Agreed, it was touched on in the video, but the chemical feel good of the nostalgia memories of being in love with an ex is an addiction. It's so insanely common that it really is more than just a lazy option of "getting back together", both men and women seek pick me ups that are bad for you when we are at a low point like junk food, alcohol and easy sex with someone we used to be comfortable with. I believe media also likes to normalise this behaviour so women can inject drama and risk back into their lives. When her current relationship is on hold, her ex can be used to "fill in the gaps" of her needs temporarily, then she'll discard you like a used condom when her life picks up again.

Man this video is so accurate... It happened to me just last week. My ex casually calls me after 1 year of silence and wants to resume things like we had before. Not because she was feeling low but she saw me doing much better in life than before. I too had that fleeting moment where I was tempted to consider her offer. But I've been learning so much from this channel for the past year that I saw straight through her charade and politely refused. Then she suddenly starts blaming me for everything and tries to make me feel bad and guilty for "not being sensitive to her emotions". She's not changed at all. I am glad I dodged that bullet twice.

Dale Weiss I texted her back. She was pushing to talk on the phone, but I said no. I don’t trust the situation. Although, I am curious to see why she came back around. Ex’s usually come back when you move on. We texted back and forth one night and she hasn’t replied back to me since. I don’t send follow up messages or anything. Idk what her motives are. I stopped talking to my ex around this time last year and she’s been trying to reach out to me via voicemail (I blocked her number and all of my social media). I listened to her voicemails and I just laughed at them which told me I don’t care and didn’t have the feeling to reach back out. She was a liability to my peace of mind, plus we were in two different places mentally. I don't think I've ever had a video hit me so straight on the head. Two women in my past literally did this in the last month causing exactly the kind of emotional swirl you describe. I was able to force myself to politely decline engagement by sheer force of reason but not without a lot of unpleasant second guessing. And I know what you say is true -- as a photographer I've had countless models message me with "Heeyyyyyy....." and then when I turn back to engage there is silence. They just needed instant validation and used me to get it. It's their way. Constant external validation. I'm glad I was able to hold fast when it actually mattered though. They don't care about you, especially if they left you for someone else. I will never understand why people keep their ex's number. If I'm done with someone their number is getting erased and blocked. If it was a bad break I will change my number to boot. I refuse to be someones plaything just because they're bored. If you're bored get a dog/cat, new video game, or something. Just leave me the hell alone. If we're done lets stay that way - lose my number. If getting rid of their number is difficult because say you work or go to school with them then tough. You shouldn't break the cardinal rule of not dating within your social circle/network.

This is so so true. I realised the girl I was seeing would have these emotional outpourings and pretty much demand I be there and comfort her. I would do that and the next day when she's feeling emotionally better again, she would end things with me. We'd go through a period of no contact but eventually she'd get back in touch and the same thing would happen again. Recently she had another outpouring and she said she wanted to stay friends. This time I said that I am not interested in a platonic friendship and if thats how she sees our relationship then not to contact me and if she does then it's because she wants to explore that way. All this time I'd been 'seeing' this girl but in fact she'd just been using me for emotional support and stability. She'd tell me she loves me, but tell me i'm emotionally unavailable. Every time I give that emotion she'd drop me instantly. I've learnt a lot and it's been a tough pill to swallow as i've never been more attracted to a woman in my life but you must be strong otherwise they'll walk all over you. Good luck fellas

It's very hard to do, but there are no other options. And think about it logically. Would you want to invest in a future with someone who could just take off with a guy she met 7 days earlier? You can find someone much better. Someone loyal. Let her f*ck her life up however she wants. It won't work out well for her in the long run. And you'll have moved on and found something better

I have fallen for this a few times. Later, I understood what it meant, what you're prescribing above, and still did it. It can erode some self esteem even worse than the initial breakup. This time she's back but not giving nearly as much after a while. Just by her being the one that left, and you still agreeing to let her back, it completely imbalances the power in the relationship. She knows that you require little care to keep in line. Once she uses you to feel better about the new guy not responding to her - she will still be open to the guy she really wants.

The thing is I broke up with my girlfriend, because she was texting her exes too often. And ironically, she was doing that when we were at our best - no fight, no argument. This was happening even during the love bombing phase. How would you explain that?

I'm 33 now and it was the same when I was in high school. Most of the girls my age then (15-17) were only interested in guys who were a year or 2 or 3 years older who were driving. Looking back at them now makes me think how sad and pathetic they were still driving around outside the school gates because girls in high school were easy pickings for them.

I honestly don't see the problem here. They attracted to me who have more going for them than they. That's natural, and even Grace talked about it a few times in his videos. If they had to choose between the guy with the driver's license and you with nothing to compare, they'll naturally go for that. So true, i had been struggling with this exact issue in 2020, and at the ending of the year i realized she was just doing it for the attention, but this video helped me realize exactly why she did it, and it all really makes sense now, she even said a line that basically confirmed this but i didn't really understand it until i saw this video, but i also realized that i was playing along because i too wanted that feeling you explain in this video, thanks again, this really helped me take the ultimate step to finally truly move on, its not like i didn't moved on before but there's layers to it, i wont talk to her again, this channel is really something else, it genuinely helps people

Oh! Five years, this is crazy! I've had one ex contacting me after three months, she had invited me to her birthday party, which was a total mess for me, I was kinda naive at that point. Only had one exgf contact me after a number of years. She was my first long term relationship. She wanted to tell me she was getting married. I congratulated her. Then she told me that she knew I did not marry her because she was Japanese. I told her that she was mistaken and that had nothing to do with why we broke up. I had dated a number of women, asian, black, latino and white after her. I then let her know that I too was getting married, and that my fiance happened to be Japanese. Gosh, the crying and shock in her voice was incredible. I really felt sorry for her but that is how things worked out. She was a good woman and I hope things have worked out for her.

I remember working this out way too late. The thing is. If you're not careful you can KNOW this - especially if the break up was recent - and it not make any difference. She's contacted you and it takes a lot to not bite. My advice is- really really really put all the energy or all the stimulation into SOMETHING or someONE else. QUICK.

I had that lately. She is not my EX but known for fishing way out of her league and looks for that "back in track ego boost" whenever she gets dumped again. However, this time I should be her push back. I said no, and she couldnt believe it and started insulting me. Told her that I'd rather save up my juice for some girl id see in a few days (crazy knows her and (unsurprisingly) considers herself far above the other girl). Context: she has had a bf who she has had a Long distance relationship for years now and has moved even further away from him to the city I live in, cuz „she had always wanted to live here“ .. she keeps contacting me to link up and be friends.. When I asked her what her bf would think about her contacting me she said that hes Fine with it and that his ex is also his „good friend “ .. just seems like shes trying to drag me into some kind of mess...ugh

I realized yesterday my ex has another man and for I believe 2 weeks I had no idea she didn't tell me I had to ask and find out myself, even though she was worried I'd find someone else which isn't true at all. Just funny to me how controlling she was and everything she said to me doesn't mean anything at all. When she said "your my future husband, your the only man for me, I Love you more than you could love me" when in reality I wasn't and instead of crying about it and asking her to take me back I'm gonna go focus on myself and work harder than ever before

The best thing to do in my opinion is treat them with dignity. Go through the motions of “catching up” and then tell them you have to go, and do not allow them to contact you again. Minimize the drama and keep things short and sweet.

I thought this was something all exes did regardless of gender. I remember my ex bf dumped me, and then a couple months later randomly sent me a shirtless photo of him. Asked if I missed him. I figured the other girl he probably went after didn’t like him back or something and so he seeked validation from me.
