rd villager that move in to my island and she has the start house..i think it suits her better that than the "flamingo display" 🦩✨ your island looks so pretty little Lou Lou 💜✨
I think the look they went for for Flora is to have it seem more natural since flamingos live together in groups and Nintendo wanred to reflect that within Floras house
Oh my gosh, I agree with everything. I just got Tex who is one of my faves because hes a cute African penguin. His catchphrase is picante referencing heat since these penguins live in warm climates. It's what makes them special. His house? A freaking ice palace. I was so disappointed. I want Flora too but I am not looking forward to her house 😅
Oh my gooosh. Finally someone is talking about the fact that the starting villagers never get their real interiors. I got rid of my absolute favorite villager just so i could get her with nice house. Its been a week tho and i cant find her again
I completely agree! I met my 3 favorite villagers in City Folk and skipped to New Horizons. I think the biggest downgrade I've seen is Caroline. She goes from having a fun and colorful surfer themed room to an office. The change is jarring.
They clearly put all of their time and resources into the island renovation mechanics and ran out of time for the details that give the AC series so much personality. As well as, this game looks so much nicer than previous games that they probably bit off more than they could chew in terms of asset design, with the hundreds of bugs and fish and sea creatures included. I think that’s why there are so few fossils and no gyroids. I feel like the fact that they have stuff like a cafe and the ability to invite villagers to your house already programmed in but just not active means they probably just didn’t have time to make all the assets and mechanics for things that could be ‘expendable’.
I agree so much with this video TuT I had Erik in my new leaf town and when I got him in new horizons he had a ice themed room! Not a cosy wooden house like in new leaf TuT it made me so sad, he reminds me of the cosy ness of winter not the cold TuT🦩
I agree. What I find hard is that the villagers can talk to each other but not to me. Not really. Not enough options to respond, and emotions are not words. We pass a few sentences and they walk away. I know, it's just a game.
Fun fact about Pashmina, half the time her house is just a sad wooden-block one. It stinks for people like me who love her so much to see her disrespected and only given a wooden-block style house. I would literally prefer the over the top diner to a half empty shell of a house. (Yes I do have her on my island, and yes she has the wooden-block house.) edit: she was nit one of my starter villagers
That completely makes sense!! This is why I think we should have the option to help them design their homes, especially our starter villagers because they just deserve so much better 🥺💞
yeah, like right now I'm having a moral dilemma while trying to decide if i should let our first jock leave and then try to re-invite him. The only reason I'm considering it is because his house is so empty.
Every word is so true. They are taking the popularity of the game for granted and neglecting thinking they have done enough and it's ok cus more people are playing .
I'm on of those veterans that have been playing this series since the Gamecube Days and that has turned her back on AC NH by now. I played each entry of the series basically years and i was done with NH in like three months. Too much missing and with every update, where long datamined characters are still not there i'm more and more done with the game. I've set my eyes on a couple of other games that release/d on PC soon or have been there for a couple of months that fix that hole. Guess that's the only good thing for me: The Success that NH had made it easier for other similar games to be released and i'm really looking forward to some titles.
I’ve been playing since wild world but went back & played the gamecube game afterwards, & I completely understand why you have turned your back on the game. It’s such a big change of theme & feeling in new horizons compared to previous titles, & sometimes it can be really heartbreaking. I hope you can find some other lovely games to bring you joy in the meantime, & if not I hope you can go back & enjoy the older games~ btw I’d recommend playing cozy grove! It’s a very lovely game & has nice & classic animal crossing vibes with really sweet little bear characters! Maybe you’d enjoy it 🥰💗
@@louloucrossing It's not that i don't like some aspects of NH, but it's not enough for me to keep me playing. Cozy Grove is actually one of those games i discovered and am playing. Love it. Looking forward to Hokko Life too, where you can actually design your and your villagers furniture and houses (if you know My Sims from way back than it's kinda similar to this). Which you can share online. Is it inspired by Animal Crossing? Yes, but it has enough to set it apart. Really looking forward to that.
@@louloucrossing Same. :D I loved My Sims for the way you build things there. And i can't wait to see, what other people will be creating. And i would love to watch you play this game. :D
I totally agree with you about how Nintendo ruined certain villager's houses. I was so excited to have Eugene the koala on my island when I first started playing NH because I had him in New Leaf and we were so close, but once I saw how different his house was (they gave him an office theme and played Agent KK to try and make him like a secret agent I guess?) And how he wasn't playing my favorite song KK Cruisin anymore I got sad about it, lol. I used to stay up really late while playing New leaf and Eugene was always up playing KK Cruisin in his chill house that we hung out in. Thankfully Raymond has taken his place for me now, but that moment gave me so much less hope for the other villager's houses. I do think they've improved on some houses though, like Lucky's for example, the Egyptian theme back in New Leaf was cute but I think the gothic cemetery fits him a lot more. I also like Whitney's house a lot more in NH, it's a lot more classy just like she is!
One thing that really bugs me: I can't control the camera in the museum 🦢 (my keyboard doesn't have a flamingo emoji 😅) Lovely video btw. Completely agree with everything. 🥺
I've got Stitches in a starter house. I've improved it by giving him toys and teddies, and even tried to give him new flooring at one point. I don't want to have him move out so it is just a bit sad.
I absolutely agree with what you said. I hated seeing that the 2 starting villagers you get, will never change from the bare bones furniture they start with. It made me so sad to never be able to see what their houses actually looked like before they had to move out. My starting villagers were Axel and Megan I think and I loved them so much. I will always love and miss them
I actually managed to make Dom's starter home livable and I realized you have to match the furniture they have in parts. He put up the chair I gave him and the lamp but he kept ignoring the beds until I gave him a race car bed which is the same size as the sleeping bag. He replaced it with it. He also put up the long tub I gave him and now his house is a bit bare but it looks like a home where he can bath, sleep and eat even with a Sanrio pudding and a protein shake on the table. I have to be super careful not to give him anything because I'm afraid he might ruin his home now. I actually prefer this home over his weird backyard home. The homes that pretend to be outside places are so weird.
@@louloucrossing I hope it'll work out in the end! Maybe try a cute single bed for Fuchsia... probably one you have to build since we barely have full sets with beds. Anyway, what I forgot to say was how wonderful your video is. It is absolutely valid criticism of the game. I love NH, I played it for 1500h now, but we have to be able to say that the game is lacking in some. sadly major, areas. You totally made your point :)
These issues really should be voiced to Nintendo. They've done a good job listening to fans before. The villagers need an update. My issue with NH. it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to remove villagers out of your town now. I've been trying to remove one who annoys me for a month now.
It makes me sad everytime I walk into Zucker's house. It looks like a crummy street fair stall. No bed and only a log bench to sit on. He has a pile of cardboard boxes too. He is adorable and deserves better. I want to gift him new furniture, but I'm afraid he won't use it. Kabuki's house makes me said too. He has a futon, but no place to sit and his bath is a giant cook pot. I adore Flora's design, but her house is heartbreaking! Everyone else on my island has amazing homes, it's sad not all the villagers can have that same treatment.
Flora was a starter in my NL town, so I was super duper happy when she was my starter peppy villager in my NH island. Then I started to get a little disappointed because I wouldn't get her dev made house. About a month later, I decided to look at the wiki to see what I was missing out on, and, let's just say I'm very happy she got the default starter house rather than the dev made one.
I always remember fights and discussions between villagers on Population growing, they were savage 😂, I really miss that too, although in new horizons they send very deep letters sometimes, and I love it, but in general it’s kinda repetitive.
I really want villagers to actually havr conversations again, the villager personality I enjoy most is lazy, but only because i can actually get some kind of unique dialogue from them sometimes. I want my lil funny animal friends back not just one line of dialogue and then conversation over. Heck they dont even annoy me with tasks much anymore, i wish they’d Bring back the frequent tasks, games, and stuff like that
I completely agree. There's actually a lot of stuff that just seems bland in comparison to the older games. Characters, their houses, furniture, and all that, but also (and I've never seen anyone talk about it so maybe this is an unpopular opinion) the music. I was honestly really excited about the soundtrack because the previous games have such good, unique music that not only sounds different from hour to hour, but depending on the weather. (Rainy music in New Leaf and Wild World?? So relaxing...) New horizons' soundtrack sounds like the same song played on the same guitar with slight variations (some of them just kind of annoying) and the rainy music is barely changed at all, not to mention some of the loops are pretty short. Sometimes I feel like muting it and just playing NL music on my phone. I'll give the composer the benefit of the doubt and assume they were under a similar time crunch and it was difficult to come up with enough unique music in such a short time, but it's still disappointing
COMPLETELY agree!! Pashmina was my favourite villager in New Leaf and i love her house and was so excited when i finally got her on my island-only to see that her interior is a freaking DINER??? whats the connection?? why?? and its SO bright red! its hideous and ugly and i hate it so much! Nintendo pls bring back the rococo series!!!!
I realized I had to give Plucky a small sized bed for her to place it out in place of her sad little sleeping bag... I also gave Deirdre a nice ironwood bed because I didn’t think the hammock seemed too comfy
