A little bit offtopic, but any advice how can I learn how to speak in such an engaging way, you taught it yourself with practice or did it come to you naturally? There's something about your videos that makes them hard for me to stop watching. You really got a talent for this, maybe you should consider making video about this topic in the future. Also, personally I think I like this format much more than the interviews, keep it going.
I Would follow the work of Professor Alex Lyon, who has a great RU-vid channel and John Maxwell. Watch your favorite communicators and mimic some of their best speaking qualities. Then watch yourself in the mirror and practice. Remember practice makes perfect! I also think it’s important to remember not to hide your passion. Do your best to think about how important the topic is you’re speaking on and let that passion show.
@@drjoshaxe Thank you so much, can't wait to see more videos from you. This in particular was really great. I love your way of thinking and how deep you get into certain topics.
My best sleep time is from three am yo nine am I keep my house about 72 year round lucky I live alone do I can take thst nap when I really feel the need it’s tuns sbout two hours I’m over 70 snd been very active sll my life
I’ve suffered from severe chronic insomnia since Sept 2020. I often went 3-4 days in a row without a minute of sleep and the days I did sleep I would get only 1-3 hrs. This went on for 2 years and It was absolute torture. Nothing worked. I’m now using trazodone (which sometimes doesn’t work beyond giving me 2-3hrs) to assist w sleep and, after about 2.5 yrs of almost not sleeping at all, I feel like a rock star when I get 5 hrs of sleep!
Try the supplements in this video and update if you get better plz! I’d say following everything said in the video will hopefully change your sleep situation to better
I am on trazodone as well. It does stop working after 2 weeks or so, you need to take something else and then again trazodone. I have 50 dose but I use only half a tablet.
@@EffectivePickyEatersSolutions Thanks for that info! what do you take when you’re alternating? My doctor has suggested only this so far. I’ve been on it for a year and my dose has gone up 4x bc it stops working. I started at 50g and I’m now at 200g. I’d really just like to sleep naturally again but that doesn’t happen
@@foxxycleopatra615 apparently doctors instead of offering something else just suggest to increase of dosage. I found perimenopause/menopause threads on reddit where I learned that you get to used to almost any sleep meds. My doctor prescribed hydroxyzine pamoate 25mg, it was much stronger then trazodone 50 so it's better to take it 12 hours before your wake time. I am on estrogen patch and progesterone and progesterone helps with sleeping so my sleep is not so bad just not ideal to function on my demanding life.
I get hot so I use a wet towel I put in the freezer around my neck, I use black out curtains, and a sound spa of the Ocean. I’m using Menopause moisture cream with Daystar cream from Barbara Hoffman. I don’t have lots of anxiety and was having night sweats.
I'm currently a nursing and toddler mum. Due to stress, I've realized that I don't get enough sleep and I've been coming down with the flu frequently these days. This explains a lot. Thank you
I started taking thyroid glandular after NOTHING else worked. I have Hashimoto's and am 10 yrs past menopause. The thyroid health from Emerald Labs is my favorite, A. N. didn't work
We have about same routine/ regime, but I 've never heard about weight blankets !! I need to find it in France ( amazon, I guess ). Is there any special advice ? For example, if my hub is about 95 kg and me about 58 - should we use the same weight blanket or better to buy 2 different ones ? Also, is it useful for kids such kind of blankets ? Thanks . Marina
Weighted blankets are great for kids and adults. The blanket that I personally use is around 10 KG for King bed. Everyone likes different weights, with kids, probably a lighter weight compared to adults. Yes, you can find them on Amazon, but also could probably do an online search for best weighted blankets.
Thank you for adding the alphabet function, which allows me to understand your video even when I am learning Japanese. Wishing you and your family happiness and health forever^^
I find that I need carbs at my evening meal otherwise I cant sleep. It brings down cortisol and helps my body to relax. I had been having trouble getting to sleep for a long time not much before 2-3am. Then I heard about carbs bringing down cortisol and it makes all the difference now. Drop off to sleep very quickly.
Love your work & your passion; thanks for creating such great videos on vitally important topics that affect so many people. Thanks for lighting the way for people to live happy healthy lives...you are a true blessing! 💚🙏
For people living in the Northern and PNW make sure you check Vitamin D levels! Low Vitamin D can give you horrible insomnia...not usually a problem in the South or other places. I loved living in the South, plenty of sun and great sleep...moved to the grey PNW and the insomnia started! Also had it in North Dakota in the winter...Vitamin D to the rescue!
I felt my best when I sleep at 7:30pm and wake up at 5am. I didn't sleep straight, instead I woke up several times during early morning hours. But that sleep I got before midnight really help my energy. I caught covid and it was so mild like a cold.
Nice, feeling how the bloating and pain receded within approximately two months made all the difference, I simply go’ogled the latest by Tilly Strankten and her Ovarian Cyst Guide and although it really took about 10 weeks for it to totally shrink and vanish I’ve never felt so light and relaxed.
You forgot to add to the list of why people don't get enough sleep... They're a new mom or mom. Becoming a mom is next level exhausting. Never getting long stretches of sleep. Being up for hours in the night. Half sleeping. Never deep sleeping. I've experienced psychosis and sleep paralysis and extreme horrible nightmares any moment I get to sleep. What do you recommend for that? (Besides try sleeping when the baby sleeps in the day)
Thank you! This is so awesome! Never had sleep issues until last fall. I was jolting awake to any sound pretty much. It messed me up. Anxiety set in. Insomnia. Sleep is so important!! Thank you for this!!
i toss and turn all night, sleeping is never comfortable and have no idea how to improve it, who do you even talk to that focus on mattress/pillow and posture during sleep?
😂 32 years married here and YEEEESSSSS to the “barrier pillow” 🙌🏼 We both like to have a pillow to hang a leg and arm over so, after a few weeks of marriage, it was pillow, him, pillow (for when he rolled over), pillow (for when I rolled over), me, pillow, AND A/C to 68…at least! 😴
This was such a fun video! Tysm. Yeah I can’t even sleep with the pillow next to me touching me lol. I’m sucky sleeper. I need meds unfortunately. My problem is staying asleep. Some nights I want to cry bc I can’t just go back to sleep. I eat dinner like 4 pm and go to bed 9 or so so it’s not that. I think I’m a stress bucket is what it is.
What if your body won"'t sleep more than 6 to 6 and a half hours? No matter how long I stay in bed, that's the most I can sleep unless I take a sleep aid. Everything I've read says this is unhealthy but this is my reality. An,y suggestions?
Thanks for the great information on sleep. Two questions: 1. If one uses a weighted blanket then there's no need for a comforter right? 2. Are there any studies out there surrounding daytime sleepiness and possible ways to combat it?
I have an overabundance of rem sleep and not enough deep sleep. I definitely feel the effects of my body not being able to heal. Any suggestions for increasing specifically deep sleep and not rem sleep? I already do all of the common advice.
@@drjoshaxeI am in the same boat, exercise and activities don't make any difference. I am all day long with 4y old, a lot of outside , sun etc nothing works. My bracelet keeps showing me not long enough of deep sleep and usually I don't feel well rested. I have to take trazodone to have better sleep quality. No caffeine and no blue light did make me more easily fall asleep but still not enough sleep quality.
Wow it's been a long time Josh used to watch you all the time before the pandemic you and Dan the Man liferegenerator Came Back.😢😅 magnesium is very important 4 sleep and all the processes in the body also converts into melatonin I hear😮
I'm seeing you from T'dad & T'go in the West Indies. Thank you for the valuable info. I have sleep problems. I can't seem to sleep for too long. What do you think I should do? Thanks in advance.
Try and follow all of the tips in the video and see what happens. I’m confident it will help you sleep better. Also try and get to bed earlier that tends to help people who naturally wake up early.
Sleep Apnea is my problem- tried the Cpap (masks). But, it was not for me… my sleep specialist recommended getting an oral appliance instead… I am trying this way with more success (though cleaning it in the morning is a pain in the a$$). Still, I tend to wake up at 7:00 am or a little later (sleep cycle or something), while I go to sleep at 12:30am-1:00 am usually - I need to get more zzzzzzz’s
I would recommend trying to go to bed earlier. The hours of sleep you get before midnight tend to make you feel more rested. I would aim to be in bed by 11 AM if at all possible.
