The Sad Story of Red Dead Online 

This video is slightly different from the norm. It's the first video out of 1000+ on this channel that is not voiced by me. I still love creating RD & GTA videos but I'm terrible with voiceovers. I could never get the right tone for the topics I was talking about. I'm fortunate enough to be in a position now to hire team members who are clearly 10x's better than me and can help deliver much better content. Hope you enjoy!

Literally there are 3 things they could do to fix the online mode, give us properties to buy, weaponized/armored wagons, and let us Rob the banks in the game gta hiests style....thats it...the robberies could fund the properties and the wagons could be used as escourts for trader and moonshiner runs.

It breaks my heart thinking about how much I wanted this to work...

The naturalist role made no sense, they put people that hated cowboy games in charge of the online cowboy game, you had missions where you hunted down and killed trappers acting as though they were evil when you have a business as a trapper

I tried playing again recently with my brother. Had a little fun but then we both remembered why we stopped playing… there’s nothing to do 🤷‍♂️ hunting for cripps and doing his little runs, bounties, and other little things wasn’t enough. We both got bored but kept playing. Then the hackers came out to grief. I ended up in a UFO and couldn’t get out of it until I joined different session.

To me, the big issue is matchmaking. I don't understand why I can never find someone to join my session in call to arms.

I began playing last summer and still enjoying it.

I remember playing online with my friends and I won't forget the fun times we had on rdo, we made a posse and called ourselves the mcnuggets, we would do dailies and just goof off, but after hearing rockstar's announcement about them not caring about rdo at all in favor of gta online is heartbreaking, it's like they never gave it a chance to thrive and instead gave it bread crumb updates and pretended that they cared about it 😢

As someone who plays more than one game and has a full time job, the grind for gold with Red Dead online was a solid wall blocking progression... so quit playing after a few months of no measurable progress. That was after starting to play around early 2022. It was a lovely game world that was very nice to wander through, but nothing much for a 'casual' player to do.

Honestly the community is one of the best overall. Hacker are a pain, and rockstar hasn't donemuch law enforcing of late... or ever. But, it definitely adds to the feeling of the wild west. Sure I've been turned into a UFO and fought of(f) waves of zombies, even running from a 100 foot bear. These memories are from the "hacker community" God bless them.

quite possibly the biggest letdown in gaming history. i have been holding out, loading in everyday at least once, long enough to do some dailies, and maybe run a wagon.. but lately i have been growing tired of it. i own everything, upgraded everything, own every article of clothing (even stuff id never wear) all because I'm a completionist. all roles are totally maxed and completed.

Man I remember talking to my friends about how this is going to be as big or bigger than GTA online with all the things they can do couldn't wait to have my own Ranch having dedicated customizable Posse hideouts adding Mexico which I think was a lot of the reason why most people didn't really mind that they cut Mexico in the single-player because they thought it was going to be the Kayo Perico of red Dead Redemption it was only supposed to go up from moonshining not actually being the only thing close to a house you own the sky was the limit...

All I want in online is to rob people and places such as banks and trains without having to do a mission

They should have never done online and should have done dlc. The world isn't designed for online play and it shows. Rockstar just wanted money. The adventures of Sadie Adler would have been great

Red dead need an update to make it 60 fps its not playable on 30 fps cuz all games now better in frame rate specially if u play horizon forbidden west you can’t play red dead online again

I don't mind it. I'm not getting shot anymore. I'm now playing Online for completionist purposes.

It could have worked but rockstar is the laziest game company to exist so lazy they stopped updating it completely they can at least try. There is a lot they could add and all they care about is money.

I think if they had a free aim server would be good. The first game had this. Also, in the first game if you were still, youre blueberry would disappear.

Overhaul the purpose of the game, add trading ability between players like RuneScape, add an economy, tradable gold, cash, even bullets should be tradable, add reasons to spend gold, and cash, like tonics that have different effects, drugs, properties with bonuses, players can buy or collect things, have a safe bank to save ALL their items, sell to other players, rare items, untradables, properties would need resources, add more roles by making everything a role(A trainable skill), Woodcutter Role in RDO would be an example of a skill in RuneScape, boring for gameplay sure, but useful for resources, for house building and maintenance, something a role, or skills, of a Native Hunter wouldn't worry about, but to have the best bows, you need the best rarest wood, which only woodcutters might be lucky and find, and have the skills necessary to gather, how much it's worth to the players is up to them, even the most useless item could be worth millions, that's ok. Make death lose all items and respawn you in the nearest hospital or something, so that death has consequences, but then make PvP an optional thing and an area thing, something for higher levels to do, like certain areas have PvP, they increased rewards and resources because of the risk of dying and losing your things etc. I feel like ALL that, would improve RDO... 😂

Still love the game and play every day. Lobbies are busy and there are lots of new players. Lack of significant new content is clearly a problem.

You need todo your research bro. They didnt stop updated this game. There still updaged RD2 every month just not every week. Plus there making another red dead online which will be better then red dead 2. And this isnt mentioned in the video at all

RDO needs both Bank and Train Robberies available. That's it. We don't even need properties.
