The Real Reason Sakura Haruno is Hated 

Another issue about Sakura that REALLY irked me was the fact that for all her obsessing with and pursuit of Sasuke, she never really knew jack about him. She kept after this dark pretty boy ideal never bothering to understand his motives, strengths/weaknesses, personality, philosophy, etc. Pure selfishness on her part. Nor did she hold Sasuke accountable for his many atrocities apart from calling him a jerk at the end, meanwhile she was quick to dish out both physical and emotional pain on Naruto for the slightest 'offenses'. Glad Naruto chose Hinata over this vain, passive-aggressive heartbreaker.....................

Never liked Sakura, but my dislike became general early on, when she mocked and taunted Naruto for being a lonely orphan(cringingly to another orphan). I knew then she was going to be a problem. Whatever development she accumulated was damaged by her terrible treatment of Naruto, and finally annihilated by her extremely superficial "love" and doormatish focus on Sasuke( who treated her as less than an afterthought throughout when he wasn't nearly killing her). Folks adore Hinata because she became a stronger, better person for her love, while it was the opposite for Sakura. And look at her, raising Sarada all alone while Naruto and Hinata are purely happy.

Naruto girls progress vs Sakura. 1: ino: started as a beauty pageant material to, i avenged my master's death and help kill 2 akatsuki class S ninjas, also i helped to capture and defeat the gold and silver brothers, lost my father in the war but i managed to still kick ass in it. 2: temari: i started as a kick ass one tail jinchuriki's sister who could wipe out the floor with almost every ninja in konoha's ranks to fucking captain of the 4th ninja war , sister/guard of the fucking Kazekage. 3:hinata: started as a fucking low self steem kid who constantly got her ass kicked by her superior cousin, but train her ass up alone to the point of gain his respect, also sacrifice her life for the man she loves, and conforts him every time he need it, and also she became the fucking person naruto fears the most, his fucking wife. 4: ten ten: started as a weird tomboy: to fucking weapons expert who firmly believes a female shinobi can be as a strong as a male shinobi, and eventually got the 6 path sage's weapons and i'm sure she managed to use them as she show to us in the 4th war. 5:sakura: i started as a self centered bitch who ditched naruto just for being orphan even doe i'm in love with another orphan, i got my ass handed to me by the sound ninjas, ino, and everyone else, naruto, sasukeand kakashi have to save my ass constantly, i manipulated naruto to bring sasuke back even doe sasuke could't find more ways to tell me he doesn't give a shit about me, also i got trained by one of the strongest female ninjas in this story and still managed to get my ass kicked, the only reason i defeated sasori was because a fucking granny controlled my body like a puppet, i didn't help on konoha's invasion, oh and i manipulated naruto again telling him i love him to help me get sasuke back, i'm responsible for madara obtaining the rinnegan because i was too stupid to destroy it when i had the chance, the only decent thing i did was to punch kaguya in the head because i was so fucking worthless that she didn't worried if i was there in the first place, after that i begged to the man that neglected me to love me and marry him out of pure pity and had his child but never talk to her about him. And people asks why we hate sakura.

If we take other female characters into consideration, Kishimoto probably intended to make Sakura that much hated, but he just doesn't want to admit it. A bunch of other characters have plenty of similarities with her, but they aren't even close to be hated as much. It is not new that in Naruto's Universe, love works in a very obvious, naive and unconditional way. We see that in every relationship ever presented in the Anime. That's why people don't have a problem with every other character's portrait of love. Karin and Sakura are unconditionaly in love with Sasuke. He tried to kill them both. Karin hits Suigetsu and call him names. Sakura hits Naruto and call him names. Those two girls just wanted to be alone with Sasuke, literally trying everything to accomplish that. So, what exactly is the difference between them, that makes Sakura so much hated? SAKURA IS HATED BECAUSE SHE IS EGOTISTIC AND UNTHANKFUL, SIMPLE AS THAT. Of course nobody likes those characteristics, and it is obvious that, in Naruto's Universe, there are plenty of other selfish and unthanksful figures. But the thing about Sakura's selfishness is that it extends to a level beyond reason; without any proper acknowledgement from her part, which not only stops her from changing, but also makes every selfless decisions about fulfilling her ego. In that bitch's case, the lack of consideration to others always ends up hurting someone, especially Naruto, the one person she always depends on, and always can depend on. She treats Naruto, one of the selfless figures in the show, like shit; she never does anything for him, unless the dude is dying (which is her obligation, since she is a damn doctor and would do that for anyone); she is as strong as Tsunade, THE FIFTH HOKAGE, but the bitch never lifts up a finger, not even when Naruto was about to be captured by Pain; AND THE BITCH HAS THE NERVE TO DEPEND ON HIM FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!!! Damn!!!! And since I've seen people saying that Kishimoto is sexist, that's why she portraited her like that, let me bring on a few of female characters: Kaguya: Strongest character in Naruto, mother to the Rikudou Sennin; Tsunade: Greatest Medical Ninja in Naruto's Universe; Hinata: Heiress to the Hyuga Clan, best Byakugan user after Neji's death, and Naruto's wife; Kushina: Naruto's mother; Kurama's previous Jinchuriki; a woman that made her husband admire her for how strong she was; Temari: Kazekage's Counsellor and, as stated in the fourth Shinobi War, the strongest Wind User in Shinobi Allied Forces, after the protagonist; Chiyo Baa: Retired counsellor of Sunagakure; leader of the Puppet Brigade; medical ninja and poison expert; . . . Sakura: Greatest Medical Ninja of her time; Kage Level Shinobi; head of Konoha's Hospital; disciple to the Fifth Hokage; Lazy Mother; Emotional Heck; Sasuke's Personal Stalker; Head of the CryingHerAssOff Incorporation; Useless, Heartless, Unthankful, Selfish Bitch.

As explained in another related video (and I agree with it), the reason Sakura is considered useless is because she was a main character that behave as a supporting character. All the possible feats she had, certainly had proved useful as a side character, but being a main one implies a more rigorous measurement, and Sakura fails miserably in that, to the point her fans are limited to prove her usefulness against other kunoichis, when her "league" was to be compared with the feats from Naruto, Sasuke and Kakashi. Hence, when somebody says: "But sakura has done more than any female character." (an argument that is very questionable, seen Tsunade, Hinata, Konan and Ino's feats), tacitly is accepting Sakura was useless as main character.

Why are Sakutards so obsessed with making people like Sakura? It doesn't even make sense to like her.

When I fist saw Naruto, I didn't know anything about anime (because it was my first anime ever) and till Shippuden I swear I didn't even notice that Sakura existed, then while watching shippuden I began to watch other anime, and I began to realize that Sakura existed, and when I went back to see how she was before shippuden, I began to hate her, and then I went back to shippuden and hated her even more, and then I finished Naruto and watched other anime and she is still: THE CHARACTER I HATE THE MOST IN ANY ANIME Oh, and I think you forgot to mention that in shippuden she stated many times that she was at Sasuke and Naruto's level, another reason to hate her.

Kishimoto just doesn't know how to write good female characters. All of them got pushed to the side and overshadowed .

Why I really hate Sakura:- Let's talk about the points in Naruto OG series first 1. She had a cringe personality. When asked about her goals and dreams as a shinobi all she was thinking about things she could do with Sasuke. Omg cringe×100 2. She fought with ino who literally saved her from bullies because they both liked sasuke. I hated Ino too her btw. 3. She didn't believe in Naruto at all. When Naruto saved her from Gaara she really said thank you to sasuke and when sasuke told her it wasn't him she said that he's just being humble. 4. Crying about how Naruto is a brat and dumb because he had no parents. Bitch Naruto could have easily become a villain at this point but decided to become hokage just so that he could earn the respect he deserved. 5. Crying to Naruto for saving Sasuke even when Naruto was hurt badly. She didn't even care about him. 6. Was even ready to go with sasuke when he was leaving the village even when she knew he was going on a wrong path was just obsession level infinity at this point. Shippuden series:- 1. No originality. Literally just a copy paste of lady tsunade. Sasuke learned different jutsus. Created using chidori with his sword learned how to control the curse mark. Naruto invented so many versions of Rasengan, learned to control kurama, and Sakura was just a copy paste of lady tsunade. Nothing new at all. Even inoshikacho had More originality. 2. Her punching Naruto for no reason. I know it was a comic relief but if this was the other way around, Naruto punching Sakura then..... 3. Still not determined. Always standing there with a kunai with those undetermined eyes. We're talking about a main character here. 4. CONFESSING TO NARUTO SO HE WOULD STOP GOING FOR SASUKE. She could've said anything. Like "for your self sake or for our friendships sake please don't go after Sasuke because I am worried about you" But no she's sakura. 5. Needed to be saved even by some side characters like Yamato, Itachi, Lady Chio and then saved so many times by Naruto And kakashi sensei. Like gurl you Don't look like a main character to me at this point.

Sakura is worse then Amy rose

There were a number of missed opportunities to improve her. Kishimoto has Kurenai who could have taught her Genjutsu. She could have been more involved with other characters to mold her young personality into something evolved. Her rivalry with Ino was definitely underutilized and I would have loved to see what led to them patch up their friendship. And her crush on Sasuke outlived it's usefulness to the plot a long time ago. I didn't really get why Sasuke needed to be redeemed when Sakura and Naruto could have developed their friendship and teamwork.

It's funny how Hinata was better then Sakura, more useful than Sakura, more loved than Sakura, way prettier than Sakura, got a much better personality than Sakura all while being just some side character when Sakura is one of the main characters.

I really feel that Sakura would have benefitted as a character if Kishimoto ever showed her falling out of love with Sasuke, considering all the times he looked down on her. I really don't know how he justified in his head to have Sakura keep loving Sasuke, even after Sasuke tried to axe her off multiple times with 0 regret/care. Just imagine a version of Naruto where Sakura realices how toxic Sasuke is, and how down right dangerous he has become after the timeskip, and then focus on having her improve herself/her other skills, instead of just having her be the cliche "person in love" trope whom, because of said cliche/trope, ignores all the massive, red flags thrown her way! Sakura could have been such a good opponent to Sasuke too, using her own battle analytics skills against Sasuke's, using her earth and water elemental jutsus to counter his Chidori and fire based jutsus, along with her genjutsu skills to counter his Sharingan, and keeping herself and Naruto healed as Sasuke tracks their punches/kicks. Kishimoto gave her all these advantages, and then throws it all to the side so that he can have her go "Oooo Sasuke, have my babies" whenever she's around Sasuke instead! I wish there had been a Sakura focused arc between the 1st periode and shippuden where she 1) stops having feelings for Sasuke and becomes her own person whoms whole identity/existence doesn't revolve around him, and 2) realices she's going to have to rely/focus on herself as her teacher is busy only focusing on her team mates, and said team mates are always off getting stronger on their own. It would have been so satisfying to see Sakura roll up her sleeves, say "f you all" to her team mates and teacher, and grow strong on her own and become a respectable, independent ninja in her own way using her IQ, observation skills, quick thinking/reaction, battle analytics skills, genjutsu talent, water and earth based jutsus and chakra control. An arc such as that could also have served to show how characters in this world who doesn't come from any spesific clan, and also doesn't have anything unique about them that makes them stand out as an individual, have to struggle more and isn't as recogniced, but instead ignored/put to the side as they don't have anything flashy about them that promises them a great future.

The real reason why Sakura is hated so much because people follow trends like sheep..its like when the popular kids in school decide to target a kid that to them looks different they see that kid as a loser and soon the rest of the kids start to jump on the band wagon and start making that kid's life a living hell. sakura had goals as well. we see that during the chuunin exams where she breaks off her friendship apparently because of sasuke rivalry. but a few chapters later, we find out it was because to get out of ino's shadow and ino knows this, hence why she thought "i get it sakura" during their fight. her goals was to get stronger than ino, to be away from her shadow and when ino finally acknowledges her, that's when she realized her worth. her goals deepened when naruto failed to save sasuke. what she was thinking wasn't "i should save sasuke" or anything for that matter, she thought "again, i couldn't do anything" hence her goal to be strong enough to not be protected by naruto and sasuke

The main reason why most people hate her is 'cuz she is OBVIOUSLY the heroine, she is the most imperfectly perfect character who is badass even without any godlike powers or kekkei genkai, but STILL she doesn't return the feelings of the Hero Naruto. It's 4 this last reason that evry1 hates her. Even though it shud be perfectly her own choice whom she falls in love with. Her hitting Naruto was for comedic purposes, u see that stuff in lots of other anime. The mc getting punched by a hot headed girl. She was one of the people who supported Naruto's dreams. When she cries, it's bcoz she cares 4 her teammates. And abt her loving Sasuke; evry1 has had someone in their teenage life whom they has a crush on bcoz they were good looking. There's nothing weong with that! And WHY single out Sakura when evry other civilian kid also looked down on naruto during his childhood?! Anyone can see how her views changed as the series went on. And lastly, selfish? If she was selfish then she would't have saved so many people's lives. I didn't think she was annoying. Sakura is a more flawed, but human character.

Here are all my problems with Sakura 1: Her shallow obsession over Sasuke Sakura’s crush is the first thing we know about her, but it receives zero explanations for why it’s so strong. And I get it, you don’t need a in depth reason to love someone. But when that person is Sasuke, you need some reason as to why you care so much about that person. Yes, I know Naruto’s thing with Sasuke, but that has a reason! Naruto understood Sasuke’s pain and they silently bonded over that. That’s why Naruto wants to save him, and it makes sense. But Sakura? From my memory, they don’t have a meaningful talk at all in part one. There was that one moment when Sasuke was about to leave, but that was mostly a monologue on Sakura’s part than anything. And in her fight with Ino, she says something that really angers me. She said “I won’t let you have Sasuke.” This bugs me, cause she’s treating Sasuke like an object, not a person. And I wanted so badly to tell her and Ino that Sasuke was a human being. Not a new toy you obsess over. Her and Sasuke just don’t make sense. 2: her treatment of Naruto I understand I’m pretty much beating a dead horse with this part, but I don’t really care. Of course, there’s the infamous talk with Sasuke as her first big moment. I know what you’re going to say, “she was a kid and immature”, but someone as smart as she is should know this hate for him is entirely unjustified instead of just following the crowd. If you want an audience to like a character; the first thing you should do is make them kind to the protagonist. That’s why so many people like Hinata, isn’t it? And over time, she still continues to hurt him even when he almost died multiple times to protect her from harms way, instead still throwing herself onto someone who repeatedly calls her annoying. I’m not saying that Sakura should love Naruto. But at least give the possibility of a relationship a thought. Don’t pull a Bella from Twilight and obsess over someone who’s unhealthy for you while dismissing the other guy who’s healthy and loves you. 3: breaking her friendship with Ino This one pushes A LOT of buttons for me, none of them positive. And it’s because I used to be just like Sakura: I was bullied and had low self confidence. Nobody did anything and I genuinely thought no one at my school would miss me if I just disappeared. But I got a friend who was the best thing that ever happened to me. One who showed me that those bullies meant nothing and if I ever _was_ bullied again, I know at least one person would have my back. I won’t go into much more depth, but Sakura breaking her first ever friendship mainly over Sasuke is just plain awful. And yeah, there was that part that said she felt in Ino’s shadow, but that was barely, if ever explored past the Chunin exams, therefor being forgotten and blaming that amazing friendship ending on a boy. 4: Her attempt to follow Sasuke out of Konoha When Sakura found Sasuke was trying to leave the village, she offered to come with him and help him with his vengeance. I know that doesn’t sound bad, but really think about it. Sakura was up and ready to betray all of her friends, comrades, and even her own _family_ for a guy who never said a kind word to her. Now doesn’t that just sound awful? Well it should. Even worse was that she was enabling Sasuke’s self-destructive choice by not caring if he left to join someone who wanted to take over his body. And, ironically enough, Sakura was the only other one to see Sasuke given the curse mark other than Sasuke himself, but she didn’t even seem to care. And later she had the audacity to beg Naruto, one of the people she tried to betray, to get Sasuke back for her. Couldn’t have even tried to come with them, Sakura? Guess it would’ve been too awkward considering what you just did. And finally… 5: The fake confession Again, I know I’m beating a dead horse, but it’s deserving of its hate. First of all, Sakura, why did you jump to the conclusion that Naruto was trying to save Sasuke purely for your sake? Having been around Sasuke and Naruto, you should’ve known their bond more than anyone. Regardless, there was no reason for Sakura to lie to Naruto’s face. All she had to say was “Naruto, if you truly are putting up with Sasuke for me, I give you my permission to stop.” That was all that was needed! But no. Instead, she toys with Naruto’s feelings for her at a time he was vulnerable, as his sensei/godfather, Jiriaya has just died. I get that she meant it well, but it’s not going to help anyone. And she couldn’t even kill Sasuke anyway. What would’ve even happened if she did manage to kill Sasuke? Would it just be a one-sided relationship where she’s unhappy? That whole confession was simply unnecessary and almost as if Kishimoto was TRYING to give people reasons to hate her. Even with all of that, I don’t despise her. Just don’t like her character. If anything, I feel bad. She didn’t choose to be badly written. In fact, the first thing I do when making AU’s for Naruto is to fix Sakura, and by association, the rest of the female characters of Naruto. I try my best to see the good sides of characters, and I know Sakura, when push comes to shove, is not a woman to be reckoned with. She’s strong, and she does a lot for others, but all of those moments are overshadowed when she does something shallow, or nothing at all. And, let’s be honest here, Kishimoto: the fact you based this woman off your wife says a lot.

also, sakura actually did end up thanking naruto, subtly at least, in her mind. she was told by sasuke about it and she then smiles to naruto. sakura has thanked naruto multiple times and i don't understand why you think that she never did. sakura has thanked naruto subtly on this one, sakura has thanked naruto for helping her during her fight, sakura has thanked naruto for helping her heal shikamaru, etc. and never has she even thought "oh how i wish it was sasuke who saved me"

Honestly, Sakura's even worse than the villagers simply because they only hated Naruto for the fact that he was the host of a literal demon fox that nearly wiped their village. What Sakura did and said was just outright cruel. She had absolutely no good reason to call out Naruto in such a disgraceful manner like that aside from hoping that Sasuke would agree with her. I get that Sakura was just a kid at the time, but she's also suppose to be the most intelligent on the team, so you'd figure she would know better. Even Naruto, despite how dumb people make him out to be would never say such things.

Why do people get mad because of Sakura's behavior towards Naruto? Of course it's irritating, but they were little kids! Sakura only did what she saw everyone did. And in the video you were pointing out, that when the 2 guys began fighting on the roof, she ran between them without a plan...and you called her an idiot for that, but that was the proof that she loved both of them! :/ I can't understand why can't people see her improvement in personality. And she probably had a big role in Sasuke's return in the end, or else he wouldn't have married her and she wouldn't gave birth to Sarada :)

sakura actually tried to stop naruto and sasuke from fighting and i don't see why that's a problem??? the theme for this manga is forgiveness and basically friendship. just as kakashi said, chidori isn't something used on your friend, the same goes to the rasengan. sakura knew how much the pain sasuke was being inflicted on, she kept thinking what orochimaru said "sasuke will come back to him" and she wants him to stop thinking that way, she wants him to be safe, to be happy hence her resolution to sacrifice her life for them.
