The funny thing is, we had an almost identical situation in my family about 30 years back. Nowadays it's a simple procedure, but in the 90s having cataracts done was a bit more involved, and we had to have my gran come to stay after the op. She'd never got on with my father too well and he'd made it clear to my mother that he didn't want his mother-in-law staying more than a couple of days. A big row had followed, and that was that. My gran stayed there for two weeks until completely better, as I recall.🙂

@@MarthaMansbridge im with you on those days being lost forever. Saturday night tv in Ireland was of course British tv 😆 but you looked forward to it and couldn't binge watch. Most definitely were posh if you could record it. At least until video became affordable. There was a dynamic there that holds beautiful memories. One that will never be replicated. ✌️❤️🇮🇪

Revels are a bag of chocolates. In each one, there is a different centre. Such as: orange, coffee, coconut, nut, toffee and malteser. Nanna had a family sized bag and deliberately didn't give Jim any.

Wasn't David and the partner the creators of Googlebox? I know he took over the voice work when she died recently. It's essentially this show but more families I'm pretty sure he wrote this too. I'd love to have a pint with them and hear how they pitched this and Gogglebox

I forgot about early doors, totally underrated! There’s also ideal with Johnny vegas and a more recent Scottish comedy 2 doors down (with rab c nesbitts wife) that no one seems to mention that are also little gems

Nana was referring to the show 'some mothers do 'ave em' with Michael Crawford . (I think you would like it , to be honest) . One of his catchphrases was 'mmm betty' like Nanas terrible impression 😂😂😂 When his character Frank Spencer would mess something up and had to tell his long suffering wife Betty. I think you would LOVE the episode where Frank is dancing at a trad Scottish do.. Or the wallpapering one 😅

He definitely needs to watch "Keeping Up Appearances" with the snob Hyacinth Bucket lol 😁, that along with the royal familym one foot in the grave e.t.c. os definitely up their as some amazing comedy gold , no doubts about that. I reccomend AfterWork Reactions should also watch and react to " Little Britan bity" , Catherine Tate - Nan And Scottish Woman, Catherine Tate - Derrick, Catherine Tate - Disgusted Couple e.t.c. Definitely Keeping Up Appearances though. I know he's watched and reacted to Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights , but not sure if hes watched and reacted to Peter Kay's Car Share aswell , if not i also reccomend he watches that aswell. Also Catherine Tate - Anger Management Nan.

I noticed mate you finally got infiltrated with the common sense Royle Family-ism of shaking your head negatively whenever Denise especially complains of being tired from hard work carrying a baby. I noticed that myself when it first came out. Shaking the head and moaning at the same time as the sensible characters 😂
