I enjoyed your little conversation with the Internal Medicine doc. But with his experience in hospital administration and personnel management, I would have appreciated more about his POV on insurance reimbursements; healthcare facility regulations (the dreaded "JCAHO" inspections); workplace accidents and injuries...things the average patient doesn't even think about. A great opportunity to learn something about these topics just passed us by. Otherwise, thank you both for staying the course, and especially for having Kristen share her obvious intelligence!

All true about conflicting orders from Cardiology and Nephrology docs... my X was on diallysis and also had triple heart pypass. When he would be in the hospital for Cardiac, the diet was exactly opposite of Kidney. Then... they (esp in ER) would load up on fluids in the IV lines - impossible to take off in dialysis without problems. Was frustrating every time. In addition - because he had failed fistulas and grafts, he was very limited where they could even take a blood pressure and draws. I had to be there all the time to make sure they didn't compromise his arteries.

I had lasik over 10 years ago. Best decision I ever made in my life….and I am married with kids. I completely regret waiting so long to get it (waited about 10 years).

Very true all of your observations of different regions - I also lived in TX (Loved it) as well as other parts of the country. On a business level, I really like the directness of people in the NE. But most of my life was in Colorado where we had that nice polite thing going on - and on a personal level like it. That talking slower is a thing. When people talk to fast, my brain can't catch up to what they are saying.

That 8:37 linear midstream ad is missing some video. Not sure if it's intended, it was just a bit jarring.

Kristen may be a doomsday prepper, but Dr. G is well qualified to handle any complications from flash blindness (from a nuclear explosion). EDIT: Per the medical story, I also thought it was weird that I could smell something burning toward the end of my LASIK procedure in 2012. I just though it was my eyelashes or something that got cooked in the laser.

Random comment, any thoughts about IDF soldiers suffering eye injuries by not wearing eye protective equipment?
