I love the fact that you tell us how to cure ourselves and explain to us the reasons at our level. You are reducing human suffering with your knowledge. We are immensely grateful.
Dr Mandell, you know I need my coffee as soon as I hit the floor. I even set my coffee maker to have it brewed when I wake up. But I understand what you are saying, so I will wait, drink my lemon water first thing go to work and then by 9 or so get a cup of coffee. Thank you and God Bless you...
Yes, its not Just about perking up..for me its tradition/routine and aromatherapy. My day is messed up if my routine has been altered. But change is inevitable. :-)
Omg...a fellow lemon water drinker...!!..does the lemon make your pee stream like a fire hose...like your actually flushing out your pee hole...lemon water on the daily is health changing God send my wife got me drinking it..because I drink pop and coffee everyday..keep the stones away and flush daily
This actually makes sense, whenever I get up and I have a cup of coffee I do feel something stimulate in my brain but as far as being awake I can't say I feel much not until my body wakes up on its own
Fucking a Me just realized dat I've been drinking coffee all wrong all these years since beginning to drink more Nowadays I wait like 3-4hours after am awake to my 1st brew of da day!
Also, as I have learned, coffee dehydrates. What you need to start your day and throughout the day is plain water especially in the morning, after hours of sleep. Water transports the O2 and other nutritive substances in the blood, to the brain. That's what helps your brain function and alertness, a lot more than caffeine. 1-2 cups of water first, and preferably a few bites of protein *prior* to carb/sugar food , the balance that your metabolism and blood sugar wants. That means, avoid that typical metro breakfast of coffee and pastry, or cereal!! Do eggs, fish or cheese, nuts and seeds. Later, fruit. And even later, enjoy carbs in moderation when your body is ready.
That explains.. what's happening to me ..🤗 Thank you ..Dr. Mandell ..I will wait to drink coffee ☕️ its going to be alttle.. hard ..but.. I know I can do this ..👍😁 Have a beautiful day😊
I’m right there with you, Diane! It’s nice to have all these interrelated factors put into perspective. Aha! Today, I was set to go cold turkey, but wanted to get Dr. Mandell’s take on it. I’m at my limit now.( 2 cups), but after cup #1, I saw my perspective zoom way out to see the full buffet I can choose from for my plate-of-life today.🎉😊❤
I actually love and used to drinking a cup in late afternoons paired with bread, biscuits, cookie or any pastry while watching a movie or you tube videos. It's relaxing that way for me 😊
I do to I just wake up a hour and a half earlier so I can meditate and when I get my cup of coffee I feel better I don't do anything intense so maybe drink more for heavy weights/more reps.
Heard the same thing on the Hubbermab Lab (Stanford neurologist). Don’t drink until 90-120min after waking. Wake at same time every day for optimal energy-cortisol harmony.
Neuroscientist Andrew Huberman also says that the best for your brain is to drink coffee only 1.5 hours after getting up and that you should drink a quarter liter of water per hour during the first hours of the day.
Thank you for this subject! I, at one time had 3 cups of coffee. Now only 1 small cup with cinnamon, ghee, no sugar. I do not feel like I am hyper have anxiety.
I also use a dash of pink Himalayan salt, as it reduces the bitterness of coffee ☕ and reduces my need of adding sugar. I also add a teaspoon of coconut oil to my coffee and sometimes cinnamon. Tastes so good and healthier.
@@belle_thegoldiegirl Organic Valley Ghee and I have a cinnamon bottle with holes and shake cinnamon in coffee-this way I do not go overboard with cinnamon.
I was told by my Ob/Gyn Year’s ago to drink no more than 2 cups of regular coffee daily during my pregnancy and avoid decaf because of the chemicals used in the process.
I heard you say to wait an hour before you drink coffee when you wake up. So ever since then I always try to wait at least an hour before I drink any. Thx for your help!!!
Many many of your tips, Dr M, I perform, but the enjoyment of the smell and taste of my first cup of coffee in bed for the day feels like the only luxury I have
100% . I also heard this from Thomas DeLauer. I started waiting 90 mins . Prior to doing this, when I would sleep late on the weekend, I’d have migraines first thing. Those have stopped.
Just heard you talk about this yesterday, and it all makes sense. However, though I listened and agreed with what you said, I immediately went to my coffee maker this morning and made my cup! I thought about what you said while I was making my cup of Joe, thinking I should watch this again. Lo and behold, here you are again😄! However, I did at least finish my glass of water next to my bedside before drinking my cup of coffee. I will start to put this into practice, but I will need to get up earlier to be able to do so. I have cut back on my caffeine intake, to one small mug rather than two.
Holy crap Dr.Mandell jus blew my mind (again)😳🤯😮 first the baking soda tips then the best time to drink coffee smh I'm gonna be alert, smelling good, have glowy skin and a well functioning liver..I'm all set😃😃😃 Thanks to Dr.Mandell I'm smarter and healthier 😁
I heard a neuroscientist say its best to intake water first, (w/ lemon) will give energy and hydrate you from the dehydration while asleep. Wait an hour / hour and half before your first cup. You’re mood and function will thank you
I drank coffee right before exercises. 2hrs or more after waking up. It helps my bowel movement and induces more sweating. I tried cutting caffeine completely, cons: had problems with my bowel, pros: it actually helped with my depression and mental clarity. So i chose the proper way of consumption to get the best of both worlds. Mindfulness is everything. 😊
Oops! Coffee is the first thing on my mind at 4am before work. I'm going to try to wait until 5am to drink it now and see what happens! Thanks for helping with such good information!!!
I just started drinking coffee. So I definitely only drink it in the morning when I start feeling tired. That’s usually about 2 hours after I wake up. So I’m glad I stumbled across this video.
