The Sinner’s Prayer Heresy: “You’re Not Saved UNTIL You Call”⁉️

In this video, I address the subject of the "sinner's prayer" and the moment of salvation. Many assert that man is not saved until he "calls" or prays a prayer. This confuses the moment of salvation and contradicts the order set forth by Paul in Romans 10. Salvation is by grace through faith ALONE.

@@HillbillyBlack Matthew 7: 7 [e]Keep on asking and it will be given you; [f] keep on seeking and you will find; [g]keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will hand him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent? 11 If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and [h]advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and [i]advantageous things to those who [j]keep on asking Him! Ask, Seek, Knock. Rev 3:20. I don't agree with your rejection of asking Christ to come live inside of us, to wash us clean of sin and live on the inside of us. There is plenty of scripture precedent for it. The thief on the cross, the Sinner and the Publican, the prodigal son, etc as well as the above scripture. it's obvious. And Cornelius in Acts 10.

By His shed blood on the cross for the remission of ALL our sins Leviticus 17:11-14 King James Version 11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. According to the scriptures: the Jesus of the bible. The son of God, God the Son, God in the flesh who left glory, layed down His Glory was born of a virgin through the Holy Spirit. Lived a perfect sinless life and came to save the world through Him. Holy Trinity, Father, Son, Holy Spirit 1 John 5:11-21 King James Version (KJV) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Thank you for responding to my earlier comment. A few months ago i watched one of your videos. I grew up thinking that prayer was necessary for salvation. Usually when I hear anyone say something contrary to what i believed in salvation I instantly knew it was false (such as repentance and baptism are necessary), when I saw your video though I knew the Holy Spirit was speaking to me. I realized at that moment from all the scripture you gave that we are saved the moment we believe. Truly "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." I fear many in my church believe prayer is necessary. I want to talk to them about it and show them all the verses ,but if they come to Romans 10:10 I feel like they'll say that you believe and then when you pray you get saved. I would respond saying that we are made "unto righteousness" when we believe, but I know they'll say that it doesn't mean salvation. They will deeply hold onto that verse and romans 10:13, how would I defend that we are saved the moment we believe? I don't completely understand what you mean by salvation from the day of the Lord in this video or how we know that's truly what's talking about.

@@donpetty7584 We are rewarded in heaven for our works, we don't earn our salvation by repenting. 1 John 1:8-10 tells us if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we trust in ourselves and our own works of repentance we will fall short of the glory of God. Matthew 7:21-23 is a great example of people who will trust in their works instead of doing the will of the Father by trusting Jesus (John 6:40). Notice in verse 23 it says "I never knew you" not "I used to know you but you lost your salvation". The repentance regarding salvation verses refer to repenting of unbelief, by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour. Trusting in Jesus Christ as your Saviour is the only way to heaven. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. (John 3:15, 3:16, 3:36, 6:47, Acts 16:30-31, Ephesians 2:8-9, Just a few verses)

@@legendaryeagleknight No idea what you disagree with me about. John the Baptist, and Jesus said, "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand". One must have a humble spirit of repentance from sin and willingness to turn to Christ for salvation. That is a volitional choice on our part, as is turning from temptation from then on. Philippians 4:8 choosing to think on things of nobility, whatever is right, pure, lovely, admirable, praiseworthy is a choice we make with our will. So is choosing to repent. Yes, some will miss salvation. The Pharisees trusted they were God's children because they knew the scripture. But it isn't knowledge of the scripture that saves a person. Christ, Himself, is the life giving Spirit that redeems and cleanses in conjunction with the scripture. (In Spirit and in truth. Not just the truth, only) Again, Jesus said, "Repent", a command. He wouldn't issue such a command if it were not possible for a man to choose to repent by the power of the Holy Spirit. I didn't earn my redemption. It was a gift from God, the Father, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He called me and drew me, starting at age 5, culminating in my salvation at 19. I recall gripping the pew bench in front of me at age 5 as the invitation was given. I hadn't heard one word of the sermon. But God was drawing me during the invitation. I didnt know what was going on. I was scared. This happened several times at age 5. At age 19 I felt the drawing again. It went on for a couple of weeks until I talked to the pastor of our church and he led me to Christ, through prayer.

Believing and calling upon the name of the Lord is the same thing. You are confusing this matter. Romans 10:14 is explaining that someone can't call upon the name of the Lord if they don't believe. It's one and the same. Obviously, you can't call upon the Lord when you don't even believe in the Lord. It's not a separate action after you believe. How can you believe in the Lord and not call upon the Lord? Makes no sense.

Incorrect, Romans 10 sets forth a logical, chronological order. Is sending the same as preaching?, preaching the same as hearing?, hearing the same as believing? No, But I’m to assume that believing is the same as calling? We are saved by grace through faith, not “by grace through faith and prayer”. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7SNPYquUKX0.htmlfeature=shared

The imputation of righteousness does not come before salvation- it literally is salvation, we are righteous based on our belief in Jesus Christ, King of the universe and how He took our place. It is finished our sins are gone, he Has victory over sin death and grave, one can respond by believing, receiving, calling- but Jesus is clear when He promises all who believe will be saved. Just read the gospel of John over. Christ makes things simple not complex because He wants none to perish and all to believe. Those who believe = saved. Those who do not believe are not saved. Very simple. And it is all done by Christ not because we played some acrobatic mind games with twisting scriptures around and over analysis. Lets make things clear, simple and filled with grace as Christ did for us

I’m not connecting the 1 st part with the 2nd half

Romans 10:13 is a quotation of Joel 2:32, which refers specifically to a deliverance/salvation from before the day of the Lord. It’s imperative to understand that the word “salvation” is not always referring to salvation from the penalty of sin. It can be referring to salvation from the power of sin (in this life), presence of sin (at the rapture) or physical deliverance from trials, enemies, etc. The sequential order laid out in Romans chapter 10 clearly demonstrates that a believer (saved individual) is calling upon the name of the Lord. This is what believers do throughout the word of God as seen with Abraham, David, Stephen, Saul, etc. I encourage you to check out this playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PL2x4gz8z19J-6e6zLQJQJrxU51NKLw3Q1&feature=shared

This reminds me of the assertion of Paul Washer when he says, "How do you know that you have believed?" Jesus teaches us how we know we have believed when he told Peter," You are blessed, not because man has taught you to say what you believe, but, because it has been revealed to you by the Father". Belief requires revelation, Revelation requires hearing from God. My sheep hear my voice. You don't hear God's voice, you are not saved.

@@HillbillyBlack "asking for forgiveness is continual and not limited to a single initial start" You speak much truth, HillbillyBlack. I just want to tweak something a little bit in this part of your statement. The reason being entire denominations preach continual repentance without people having fully repented. Therefore, they transform repentance into a ritual that never results in actual conversion. This is because all humans are so thoroughly pride ful that no one can fully repent by themselves. As you say we must be drawn to Christ by the Father. Complete and total repentance that triggers conversion is only possible when God reveals His glory to you causing you to fully understand your wretchedness compared to His perfection and power.

Where are you getting that Believing is equal to salvation from here? according to all this it is saying that You must believe first, but you are not saved until you Call? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without [f]your works, and I will show you my faith by [g]my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You make this more difficult than it is.....Paul is not talking about all that stuff you said, he is simply saying "how can an unbeliever call on a God in whom they haven't believed in or even heard of and how can they hear of this God without someone telling them about Him? So then faith to believe comes by hearing the word of God being preached. Also, 10:9 should be read correctly this way, "That if thou shall confess with your mouth that Jesus is LORD (all caps; OT name of the Father) and believe in thine heart that God the Father raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved". It has to be translated this way due to verse 13 refering to Joel 2:32 speaking of LORD (Jehovah, Yehovah, Yahuah, Yahuwah, Yahweh). Further proof is Philipians 2:9-11 where Paul is quoting Isa. 45:20-23 and should be correctly translated "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow......and that every tongue should "confess" that Jesus the Messiah is LORD (Jehovah, Yehovah, Yahuah, Yahuwah, Yahweh) to the glory of God, the Father". And yes, this is about salvation.

Thanks for a short video. You are straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel. Sounds like Calvinist doctrine. Do you presume upon the kindness of God? Do you believe you are special in His eyes, before you believed? Like the Pharisee in Luke 18? I tell you that God can call on rocks to be declare His Gospel. No one is special in His sight before believing (confessing our faith to Him in prayer) Romans 10:14-17 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God This is clearly speaking of preaching the Gospel. We must preach in order for the unsaved to hear the Gospel and believe. It's not enough to believe that Jesus is the Christ. We must ask Him into our hearts in order to receive the Holy Spirit and be regenerated, making personal application of that belief. Otherwise Satan comes and snatches away the seed sown in us before it can bear fruit. Acts 8: "16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit." These folks had "believed" but were not yet regenerated. Proof you must "receive" the Spirit. Belief that Christ is the Son of God is not adequate. The devils believe and they tremble. They know/believe Christ is the Son of God. Are the devils saved? Yoou MUST ask God, in prayer, to save you. James 2:17-20 "17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead). 18 But someone will say [to you then], You [say you] have faith, and I have [good] works. Now you show me your [alleged] faith apart from any [good] works [if you can], and I by [good] works [of obedience] will show you my faith." 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. So do the demons believe and shudder [in terror and horror such as [a]make a man’s hair stand on end and contract the surface of his skin]! 20 Are you willing to be shown [proof], you foolish (unproductive, spiritually deficient) fellow, that faith apart from [good] works is inactive and ineffective and worthless?" Again, a person must bear fruits of salvation. Belief is not sufficient. You must receive the Spirit to be regenerated. How does one do that? Psalm 50: "15And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me." Why not just "believe" that God will deliver you? Why "call" upon His name? Revelation 3:20 "20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me." WE have to open the door by calling on Him. We must respond in faith. Hebrews 11:6 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. That's the definition of "faith". Ask, seek, knock. Matthew 7: "8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?" We ask by calling on the Lord in prayer. The prodigal is one example, as is the thief on the cross, and the publican that smote his chest (he believed Jesus was the Christ) All cases where they called on the Lord. Case closed.

@@OnoDiamante It's not "tradition". Its clearly in scripture, as both I and you have shown. The scripture your video provides shows public confession that Jesus is the Christ. I call that public prayer. How do you receive the Holy Spirit? How does He come to live inside of you? I've already provided scripture that explains that. Ask, seek, knock. That isn't nonsense, it's scripture. For what son that asks for a fish is given a stone? The son "asked". The devils believe. They know that Jesus is the Christ. Yet they are not saved. You have to make the belief personal through repentance and receipt of the Holy Spirit. That happens through prayer. You judge without knowledge. What is silly is criticizing the very act through which a person is redeemed. When I claimed Rev 3:20 and asked Christ to forgive me of my sins and come to live inside of me, He did. That was 1969. This claiming someone like myself believes in a "tradition" is without merit. I have provided you with plenty of scripture to back up what I am saying. Your claim is without merit and dismissed with prejudice, counselor.

People please stop using old King James. It's not more accurate or spiritual. But it sure is pretentious and annoying. This isn't 1611 and you don't walk about talking like Shakespeare 😒

@@halcyon289 sorry I think I was extra tired and grumpy when I wrote this. I could have made my point without being so snippy. But yeah, I was serious about the point. I just don't understand why people publicly use OKJ. There are so many other accurate translations that are in updated language. I mean it would be pretty weird if I sent off emails, or talked to you in person in old English. If the point of sharing is to communicate clearly with others, then OKJ works against that practical purpose.

@@christopherj9744 The other bibles change words and leave out entire verses. God's word is found in the KJV . Consider Acts 8 : 37 . This entire verse has been left out of the N I V , the ASV , the ESV etc. When you understand the context of this verse, it changes the whole reason why the eunuch was baptised.

@@christopherj9744 It's not called the OKJ, it's called the KJV. All other translations are perversions.
