GM totally overpriced the cars and the dealers marked them up even more. Plus the interest rates are still way too high for people with perfect credit. With that being said, me and my perfect credit will stay with my 2019 Grand Sport. I bought it brand new with Zero percent financing back in January 2020 when they were trying to get rid of them for the C8s.
A lot of dealers still think pandemic shortages are in effect and are unwilling to come back to reality with pricing. They had their fun and made their money during that period, now it's time for deals again!
These cars are not overpriced, it’s just that a lot of the buyers are pissed off at the dealers for marking them over sticker and jerking us around for the last four years.
You’re right in that they’re not overpriced compared to Porsche or Ferrari’s. But compared to a Mustang or Camaro, they are definitely out of the price range for the average American. The greedy dealers are also not helping.
Irony... All my life i wanted a Vette, but when I could afford it...i had kids and logistics weren't there...then my kids move out..and its the perfect time to buy one...and this is my favorite iteration...but now I just cant justify dropping 80 to 100k on a car with limited use...oh well
The base price went up $9,000.00 in 4 years for basically the same car as in 2020. I currently have a 2017 (my 5th corvette) but will be looking at something else to replace it.
Waaaaay to steep for the average joe. Going into debt for that amount and knowing that it’s a depreciating asset is not worth it to me. I guess I’ll just wait and buy wrecked.
Dealers have to start discounting these cars or they will just sit . Its that simple . And i know many that are but places like Ciocca Macmulkin still only sell at MSRP ..and thats just too high
True Story 🤣 I mean to a Car Guy we know but this car is Aimed at rich assholes who can't even do a Oil Change or Brake job the 2 most basic and Needed services on a Vehicle LMFAO Maniacally 🤣🤣🤣
Its a great car for the money but after a couple track days in my brothers he traded it for an M4 bc the paddles get boring w no heel n toe action. Rev matching is as far as Ill go for a fun car.
I hear you. I have a '17 Z06 M7 vert. I love that rawness and low end torque. I've read some who traded their C7Z for a C8Z miss that low end pull. Plus, our cars have better reliability IMO.
Not sure what area your in but our dealers around my neck of the woods can’t keep one of these cars on their lot , they are selling them as soon as they hit the lot, just seen a Lamborghini traded in for a used 2023 c8….
I’d luv to buy a brand new C8. As a matter of fact, I was even customizing my Z06 options on the Chevrolet website recently. But I was just fantasizing because the prices are so high that I can’t reasonably spend 90,000 and up on a car. Not even my beloved Vette. So I guess i’ll just keep driving my C5 a little longer and eventually buy a used C8 when they dip below $50,000. That’ll probably “only” be 10 years from now 😝
I dumped mine this winter before it crashed. 21 stingray and i modified it. Got what i wanted but they are tanking every month. Back to Porsche for me....
@@cgarnerspeed252can you tell me what dealer specifically? I went a few days ago to buy one in Miami and the best I could find was a C8 1lt at 77k. That was including taxes and fees
"The REAL Reason why C8 Corvette's are still sitting in showrooms at MSRP" ? #1 The Economy in general #2 Price #3 Interest Rates. And that car is gorgeous BTW.
They have been out for awhile where I'm from they flooded the market with them used ones are going at reasonable prices the C7s Z06s are going for high prices especially if it's a manual transmission
GM and its dealer network ripped off so many customers who paid over $20k to $30K over msrp. Then those that didn't want to play their silly games were treated like crap. Let them sit and collect dust. I won't be buying one... My 19 GS will serve me until I'm ready to get into another vehicle. A buddy of mine paid over $100k for a 2020 2LT. No thank you!
My Z06/Z07 is being built, but not sure I want to wait until next year to see how much prices drop. Paperwork is not done so I could back out, but I'm not sure the wait is worth it.
When you make 20k+ a year and its due for a refresh in 6 months, no way is it going to stay at msrp. Used 2020s should be in the low 50k range or lower, there are no shortages anywhere.
If things were normal 2020 c8s would be in the low 50s, but since so many people bought those cars over msrp, dealers can't lower but so much because they over paid for them.
I am just in sales but for over 10 years. We definitely lose thousands selling some cars. Not saying at the end of the month adding in parts and service we ever lost money but definitely lose money on a lot of cars and my paycheck shows that!!
@cgarnerspeed252 not often I moved to Greensboro when I was 10 back '83 due to mom and dad divorced.. I still have some friends there though and my dad family still lives there but. I moved to Charleston sc back in 97 so I don't get up there often all my mom side of the family lives in Jamestown high point Thomasville Raleigh area. I've heard Burlington has grown up alot I lived near Elon I actually went to Elon elementary lol
I think a little of it is the hard-core corvette fans who like me , though the name is Corvette , don't see it as a Corvette , it's a Ferrari knock off , all be it a good one , the performance is out of this world , I'd rather have a c5 Z06 or a modded Base C5 ....oh wait....I do 😂 yes I know it's no match but it's a real vette , not Euro supercar knock off
I was lucky to see those cars selling in my area for 65,000 to 78,000 but they have like 500 to 1000 miles on em though. 🤷🏾🤣 so yeah they are getting desperate to sell theses cars.
Cost of gas nationwide might affect why there are so many sitting around not getting scooped up. Let an administration come in that will allow domestic drilling and gas production and with prices going down, we'd see these flying off the shelves again.
Worldwide every car depreciates,2020 Corvettes still fetch over 65,000$. I'm not paying that for a used sports car + I still like the C6 GS.40k & I can have a low mileage convertible.
