Messiah Complex is the single best story in modern X-men history. New X-men by Grant Morrison is my favorite run, but the entire Messiah saga is one epic fucking awesome story.
Michael Griffin - I include that in Messiah Complex. I include all three arcs including Messiah War. But yeah, Second Coming was the absolute best arc in that whole saga!
Michael Griffin - I was very disappointed that they brought him back, his death was epic. His whole arc with finding out about X-Force and having faith in Hope was one of the best things about the story. I stopped reading X-men on a regular basis shortly after Second Coming. They went down hill after that for the most part. X-Force was still fairly decent for a while and there were a couple short arcs that I enjoyed, but the quality continued to drop because of Fox having the movie rights. I’m so excited about what’s to come. I’m finally going to start reading X-men again.
I agree but with House of X and Powers of X that cane out, it easily tied with the Messiah Complex and The Phoenix abd Dark Phoenix Saga as the best X-Men stories.

Now I can have a more competent response to give to friends who keep asking me "Why are you reading all of the Age of X-Man stuff when you describe it as "Not very good, but not really terrible either, all while it will occasionally do something great out of nowhere."

@@PapaSmurf11182nd Honestly, while they started good these books turned to shit pretty quickly. I also hate Bendis Guardians. In fact, i don't like bendis and teams. I wish they'd stop giving him team books.
I dont really have expectations for this, never read anything by Hickman, but I think going in blind is okay for now. I'll catch up with Hickman's Marvel stuff during the run probably, but I kind of want to try some his new stuff, before delving back into the older stuff.
I totally get what you’re saying, but do yourself a favor and read his avengers/new avengers that led to secret wars 2015, you won’t be disappointed man

I would have loved to see the X-Men leap through the Siege Perilous (anyone else remember that?) again, forget each other and come together and start all over again.
The X-Titles have been way better than The Avengers. LOL. Marvel editorial does need to supply new writers with info. X-Force has been good, but Warpath's development in Weapon X was just forgotten.

One thing I want to know, out of the whole Hickman run, is where is Michael Pointer? He just up and disappeared after X-men Legacy and we haven't seen him since. That bothers me a lot because he was a character with so much potential. Nate Grey even said he was the most important mutant on the planet. You can't have somebody say that about a character and then do nothing with them. What urks me is that there are so many other characters who aren't on Krakoa, but are listed as being allies and given the potential to show up in later stories, but not Michael. He's just nonexistent now, which he shouldn't be considering how powerful he has been shown to be. Bring back Omega!

Looking back on this video now that there have been 16 issues released. Do you still think Morrison’s new X-men has a lot of tie ins to this current X-men run? Any other X-men series tie into this? So far?

Secret Wars was a huge let down. Seriously, a book that should have involved the entire Marvel universe was nothing more than a FF story put on the forefront of a Marvel soft reboot. But hey, with that said, Secret Wars was the VERY LAST single series comic book I’ve ever bought. The handling of both Marvel and DC characters the last 10 years is such disservice and disaster to comic book fans. Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, I’ve personally seen comic book stores that have been around for years and decades close shop due to huge decline of sales. Ask anyone who works in a comic shop, it’s very hard to point out a series a NEW series or comic that can get a good recommendation, X-Men and Jonathan Hickman included.
I really love the X-Men and I've been reading almost everything about them lately. I loved the Astonishing X-Men series where Xavier came back through Phantomex's body. And the Uncanny X-Men where X-Man took rid of them all. What about X-Men blue and red, Generation X, and everything lead by Kitty Pride as Xavier was dead. I think X-Men series where evolving and now everyone is like underestimating those stories. I really hope these Hickman's series will blow my mind after all the shitty talking.
First time watching one of your videos entertaining but the delivery needs a little bit of work. Sounds a little monotone and didn't really deliver on what was in the title card
