In case some are wondering, AD stands for Advantage when calling In/Out AD scores at DEUCE. Should be easier to an understand than explained at 5:30 ... ;)
thanks for this!! I used to play basketball but quit because I had a bad muscle spasm the night before tryouts, I limped the whole time. I have been into music since (band, I play clarinet, ukulele, kalimba, guitar, piano)but was tired of not being active. I realized that I like tennis and I am good at games similar to tennis so maybe I could give it a try, I asked my mom and am going to talk about it with my dad!! This helped me get a good understanding of what it’s like, so thank you!!
Thanks Very comprehensive! I have been playing since I was little and having a hard time explaining the rules and scoring in an understandable way to new players, this lays it out easily
I won my first tennis match today at city league. I was so confident after watching your video that I overpowered my serves and sharted in my white shorts on accident. Still won tho!! I’ll post videos soon!! TY
Well I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m in athletics . I didn’t even know but somehow I ended up in junior high sports so I decided to try tennis. This video helped a lot !
Great tennis video. I'm a P.E. teacher and will add your video as extra watching for my elementary students who might be able to understand terms and scoring.
I'm a huge soccer fan/players. But I'm thinking of more of a calm sport and this Tennis really caught my attention. Cant wait to buy new stuff and try this sport
I used to play with my sister as a kid, but we had 0 idea what we were doing lol. I'm looking to pickup a hobby and this video has been a great starting point. Thanks!
I’m trying out for tennis this year and this helped so much!! Thank you, I took a bunch of notes and I’m gonna study them before school starts and when tennis tryouts get closer!
this was so helpful, not many videos teach you about the serving situation like they assume you already know but this video made it very clear! Thank you!
It's 2023 and I found this video to be very useful, since I'm volunteering at tennis competitions for XIX Panamerican / VII Parapanamerican Games Santiago 2023
trying out for tennis hoping i make the jv team and this is so confusing 😭 hopefully i understand more during tryouts update: made jv and we have our first scrimmage tomorrow slay
@@lifewithme008 nope! no prior experience and i stayed on the team until junior year but depending on ur school they will teach you how to play and just put you in little jv matches till the end of the season.
Excellent video with very important demonstrations. I am going to require all my players to view this and then give them a quiz on what they learned. Thanks so much for putting in the time and energy to put this together!
Thank you so much for this video, i have a match on Monday this up coming week and i was so confused with singles matches but now i understand and i feel confident❤
Came here to see if I could possibly understand tennis scoring because I watched my neighbor boys play high school tennis yesterday for the first time. You are doing a great job, but I'm still confused and think I'll just start drinking now.
so a question I have that I can't seem to find a solid answer to is "during a serve, can the ball hit the service line or does it have to be completely in the service box?"
Played my first ever game today. Got obliterated and the opponents were assholes. They screwed us over with the score and made fun of us the whole time. Also spent half the game talking to a friend outside the court.
I got a question When I'm serving on the AD side, standing close to the imaginary center line my foot not crossing it though 1. Can the racket cross the imaginary center line when I swing? 2. Can the contact point with the ball cross the imaginary center line?
im brand new to tennis, im joining because my friend really wanted to and i have no idea how to play. This video helped me a bit, though i still have a lot to learn. Please leave any helpful tips.
It is like table tennis but they came up with bullshit like love-15-30-40-deuce-ad in-ad out or whatever. Play it like 0-1-2-3-4 and whoever becomes 4 wins the game. The 3-3 (deuce) is exactly same as 10-10 in table tennis. You can play the game without using any of that bullshit
