With all that said, the real issue is where you are moving FROM, and your budget and new (if applicable) income. National Average does not mean a lot without factoring in a lot of other things.

Renting isn't cheap either. Renting an apartment is cheaper than renting a house though. With interest rates, it can be cheaper to rent than buy, but long term it is almost always better to buy.

Kalispell is a pretty good area to be in. A lot more snow than Vegas. Lol. We are in Bozeman and love it here.
