Lisa. Enjoyed watching you today. I thought I had stuff. Man you have me beat. I don’t have all the fibre but I have yarn. Joining 100 days of spinning to help me along. I only do a little and have only made a cowl so far. You inspired me to spin just before Covid and I learned and I’m so glad I did. Thanks. You continue to inspire me 🧶🇨🇦

Gorgeous episode! Those straight needles are lovely. I have lots of old ones that I inherited from my Gran who taught me to knit as a child and still love to use them for small straight knits. I also have some old tree decorations, the fragile glass sort, also inherited. It's always nice to get them out each year at this time and remember with thankfulness the good times that were spent with those we loved .

Thank you Lisa for this lovely advent episode. I too admire all your projects. And..also started to always consult my stash when new ideas rise..it tames the want to buy new yarn when i meet the beauties i find in the stash, your italian wool will make a beautiful hat! I sit while watching your episode, knitting away on my Botanical by Stephen West. It will become a shawl for my husband and i think i will borrow it from him every now and then. Other than that...while practising with spindles, i am happily and full of curiosity waiting for the delivery of my first spinning wheel. I think, following your and Andrea Mowrys journey inspired me heavily, i love spindle spinning...wish you a very lovely and crafty week😊

Thank you, Lisa, for this lovely video. Your work is always so beautiful. I could watch you spin long draw all day - and I don’t usually feel that when I watch others spin! I wish I could be as relaxed a long draw spinner as you…one day🤞🏽! Bless Peaches…it’s hard when our dogs become very elderly. Our old lab, Bracken, was almost 17 when we lost her in July. She was deaf and we developed hand signals for her, which she really responded to! Peaches looks fantastic for her age!

You had your girl for a long time though 17 years doesn’t seem so long to me now at my age. I am praying Peaches continues to have a healthy life. Every day with her is a gift. Hi Lisa. Christmas is upon you and spending this year watching you has been great! Your sweater fits you so nice. I love your idea of treasures. Everyone has them, so we can get ours out right along with you. Peaches seemed to really enjoy her Christmas due, she had such a bounce in her step. I bet she is still glowing. My time lately has been learning my stitches. I made a few hats, with a bit of lace work. Now, I look at all my patterns with such joy. Louise Penny is a favourite of my Mom’s. I have been collecting them for her for years. Still Life and I have been getting acquainted. I gave her a reading light and she is back into the stories, up till 11! Keep warm and stay well.

Thank you Lisa for another lovely podcast. You keep me inspired. I haven’t really spun in almost a year. Crazy life. Quit my job last January, started a new one in March. Long hours. Found out we were going to be grandparents so knitting like a fiend. New Grand baby in September ahhhh what a life changer all around. Then we two decided we should adopt a puppy. Crazy we are, but happy. Looking forward to time off during the holidays just for me where puppy cannot get at my wheels. Just came home from office trip and brought covid back...I’ll get there..😊

Great episode! Your Arboreal sweater is beautiful... and the fact that you didnt just buy that yarn off the shelf is tremendous! And you look great in that sweater! I understand what you say about your stash.... i just turned 70 and i know i have more stash than i could knit up. And i have a lot of hobbies that have their own stashes... rug hooking, quilting, spinning, needlepoint, cross stitch! But i think eveyone will enjoy seeing you fondling your stash... please video when you do! So glad to hear Peaches is healthy. I just recently got BritBox and i am trying to watch Shetland because so many people like it. I found Louise Penny last year and read her books solidly thru #10... i had to take a break! But i really like her because i have to concentrate.... better than zipping thru an anemic book anyday! Looking forward to your next episode!

Thank you! I too need a break from Louise Penny after this book. I need a happy romance or something light. You sound much like me…lots of hobbies and stash which is a good problem to have I think! Lisa, You have inspired me to try sheep to shawl as well…am already looking at fleeces on Etsy … they are all so lovely, not sure how I will choose. As for Christmas trees, I found that as I am approaching my 60th year I have become keenly aware of how many christmases are left and decided to leave my tree up year round! I take all the decorations off except the lights and a few botanical inserts and use the Christmas stuff only during holidays so there is still that special feeling 😊 As always, your videos are so lovely and I look forward to each special one. Hi Lisa I heard about your podcast from Janet "jaelsa" as she told me you mentioned my Musselburgh video and my channel. Thank you for your lovely comments. I am glad you found the video helpful. I have loved watching this episode and am now subscribed. There is so much you have mentioned in this one video that resonated with me and made me smile. I did the whole Craftsy to Blueprint to Craftsy. Malabrigo worsted - my first luxury yarn! Returning to straights when that just makes life easier for that project. Slipping the first stitch knitwise - I am about to start the Half and Half Wrap and have decided to do that to have a neater edge but still retain the garter. Jennifer Steingass is a favorite of mine - your Arboreal is gorgeous. I love the idea of a Treasures from your Stash section. I do a Friends from the Vault section where i show off something i knit a long time ago. Bringing out older stash is very clever - a good way to get motivated to use stash that hasnt had its time in the sun yet. Thanks for an enjoyable episode! :)

I have both the DT and the saxony. The saxony was a lucky find. The Fold in Marengo Illinois had a used one some years ago and I don’t regret picking her up. She’s lovely for fast long draw spinning. The DT is very versatile and my usual go to wheel. I’m very fortunate to have both!
