Old low quality footage, brought in by request for Gaye Delorme Fans / Segment taken from a concert appearance by Gaye Delorme "Live at The Act Theatre" Maple Ridge B.C. July 2009. A little "Humor" from one of Canada's greatest musical treasures. This tune has been kicking around the underground airways for quite some time. Thank you to Gaye for bringing it back for younger generations to enjoy ! Remember this is intended as "humor", please do not be offended by this little tale Gaye takes us on. Gaye Delorme is awesome, and I love his sense of humor, but he cannot play Rodeo Song without a long explanation. May Canada live forever.

I was at a bar high in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, on a cold, snowy night in 1987 (I think). There was a guy playing a guitar and singing for tips. I requested this song with a tip, he started playing it, the bar owner sent him packing.

What you say folks / this is an old one but I did video the entire concert / anyone out there like me to post it. Lots of Gaye with hot electric guitar licks, older low quality footage but perhaps I should share it ? Leave comments, if enough people would like to see the entire concert I will dig it up and post it for my old buddy.

I was there that night in Maple Ridge! I was fortunate enough to call him family and friend thanks to his closeness to my brother-in-law and my nephew. I have a picture of him playing guitar with my nephew who was probably 7 or 8 years old at the time. Still one of my favorite pictures of all time 💞🎶🎸🦋

Was this at the Arts club theater? I think he did a show there in 2009, I recorded it, but after a few years my hard drive died and I lost it.. though I think Mick Dallavee has a copy of it.. SOMEWHERE

This man was a treasure. In 1979 he use to play a lot in Orestes in Calgary until the wee hours of the morning. He and his really tight band played some incredible stuff like Dylan's You gotta serve somebody and Dire Straits How the west was won.

He also wrote the music and played the guitar on Cheech and Chong's "Earache my Eye" song. "My daddy he disowned me cause I wear my sisters clothes....".

I had no idea that Gaye Delorme had written the song. I thought Garry Lee Berthold had written for The Showdown, although I think the first version I heard was The Beat Farmers. Classic tune!!! Love it.

They played this on 630 CHED in the day in the Edmonton area. In the 80's for radio format they had to put bleeps in this song for obvious reasons and they played it a lot, bleeps and all.

I like to generalize Canadians for comedic effect, but damn, what a great group of folks, eh. Between Darrell Braun and this guy, I'm thinking of getting a Maple Leafs jersey.
