@@josephambrose2852 I have a scrapbook of all my ticket stubs from the Seventies in my Parents loft in the UK. I am in Australia. One day I will retrieve them. I have never forgotten those times!
@@ackerjawaka4742 i love Antinowhere League and I really love to listen Live in Yugoslavia. I would love to see them live in my home town, to.be small punk gig, best with KBO!. Maybe there is a chance... :) There are a lot of active bands that I would love to see live at least once, and I hope I will. But there are not that much bands, like Ramones and Pink Floyd that are my life dream. For me moments in time like this are greatest treasures of our legacy.
@@Stotinkica i love to listen to them to, we are the league is fantastic but live they were really disappointing which was a shame coz i was really looking forward to seeing them, maybe it was a one off as i only saw them the once but ive been told by a few people who have been to different gigs that they weren't up to much.
Many Brits claim they created Punk Rock, but they were all at The Ramones early UK gigs taking notes...as were the kids who were at the early Iggy & the Stooges years before that! I love Punk Rock and The Ramones are arguably the genre's best ambassadors and yes, Dee Dee is my spirit animal...
The Brits pretty much did create it. It wasn't until The Ramones did that infamous gig at the Roundhouse in July 1976 and met the Sex Pistols, The Clash and Marc Bolan that they started to see the fruits of their labor and success after the debut Ramones album flopped in the States.
It may surprise you to know, and in no way am I dissing The Ramones, I luv em! But prior to the NY "Punk" scene, or whatever you want to call it, Clem Burke was in England & caught a Dr Feelgood's show, he was knocked out by the bands raw energy & rtn'd to NY with a copy of Down By The Jetty. All the original crowd at Max's & CBGB's heard that platter & went on to create some great bands and music. Of course, NY already had a first, The New York Dolls, but the Feelgood's had a real kinda London Wide boy/Gangster attitude, poles apart from The Dolls but both were influencers, on the whole "Punk Rock" scene that followed. Here's to The Ramones, especially that first LP 🙂
Try having these guys in your Math class back in Forest Hills,Queens in 72' I did not learn a damm thing!!! Playing stickball just below Joey's apt. while they were in rehearsal to play CBGB'S.....RIP. My real friends!!
@@marksteinman2540 Of course!! But I saw them right from the beginning at CBGB's...Great times doing shots with Viscous,Reed,Deborah,Bowie the guys from The Damned etc..Good days!
It is wild to hear that you actually knew them in some way. And to call them your real friends like that just makes it even better to me. Most of us could never be able to have genuine relationships with anyone famous, let alone legendary pop culture icons like the Ramones, only able to imagine such parasocial interactions (like I do with the goddess Selene. Yes, I am a huge dork, and I apologize for getting weird with that 😂)…but you managed to make it happen. All I can say to you is rock on 🤘
Never saw Johnny with a safety pin.. or play guitar like that.. real punks never fake it. Sid Vicious pay attention. I was at winterland..you were only 3rd bill..Romeo void was already in SF tearing Mabuhy gardens in north beach a new one,, they were plugged in.. I saw you blowing snot rockets ... must be a British thing. If you made it to rock and roll heaven, when I get there I'll ask you in person. Maybe Dee Dee can help you plug in your amp....
They did not make punk rock actually They created NEW YORK PUNK It is not the same The only real punk rock in history is embeeded in Sex Pistols and two first Clash records Damned also made an attempt
@@DemonDog444 Hi pal Keep on sayin' they did not make real punk Their tracks do have melody unlike punk ones Remember they even covered beat hits such as Needles and pins Otherwise during the Chrysalis years they did everyyhing but punk, almost pop-rock Anyway, always on my heart and in my mind Joey Johnny Marky Dee Dee By far,my favourite one is I LOST MY MIND GREETINGS PAL FUCK REGGETON
I wish I could say the same... But I'm fortunate to live in the same period of time as Ramones so I can listen their music and feel their energy as mine. And in this century I even have all possible albums, songs and concerts they played, lyrics and it is almost as I have time machine. Or maybe it really is time machine for, me, I'm grateful for my time on Earth. Peace.
Just working on my Master's Thesis around classical music performance and after 9 hours of rumination I got here and your comment has literally made my mind blow. Simply magic!💥
I saw the Ramones a CBGB's back in the very late 70's early 80's.. I was grounded for the summer for sneaking out of the house, but damn, it was worth it.

"Runnin through the backstreet! Never atr spinach!". Those were the lyrics in my mind, age 6 plating Tony Hawk pro skater 3. Love this song, forever and always. Rock n roll is the best genre to see live, along with funk. I'm saying this as a hiphop head too, who has seen hiphops greatest acts throughout history.... But rock music? Just always takes the cake for live performances and skills.
