@@misterwtf7380 I totally get you man! However, I don't think that is how Alexander is intending to make men feel. The problem is that Alexander is male and therefore it could get him into bother if he makes videos telling women what to do because you know how that would turn out with certain people on the internet 😅 Also you have to remember that Alexander's audience is 95% guys. We can't control the actions of other but we can control our own actions and therefore it is best that any advice given benefits the person watching his video. If he made a video telling men how to control women then he would also get into bother. Also, why would you want to watch a female telling women how to act in a relationship, it doesn't apply to you? Or would it just be interesting to watch. But I get you man, all this information can be overwhelming at times so maybe take a break from this sort of stuff for a while or consume it sparingly. @@everope As Pierre mentioned above, the solution that Alexander outlined in the video is very time-consuming. Time is the most valuable resource every human has. Once it’s gone you can never get it back. Many young men waste so much time listening to women and trying their best to be viewed in a positive way with the hope that it will lead to something more than a friendship. This is a terrible use of time. Young men should be diligently working towards their goals and setting up a strong foundation for their life. If a random woman says “I had such an awful day at work.” I’m not going to ignore her. I might say “Take the good with the bad,” and then leave it at that. Don’t make your problems my problems.

Basic? Are you a woman? This is far beyond basic. Basic is me saying "oh im sorry, i hope it can get better" and then move on without taking more weight of the situation. What about empathy for me? This remind me of my mother. When I was a child she would complain to me about the family's financial problems. I felt so mad. Our family suffered from those problems, she could solve them, but she woudn't. At the same time, she would complain. I could see that the complaining by itself gave her so much pleasure. She would feel energized by complaining, it gave the power to feel like a victim, to feel like a poor thing, like life mistreated her so much. I depended on her to solve those problems, but she would do nothing about it, just complain. Let her children pay because having an excuse to feel sorry for herself was more important.

I came from a similar family situation (complaining Mother). I don't believe she actually gained energy from the telling/sharing of problems, but from the attention you or anyone else would "pay" her while she complained. If this is a pattern in your life of being overly attentive then I strongly suggest that you carefully measure how much time you "spend" paying attention to such people; as I believe they are a drain on your precious/limited resource of attentiveness which can only be replaced by rest and/or sleep...God bless.

So what you are saying is that dealing with woman's problems is like dealing with middle management. 1) Woman is just looking to find your buy-in to her emotional delusions. 2) Wants a unproductive all hands meeting to air her problems. 3) Needs the solution to be framed to make it look like it was her idea from the start. 4) Need an ongoing support contract because she is too dense to understand the tradeoffs that were agreed in previous steps to put the solution together. It sounds like a a full time job.

No, you don't need these steps at all. Think of it like this. 1. You have a problem, there is an unknown feeling that is unpleasant. You sort of know what is causing it and may know how to solve it, but this unpleasant feeling just won't go away. It is like a low resolution pixelated photo. 2. How do you unpack this feeling? You write about it or talk it out so that it becomes concrete and rational. Well, you need an outlet/canvas where you can make this low resolution problem into a high resolution problem. 3. Now that it is high resolution you finally know what it was that was bothering you! It has been unpacked and all components are finally revealed. Finally, you can now start attacking the problem. In a sense, she could as well be talking to herself, but if you truly love her or want to bond with her, then this is an opportunity for her to bond with you (if you care). You don't need to do anything other than listen to her. That's it. If you understand the concept and that women orient in an emotional landscape as well as social, then that's that. You don't have to deal with this problem because you are a man - men don't operate on these levels and chances are that you are blind to them even when it is happening in front of you. You are programmed differently because it is not relevant to you. Extraverted people may be able to see it if they have finely tuned social skills. I surely was totally blind to it, but once you see it, dealing with women becomes much easier.

@@tolloromassi99 That's right - a boyfriend/husband is not a therapist :) The best solution is to teach women/girls to keep a journal to deal with most of these unpleasant feelings. Friends may help too. The problem is that the woman is very likely to want to feel understood by her partner or perhaps that she won't have time to deal with it herself because of having children. If you can give her that attention, she will be thankful on a deeper level and you may see a side of woman that most men don't get to see. I've told many people that they may deal with it exactly like this - including my brother and father - but they would rather not have a successful relationship than hear her out. Those relationships very seldom lasts. That's also an option of course. I'm not forcing anyone. And btw, I'm a man haha :D I'm just giving you advice, you don't have to follow it. I've noticed that there are times where I'm not actually interested in a solution and all I want is just to vent to my boyfriend about what's bothering me. I personally don't get why other women would be annoyed by a man doing that though, when it's quite obvious to me that he's only trying to help and I do think he's quite sweet about it. What I do in these situation is... I actually tell him all I want is to vent. We've had really good discussions about the actual problem and it's quite valuable to me. A lot of times these problems tend to be venting about something a friend did etc. that we don't actually have any intentions on confronting the friend about. Points Id like to make: Active listening goes a very long way. If you continually solve her problems, she will stop coming to you because she can’t trust in you to be her teammate. Problem with this, is emotionally she will detach from you. This is bad, and will snowball into all other areas of your relationship. Likewise, a woman needs to understand this is difficult for a man, and that there’s going to be times when he can’t drop everything to assist her in her emotions. She needs other healthy avenues to explore her feelings. Her mom, friends, siblings, praying, journaling, therapist. A woman has to take responsibility for her own emotions and not dump them all on her man.

Great comment, Kimmy! I have a girlfriend, who, when I met her, had a huge and very complicated problem. From the beginning she made clear to me, that _she wanted to solve it herself!_ I respected that. Moreover, I do not beliieve in _solving_ problems. I believe in _making problems disappear!_ The difference is this: people have problems because they do not have the training or mental tools necessary to deal with that problem, whatever it is. There are two ways to mke the problem disappear. 1. You go to a specialist, specialized in dealing with your problem. And if they are not around, because there do not exist specialists in your particular problem, or it costs too much to hire them, then ... 2. You _train yourself_ so that _you yourself_ acquire the skill set, and then _you yourself_ solve the problem. This is what I did with my girlfriend. I _trained her_ so that she could solve the problem herself. And _she did!_ She was _so impressed_ that _she could acquire_ the skills herself, that now she is writing a book about it. We have been together since. For _30 years already!_

@PriestOfFilm

I think, honestly, that most women are so caught up in the complexities of their emotions they would struggle to interpret the masculine psychology in approaching life in the main. Like even as simply as the cultural acknowledgement that a man MUST be self-reliant or he is considered a faulty man. They could never appreciate what the reality feels like, and even if they did ... they'd get lost in emotional long-grass about it and lose the sense of what they were trying to learn. Not to be disparaging of women, but with men being the naturally more assertive and domineering sex, it's more effective and pragmatic to teach men on how to engage with women, rather than the other way around because men - as stated by Alexander - are problem solvers. It's just about giving them a little deft skill in how to apply that mindset in a way that doesn't antagonise a woman and takes her into account, like the video was trying to teach.

One of the things I've noticed with women is that often, you as a man, think you know the whole story. You've heard everything and got all the details. Then some time later she'll drop a "niggling little detail" that she accidentally (or deliberately) missed out of the initial conversation. There is ALWAYS something held back. So a "one-time discussion" only ever gives you 90% of what you need to know to understand the problem. The best way to get the remaining details is to either bring up EVERYTHING again and again, almost every day, until you get to the truth; or to be silent and non-committal with your help until she "blurts" out more details as she struggles with her problem and seeks to draw you in to see/get your reaction. This way you'll eventually get (up to) the last 10% and that's where the important stuff is. That's where the true confession of her possible misdeeds will be. Where you'll learn details that can completely reverse the problem. Or nullify it, totally, and make it a complete non-issue that she's blown from a mole-hill into a mountain. Or escalate it into something YOU should be truly worried about. So, guys, don't be too quick to help with understandings and solutions. Give it more time, until you know the WHOLE STORY!

I lost a friend over exactly this. What if a woman IS wrong and I do NOT want to validate her emotions? I had... have a friend who had a falling out with her fiancee as she was pregnant. Long term I knew they would have to cooperate and work together because they have a baby together and knowing their situation, that is what is happening right now. They are cooperating. She was being horrendously vitriolic to her man, entitled, angered, with an all-or-nothing attitude, self righteous and sanctimonious, she could do no wrong in her eyes. I gently suggested that she might not be fair towards him. (It was a little more specific than that but that is essentially it) and BAM. Years of what I thought a beautiful friendship down the drain. "With friends like you, who needs enemies?" she said. Blocked and kicked out of her life until I chose to seek her out because she has given birth and I wanted to wish her well and ask her how she and her baby are doing. I probably should not have back. This woman was never a romantic interest, that was why we were such good friends, methinks. Its all working now, we are friends again. But she never mentioned, owed up to or apologized for what she did, and I will never see her as this reliable friend. I don't know... it just doesn't sound like a good deal. In my life and my world I cannot tolerate this much self-imposed censorship. It seems so insincere. And I genuinely foresaw what her emotions couldn't at the time, that she is going to have to cooperate and that going the extra vindictive route is not the right thing to do. (and it wasn't)

If my boyfriend or dad were to tell me to talk to a woman instead, I’d feel like he doesn’t care about me. Many of us women share what we go through with those who are closest to us so that we can get over it/feel better. It’s often times not even about solving a problem. As a woman I think that you perfectly described the ideal way that a woman would want her man to react to her problems. But I think it’s not ok for a man to go out of his way to do everything in a way that woman would like because it makes him loose his manly ways. Just like the woman shouldn’t do everything to please her men. They both have to compromise and adapt to each other.

I acknowledge/validate ur feelings, I empathize with those kind of feelings to show you I have some understanding of those particular feelings, and then we can move on together to explore/brainstorm some possible solutions. Eventually, I would hope that we could reach an agreement on the most effective way to settle an issue. @raularmas317
@raularmas317 3 года назад
The one area I see as probably needing the most consistent compromise is in time-attention invested in listening bc I tend to believe that women have a far greater attention span when it comes to talking about feelings and relationships. So maybe, instead of spending 5-10 minutes discussing how some problem at work affected you, you might want to spend 3-5 minutes and allow your S.O. to ask clarifying questions to refine his understanding and his input in the form of suggestions as to how to resolve the matter at hand.
@Stupidspencer1

No, Alexander. Just no. I dealt with the issue of wanting to solve a woman's problems while I was married. Every bit as much as that woman hates it when men try to solve her problem without addressing her emotions first, it is at least as agonizing for the man to have to waste his time listening to all her interconnected emotional problem BS, all the while already KNOWING how to solve the problem. So I say NO! The solution is not for the man to cater to her emotional crap. The solution is for the woman to already KNOW that is how a man will respond, so she should just NOT MENTION HER PROBLEM to a man. Period. We aren't allowed to talk about our emotions to them, lest we become de-masculinized in their eyes. Tit for tat. If women don't want a masculine response, don't EVER come to a man with your problem unless you are prepared to hear how to solve it.

Because women recognize so many more social dynamics I think. Imagine if lets say your boss repremanded you in front of the office, you had every slight look and change of each person's face while it happened. You remembered your tone of voice, you remembered your boss's face enraged with anger and the tone of his voice go almost shrill. All of this is stuck inside you. And it displays itself in what you do and how you act and think. She needs to get rid of all of this. Thus why she needs to talk a lot to let out all of that negative emotion. After she has all of that out, then maybe she can see things a bit more rationally again, or she can find her own way forward in dealing with the emotions that she had lingering.
