Adam, you missed out in Vernal, UT. A huge amount of big dinosaur bones were found there over the years and it has a big Dinosaur National Museum and Monument area. “They spared no expense!”
@@cag19549 Colorado generally is gaining in population. We don't have to worry about sea level rise from global warming here, and we're one place out West that doesn't have to worry so much about the Colorado River declining! (just my twisted gallows humor. There's lots of reasons to live in Colorado!)
Wow! I can't remember the last time I saw a merry-go-round. When I was a kid, we used to get that merry-go-round spinning as fast as we could then let the centrifugal force fling our bodies across the playground. I'm surprised no one broke any bones. Ah, another rite of passage.
Sounds like my childhood! One of my classmates temporarily ended up in wheelchair from the merry-go-round! I miss tire swings and see-saws / teeter-totters!
80s ????!!!Boy ,are you young!!I was having a blast back during the 50s/60s on those merry go rounds & metal slides!!I am 66yrs old & grew up unscathed by those so called unsafe playground rides!!!
Hmm my question how many kid's were actually injured back in the day? Not me or anyone I know! These days they say everything is unsafe! And it's gone! Does anyone take the time to teach their kid's anything or take their eye's off their phones to actually spend real time with their kids? Just curious!
Duchesne is pronounced Due-Shane. Vernal, Ut is known as DinosaurLand because of it's Dinosaur National Monument. Should've stopped and asked a local what was going on. Lots of Dinosaur findings...
Oh these pronunciations are killing me LOL!! Heber (and Weber) both have a long ee sound... Hee-bur and Wee-bur. Duchesne is pronounced Doo-Shane. Vernal is Vern-ul. Been really liking the videos on my home state of Utah. I've done this drive quite a few times, and it is always beautiful and very enjoyable. The science nerd in me loves this area of the state. Too bad you didn't check out any of the dinosaur stuff around Dinosaur National Monument in the Vernal area, the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, or the Natural History Museum of Utah in Salt Lake. This be dinosaur country and is also a massive ancient sea bed (Lake Bonneville), so we have some of the best fossil collections, geology and natural history anywhere. Thanks for giving Utah some love, the videos were great!!
Such a HUGE thank you going out to Adam today! You even found a few roadside oddities to look at in Vernal UT. My son and I both got to watch his birthplace together this morning. Wishing you continued safe travels. 💜💜💜
Thank you Adam for considering Vernal and Dinosaur national. I hope i was able to influence you for this video. I was certain you would find some roadside attractions. You may later in life comeback and drive the northern loop towards flaming gorge. The drive down to Rifle Colorado from vernal is also quite beautiful. The national park in vernal is a fun quick visit for some dino fossils. Now we share some history.... Glenwood springs great choice for the night. In Denver don't forget the train depot in downtown. Might be a fun place to fill your Coffee cup.
So glad you finally made it through Vernal and Dinosaur. I took a trip there a couple years back and enjoyed myself immensely. Too bad you skipped Dinosaur National Monument though. The Quarry wall with it's hundreds upon hundreds of embedded dinosaur bones is a wondrous thing to behold.
Fun historical fact! The Stegosaurus at the front of the museum at Dinosaur National Monument in Jensen UT came from the 1964 World's Fair where Disney premiered Small World and other attractions.
Back in early 90s. (90-91-92) I took a two week trip from East Tn. To Yellowstone. We did parts of the Oregon Trail. We ended up in Cascade ID looking for hot springs. Found them. With 4 days to get home we set out south to Salt Lake, then across to Dinosaur, then Aspen to Denver. While we were in Dinosaur we went to yhe Park. At the toll booth the guy told us that back country hiking was closed for the week for a Hollywood production filming. We ask which film. He did not know the name but did say that some of the actors he had seen he believed it to be a Star Trek movie. The rumors at the wall of fossils was it was but there wasn't many people. Later found out it was Star Trek Generations. They filmed the whole trying to intersept the ribbon scene.
Those are Scottish Highland cattle - even the females have horns! They are getting to be a very popular breed here in the USA! Those aren’t all bulls- probably lots of cows! Their meat is less fatty than Angus or Hereford cattle, but they do tolerate and prefer cooler climes!
Not only is the merry go round rare to see these days, but so is the double slide that is seen behind it! We had that very type slide at the park that we used to go to when I was growing up. Fun times were had back then!
Hope you do a video in Glenwood Springs! My family would get together every summer and spend a few days in Glenwood Springs. The largest hot Springs pool in America, rafting on the Colorado River and great little tourist traps everywhere! So good.
Good morning Señor Woo ! Adiós Utah 😔 Thank you for showing us this beautiful state . Because of you , I want to go to some of those places you went . Wow ! Look at those shoes up on the trees 😳 OMG ! I love your videos a lot. Keep it up sir. Good day .
Oh man, wish you would sightsee in Glenwood springs for the day. It's a fun town with a lot to see. Including hanging lake, Glenwood caverns, and an amazing hot springs pool. Hope you enjoy Denver though, go to the buckhorn exchange for dinner, it's the oldest restaurant in Colorado and has a good selection of unique meats.
@@thetravelingal9497 It's fine. Sightseers in other places in the Rockies have more to worry about the blight of dead trees from Mountain Pine Beetles (which is related to fire hazard). The Grizzly Creek fires were really close to I-70, but they weren't large enough to ruin views, IMO
Hi Adam. You bring us along on so many great places! Thanks for bringing us into the adventures with you! Have a wonderful, magical, and safe weekend 😊
WOW, the sights to see along our less traveled roads. I find them fascinating. I always enjoy the beautiful murals. There certainly were enough dinosaurs, for sure.🙃 Thanks for another enjoyable video, Adam the Woo.👏🤗👏
Sad I missed you we were just south of you in Montrose when you were in Dinosaur CO. So close and yet so far lol. Colorado rocks - enjoy if you're still there we are back in MN today. Adventure on ❤️
Hey Adam I know it's probably not possible 'cause they are probably sold out but you should try to catch a Tampa Bay Lightning, Avalanche NHL game while you're there in Denver, lol .Would be amazing for you to document....There is another game on the 17th.
Thanks for all your travels. People throwing their shoes up in a tree and they name the park after it. That is Wild. Adam Thanks for sharing Utah and Colorado.
Adam, I'm hooked on your channel. I like watching your daily video's. It's amazing on how you can video during the day/daily travel, upload at night from hotel room and publish the video the next morning. Great Job! 👍Uploading to RU-vid SD, HD quality at times can be a challenge. Sometimes it takes days for RU-vid to process my 4K quality content. Keep up the great videos and safe travels!
that's rather complicated, as far as changing trains, and so forth. Los Angeles to Chicago is a lot more practical. Train travel in the U.S. generally is not very good. I went from NYC to New Orleans a few years ago. Interesting, but I'm not enthusiastic about ever repeating the journey.
@@daewooparts Right, like rural areas aren't full of oxycontin, black tar heroin and meth-heads. So crime free and welcoming! And all the wonderful little main street stores bustling and thriving!
Welcome to Dinosaurs 🦕 land! Yabadabadoo! There’s probably a gold mine of 🦖 dinosaur finds there for sure. I bet those little towns hold a lot of little secrets too. Franz the bear was impressive as well as that herd of cattle in the shade. I was hoping they weren’t aggressive carrying those long horns! Thanks for all your hard work❣️🙏🏻❤️👍
Howdy Folks! I camped in Vernal 2 years ago to have a base for my geocaching and exploring trips to Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado. I enjoyed that trip very much and will be moving to Vernal in September to work and discover more great things in the Uintah County area. I can't wait to return. Fun video, Thanks Man!
Just east of Dinosaur, headed to Craig, is some of the most beautiful scenery, and camping, imo. Around Maybell the herd wild horses down the highway. I love this whole area.
Stranger, the Metal Slide. We used to cook ourselves WAY back in the day on hot summers on those things The bull licking his shoulder is a Scottish Highlander Welcome to my state... Colorado. And there is the Dinosaur National monument. TONS of Dino's found there, they have a museum Make sure you wave
I liked this episode. Especially that sideways windmill thingy. (I am angry with Denver. They must need more oxygen) Don’t anger my Woo🤨‼️ Enjoyed Utah Tho. And this drive. I can lick my shoulders although I never knew until this moment❣️hahaha. The things I learn from you. 😚😉👍💝😎🦕🦖🐾
Anyone else here just try licking their shoulder too? lol Also, those bulls were full of it, and what can I say, people get tired of tires. If I met someone from Dinosaur, Colorado I'd probably ask them ..." Jurassic of all them dinosaur fossils yet?" --This way to the cafeteria!
Adam, really enjoyed your vlog! Never been to Utah but, have been to Cripple Creek, Colorado. Thank you for taking me along with you on your road trip! Beautiful out there!
I remember when downtown Park City was a ghost town. A few years ago, my son was a census worker up there, there are a lot of temporary residents. I’m glad you’re documenting old stuff in Utah, there seems to be a push to tear everything down.
Good morning Adam I was watching the buckees poo video yesterday and heard a noise saying or what you may call it that I haven't heard in awhile. It's when you are revealing something... Shak kaka acon. Just a touch of nostalgia from 2014. I think you need to use it again for the remainder of the road trip. #bringbackthewooisums 😃😃
Thank you for sharing your travels. Dinosaur Colorado who knew so Cool. You know it made me laugh when you mentioned loving side of the road quirky and odd attractions, a good friend has mentioned that I looked strange and a bit weird when she passed by while I was doing yard work. I will tell her hey I would rather be referred to quirky and odd:) Rewatched the Buc-ee's video I haven't laughed so hard for a while Thank you Safe Travels😀
omg! you have to come back to vernal sometime man we have so much awesome stuff here you would love! me and my wife were so stoked to see you came through our home town! love it man! the town actually just rasied 30k to repair the green dinosaur in town its been there for years!
What’s up Adam. Saw your recent RU-vid vid and looks like your headed through my area of Colorado. You should check out the abandoned mining town of Gilman if your headed through on I-70. There’s a couple of pull offs to check out the town on Us route 24! I would take that road all the way to Buena Vista and then to South Park and then check out Pikes Peak America’s Mountain, you can drive to the top of Pikes Peak highly recommend👍
The Big green Dino in the road in Vernal is usually decorated for holidays. By next week it’ll be decorated for Father’s Day. Vernal/Jensen…the gateway to Dinosaur National Monument.
One thing you might think about while your in that part of the USA is that narrow guage steam train that runs between Silverton and Durango CO . I rode it as a kid in the early 70s .
Thank you for going to Park City ,UT where they had the 2002 Winter Olympics and the Sundance Film Festival every year. Does you sister and brother-in-law live in Utah now? Great that you got to collaborate with Provost Park Pass. Nice to see both videos on the Donut Rock Trail hike. Chris and yourself were surprised with all the water in June. Amanda and Miles are so nice to work with as well as Chris.
There are so many cool things to see and do in and around Vernal, UT. Some of them include Moonshine Arch, Battleship Rock and the Dino Tracks near Red Fleet, Fantasy Canyon, Devils Playground, Dry Fork Canyon and the McConkie Ranch Petroglyph Trail, the Dinosaur Museum, the Dinosaur Quarry and Josie's Cabin on the Utah side of Dinosaur National Monument. Then up to the Flaming George Dam and white water rafting down the Green River. They also have a world class rodeo in July and a hot air balloon festival in August. It's a great place to visit.
We just left Vernal to drive to Salt Lake today. We went to Vernal to visit the dinosaurs. Nice to see your experience on the trip. It was hard to return to all the traffic in Salt Lake. Road trips are the best.
