I'm using dragon stone and a crushed lava rock gravel substrate which should work really well. I have always wanted to make a tank like those on your videos, at the time I’m still unable to do so… Your videos give me the sense of peace im seeking. Truly thankful for what your works does.
I’ve just recently started following your RU-vid channel, and I am absolutely loving it. In this video I’ve heard you mention “aquatic compost” a number of times. Can you tell me what that is? As stupid as it sounds, I’ve never heard of it before. 🤷♀️ LOL
I'm new to your channel and love what I've seen, your videos are great! I might have missed it, and I realise it ain't really your scene, but I'd love to see what you can do with artificial plants. Would be great for those of us that arent ready for live plants yet!
great video , i really want to try a shrimp only tank , i want to try breed them for a new 470l tank i am going to set up later in the year . When are you going to try a high tech tank MD . C02 does not need to cost fortune . my current set up on my 90L cost less the £100 to set up and i have to say of all the tanks i have kept , my C02 tank is my best . the plants and fish love it and the growth rate is brilliant . I cannot wait to upscale it to my new aquarium . pm me if you need links to a cheap Co2 setup that i use !! Keep up the great videos .
We essentially just see you put in a u shape piece of pipe with a filter inlet fitting on the end. A lot people still just use a gravel syphon going into a bucket and might like an upgrade. Cheers
He's also helping some of us not make more tanks we don't have the space for by letting us live vicariously through his new setups 😂 I've just been maintaining my tanks, I love them so much I have no interest in tearing any of them down, so I get my new tank fix from this channel 😁
the amount of skills ive learnt from watching, has come in handing and now i always find myself using your techniques and get great results. keep it up and thank you for the videos
I call one of my tanks “The Asian tank” because I have an Asian themed aquarium ornament as well as fish from that area and my husband looks at me like I’m crazy😂 Thanks, MD, for always being a source of knowledge and inspiration in the aquascaping/fish-keeping world!!! 🐠🌱🐟🌱🇺🇸
I started doing my Saturday morning chores including laundry and here I am sitting in the family room recliner watching MD design another awesome tank! Priorities😂🤣😎🥰🐟🌱🐠🌱🇺🇸☕️
Oooo, I love that. The mix of rocks looks great, not sure why people think it wouldn't look natural, nature is full of different rocks. Keep it up, man, awesome work as always!
Could you please do a video on what you would recommend buying for a first aquarium? I would love your insight on what you think are the necessities. Love all your videos ❤
I have cherries in my tetra tank, and they never seem to reproduce (I assume the kuhli loaches are getting the shrimplets). Well yesterday, I pulled the whole filter apart for a clean and found a happy little family of shrimp! How they weren't getting minced up by the pump, I'll never know...
Great timing. I’m setting up a tank today. I’ll be using sieryu stone and I will be going for something similar to your layout… which I love. I agree with you on the adding the pebbles - they work very well.
You are so lucky due to Tasmania's biosecurity they are illegal as are snails and a lot of the plants you take for granted. You are very talented it's a lovely scape
I love to place different types, textures and colors of rocks together. Same goes with driftwood. You can definitely overdo it if nothing looks the same, but I figure if you've either got enough parallel lines and/or maintain the golden ratio, then the scape is fine with a hardscape made from multiple materials.
Hey MD! you should make a video about your daily maintenance / feeding would love to see something like that! Love the video Btw I watch everyone that you post almost instantly
As usual, a detailed explanation. Thanks. BUT…. most of your tanks are ‘front-view’ only. Could you do a tank with 3-sided viewing ? (Maybe you can demonstrate proper tweezer usage when planting plants?) 😁
But... the shripms were doing fine in the tank, so you destroyed it? Isn't there an English saying "If it aint broke, don't fix it" I understand that "action" can make successful videos, but informative ones too. Not saying this to be mean, and I really think that you are basically a good person.
I like that you use a variety of stones. It makes me way more natural looking. Whenever I go anywhere where there are a lot of rocks, I don’t think I ever see just one type.
Great videos! Just a quick question! What is that brown things in video 7:50? Because I have them when I vacuum my aquarium gravel and it makes me worried! Now I see you have them too! Are they normal? I couldn’t find anything on google! Thanks
Come on Mate, you are not fooling us. You had 50 shrimp, but lunch time was coming up, your tummy was rumbling and the other 30 of them there shrimp went on the Barb-b-q for a nice little sandwich Ha!
Hello, since it's a new tank, is there enough biofilm for the shrimp? Or do you have to feed them everyday? And what filter are you using for the tank? Or is there none? I don't see it in the tank or it's just hidden very well.
I am in college and I wanted to get a betta fish, so I purchased a tank on marketplace and brought it home. The tank was listed as five gallons but I am pretty sure it is actually a three gallon and about 1/2 gallon is taken up by inserts for the waterpump filter and heater. I don't want to put a betta in that because it seems too small and was looking into shrimp, but personally I dont need a bunch of baby shrimp. Would the shrimp be happy if I only got 3 or 4 all females or all males? I plan to plant the tank and do it up real nice, but I am not sure if it would work.
Hello do you ever give suggestions? I am starting a shrimp tank and new to this. I am at a road block because I just don't know what plants to use in the planting sections I placed in my tank.
This is my favorite part of the Destiny 2: All Cutscenes playlist. I loved it when Zavala said "It's shrimpin' time" and built a shrimp tank in the Last City for freshwater cherry shrimp.
does anyone know anyone shrimp i can get for a cold water setup involving goldfish etc just like how they chill at the bottom and eat plant matter, thanks 🤘
I have a question what is that device he uses to fill up the tanks slowly. I been looking for a while but I have no idea what it’s called. Any help I’d really love to get one they’d be really useful
