I started already doing all I can straight with your recommendation. I did it with no speed control so it is a little miss in some corners but the machine shop says they fix dents on the surface. 😂 I jump step and try to hit the intake port all the way from the short turn to the mouth with long burr and the shank of the grinder hit the surface all because the job is hard to do it over a washer machine 🫣. First project. A domestic all motor .4 inline. I open up a tunnel at the exhaust. Is very restricted. Is I can I'll ask the machine shop to cut all and weld back in a 2" nipple 🎉😂 to the exhaust. I'll try to match the ports of success import that have everything on it. It is not impossible but it will be cool to see a domestic of that brand with the original 4 banger out load at list in the low 14 on 91 octane gas. What just starts as a hobby and passtime can end in history or a total failure. But very important I try all by myself. I have speed control now. to complete. Everything I'm doing is nostalgic for all the years living in Peña Pobre Naguabo. Many records from people I'm proud. It is sad that they may never see I'm trying unless I succeed on this after all the years learning with them and having more information from this channel. All I want is a domestic with a unique all motor intake sound and good performance. I'll try a custom set of pistons because it's 8.5:1 compression ratio and I'll like to run with 11:1 compression and see if the hp can be ser from 160hp original to 240+hp all motor from a 2.4 liter stock domestic platform.

Curious, do you bring the chamber wall adjacent to the valves out to the cylinder bore, for maximum unshrouding? Is there potential gain if the top cut could be extended out to the chamber - roof radius and keeping the radius to, say 3/8”R, or as large as possible? Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.
@headgames
@headgames Месяц назад
I think your first question would be use a gasket to ensure your not outside of the bore. Top cut is extended out to the chamber, not with a radius and then blended to the chamber.

When doing the chambers I worry about taking too much out of the "quench area" to unshroud and smooth up for detonation resistance. Don't want to cause compression vs piston to valve clearance issue
@headgames
@headgames Месяц назад
Just don't remove alot of material from the quench. But this has nothing to do with piston to valve clearance. If you just blend sharp edges and mill it you wouldn't hurt compression.
@taskmasterhorni
@taskmasterhorni Месяц назад
@@headgames I know it doesn't directly effect ptvc I mean increasing the combustion chamber cc requiring more "dome" in the piston to acquire the same compression, that's all
@headgames
@headgames Месяц назад
@@taskmasterhorni yeah you don't need to remove that much. Round numbers, 1cc would be about as much that we would be removing here, and if you mill the head .005 it comes right back to OEM spec and doesn't effect anything. Just gains!

What's your thoughts on that weird pocket in the chamber? I was thinking it was an unused boss for a DI injector but it's between the exhaust valves if i'm seeing right
@headgames
@headgames Месяц назад
I wish I could say why it is there. We could do theories but it would just be that.

How many degrees of timing increase have you seen? Obviously every engine is different.
@headgames
@headgames Месяц назад
hard question to answer, because it depends on the tuner, the combo and fuel. The feedback is just "more" is the best I can say.
