The REAL Reason Why Ruby Franke's Family Didn't Speak Up IS INSANE!!!!!! 

Hopefully this prompts new laws for family vlogging and the laws of exploitation. Its time family vlogging ended.

I think the scariest part about all of this is that Jodi and Ruby probably think they have done nothing wrong. I think they are both narcissists with this extreme religious ideation and they feel like their actions are justified.

It doesn't take days... it doesn't take weeks... It takes monthS before a child will instantly appear emaciated to another person. My heart breaks for those children.

The kids escaped from Jodi's house, but they were also abused at their actual family house too. So it makes sense that it would be called a house of horrors as well.

Normally child protective services would start contacting relatives to see who was going to take the children. The fact that they did not give the children to the father or to anyone else in this family says that the net is being cast far and wide and no one is outside of suspicion for these abuses.

I lived this story as a child when my mother married my stepfather. I to, went to doctors and adults for help and was told not to break my family apart and stop lying. I am 70 and not barely a day goes by that I don’t remember the sorrow and humiliation. I wish those dear children grace and healing. I think this man is telling the truth about the secret over sexualization in families.

The young daughter asking a neighbor if she can play with their kid, and willing to wait four hours for it, makes Jodi's "they should never be around other children" comment so much more chilling to me. It also breaks my heart how lonely those poor kids must have felt. The more I learn the more sick it all is. Jail isn't enough. These women need to be thrown into a volcano.

Ok Jodie’s house is INSANE. Also- can we talk about how FAR away the neighbors are?! It’s a miracle that little boy was able to make it to a neighbors house.

The thing about the kids pulling weeds in high temperatures reminds me of the book Holes. The kids were sent to some kind of juvenile detention camp where they had to a dig a large hole every in the dessert with very little food and water. Jodi is sick for punishing the kids that way, but Ruby is even worse for allowing her to do it. It's terrifying the neighbours thought the kids were going to leave the house in bodybags.

Seeing the video Bonnie posted where she stated, “this happens and we need to move forward” that is telling right there. This breaks my heart.

It is crazy to me how the family is suddenly silent and "private" when so much stuff is public... after they got caught.

This is a perfect example of If you see something, say something! If you see kids outside picking weeds in 115° weather and you think that a lot of things they do are suspicious then make a phone call. Do it anonymously if you would like. It doesn't matter just make a phone call. Have someone go check on them. It couldn't hurt. I understand child protective services isn't the best and they drop the ball a LOT but it's still worth making the call, getting the incidents documented.

The only reason Kevin would be standing by Ruby is because Ruby has dirt on Kevin.

I was watching Bonnie's channel many years ago, and i remeber specifically that Bonnie went to visit her sister and she kissed her brother in law on the lips. I remember this because people went crazy in the comment section, they got a lot of hate, and Bonnie was like " what, is it wrong to kiss family on the lips?" DISGUSTING

About Jodi’s house. I live in Utah. No, I’m not Mormon. The housing development Jodi house is at is called Kayenta. These homes are upscale earth toned homes on 1/3 - 2 acres. My husband and I were looking at homes or lots to buy there years ago. These homes are NOT compounds, Lol. They are eco/ environmentally friendly homes and lots. You have to keep your yard/ property as is {keep the natural desert plants where they are, so the environment and wildlife are not disrupted too much.} This large neighborhood attracts artists {which is part of the reason we were wanting to move there.} There’s an art village there. Spa’s, and beautiful walking trails.

What you were saying about the pedo is exactly why I won’t put my daughter in pageants, or dance, or anything where her body is on display for creeps. I’ve had so many people say my daughter is so pretty and I need to put her in a pageant, absolutely not. Even more reason to allow my daughter to go into kick boxing, karate classes. Here’s the deal, aunts, uncles, bio family of any kind, has ZERO authority over what parents do with their children UNLESS the law steps in. You can take the kids, keep them away from their parents, etc. BUT you will be prosecuted for kidnapping AND/OR abuse. The extended family and the eldest daughter did WHAT THEY COULD LEGALLY. It’s clear cps did nothing. The police cannot step in unless you’re breaking the law. This is on CPS.

Thank you for the coverage on this. On every single one of these Lives I think of the book “A Child Called It”. The dad MUST have known the mom in the story was terrible and left anyway. The “punishments” in the story are beyond horrendous. Very similar types of abuse. So sad.

We on the snark boards have speculated for YEARS that the griffiths women would get lightly involved romantically with each others' husbands. I never thought they were doing it with each other, but we for sure saw them all flirting with each others husbands!

If Ellie and Jared knew they were abused ,why did they move away? The family statement on Instagram was one statement for everyone. They all said they knew the kids needed help. And the grandparents started traveling. They all had platforms to help these kids.

Natalie Lawyer Chick did a video with a psychologist about Ruby's arrest and family vlogging. The word is getting out to Legal YTubers and other genres of creators. Horrible this happened to the kids - but it is sadly shining a wider light on the exploitation of family vlogging

Heart is so sad for the children. Hoping and praying their bodies will be okay from all the malnutrition. But mostly for their emotional well being. Even if given best counseling, and EMDR, I don't see how they can ever truly feel normal or safe again. Just please pray for the kids

I use to watch Bonnie and Ellie when I was a teen. Carl and his wife hung out with them a bit a few years back. Unfortunately Carl also exploited his children on RU-vid. But I’m sure he has plenty of stories. The sisters would go and visit Carl and his family at their house as well. Everyone in this situation is so crazy and horrible.

Ellie and Jared are friends with the Lannings, not Bonnie and Joel. The only couple they were mutually friends with was Carl and Jinger, not the Lannings nor Katie and Cullen. Bonnie and Joel, Julie and Landon, Ruby and Kevin, never went to a party in California, but Jared and Ellie did many times. I also know Ellie and Jared went to Carl and Jingers home in Utah as well, again not with other family members. It’s also been alleged that Bryan Lanning swings both ways for many years. They have since sold their California home and moved to Tennessee where Ellie and Jared recently visited. They all know each other from the YT world, but there is no video evidence that the whole family has done this. I’m all for throwing the key away on many of these guilty individuals, but I would hate to be the one having my name included in this nasty behavior if I was indeed innocent. I will also say, the Lannings are drinkers, as well as Katie and Cullen until almost 1yr ago, Katie and Cullen have been sharing their sober journey of taking their lives back from alcohol addiction. It’s obvious Bryan still drinks as he often is seen holding a cold one. Neither of those families are Mormon like the others. If I were you DCP, I’d be careful with the siblings who aren’t truly in the nastiness you’ve shared, you can end up with lawsuits for slander.

So disgusting. I took my (very tiny amount) of pictures I shared of my kids on tiktok as soon as I realized that there are perverts who will steal and manipulate their innocent faces.

As a foster parent i can say that cps ( obviously it depends on the case worker you get) will hesitate to do anything about it because the amount of kids that are involved the more kids parents have the more cps hesitates to get involved and the more the will overlook. Because its hard to place that many kids. It frustrates me so much, it seems like the more kids they have the more they can get away with. And can get them back so much easier. 😢

I think ruby stopped vlogging when abuse ramped up! We would notice the kids looking malnourished!!!! That’s the only reason why she STOPPED.

They had three sets of washer/dryer sets ( on separate floors. One for the girls, boys and adults. The kids were responsible for doing their own laundry at an early age

I think it will definitely shine a light on family vloggers and start the dialogue to protect children. It is a step in the right direction. Unfortunately, it takes a crisis/multiple crises to create change and there will probably be more suffering until society realises how damaging montetised family social media channels can be to the children. Ruby missed one important thing about parenting. Love. She didn't show her children love. Showing love is the most important part of parenting. Constantly punishing children for minor infractions leads to punishment becoming meaningless. Children don't develop an intrinsic sense of right and wrong, they simply behave out of survival and fear.

I really hope what comes out of all this is new laws and regulations for family vloggers on RU-vid & Tik-Tok!

After hearing all of this, I'm even more worried for ALL of these sickos kids! They ALL need looked into!

I can't automatically hate on Kevin, or other family members, without hearing his side because I know how hard it is to fight for your kids, at least I hope he has been fighting for his kids. Right now there is a lot of speculation without evidence from those speculating. It took me 2 years to get justice for my kids that were being abused by their dad. DCFS did nothing. The police didn't do anything, they said they couldn't get involved in "civil cases." The judge kept pushing back court dates for months, eventually years. If I would have kept my kids from their dad outside of our custody order I would have been arrested and then would not have been able to keep fighting for them. My daughter ran away from her dad's house multiple times to come to my house. My son was beat and strangled with a belt!! It didn't matter what my son told them, it didn't matter that he was bruised all over his backside and around his neck. NOTHING was working, until I got a new lawyer that did not back down. Reading that even the neighbors of the Franke's weren't getting through to the authorities makes me believe that maybe (hopefully) the family was trying off camera to get the kids help.

As hard as this all is….. I have a 14yo daughter who is “on” social media but she knows I watch Josh’s videos and have spoken to her about family vlog channels and the dark side of them… she is watching all this unfold and is shocked at how things can appear on the outside to others but the horrid reality….. a life lesson learnt for her…. You are helping Kids Josh, keep doing what you do!

This is very very scary and how many years has this been going on and not just with 8 passengers!! All these other family bloggers etc what else is going on in those families that the camera doesn’t see and hear ! Social media is a prime layer for weridos / groomers / pedophiles the list goes on ! Laws need to be brought in and now ! To protect these kids on all these social media platforms!

Well this took an unexpected turrn... Ruby didn't shut down the channel to save her kids, she took them down to save herself. I think Jodie was able to use her cult tactics on Ruby's already rotten mind & convinced her to stop recording so there wouldn't be proof of the abuse. These are 2 very evil people!
