How Matt and Trey got a theatrical movie after only making the show for three seasons still amazes me.

The "My name is Jeff" bit at the end made me feel like a fossil, dude.

I think a similar movie could be made today. Trey and Matt write, produce, and voice all the episodes still, and their humor hasnt really changed. They absolutely have enough money to fund their own movie without any outside help, and as much as there will be people who dont like it, there will be a big enough audience to make it lucrative.

Great to see Dumbsville talk about one of the movies of all time on it’s 25th anniversary

This is one of my favourite movies due to it's commentary on parents that don't treat their kids properly and the movie's execution is amazing

The movie itself may have some dated humor and moments, but the core message and themes revolving around censorship and blaming the media for bigger societal problems has aged phenomenally. Back then it was conveyed to be a reference to South Park as a show, but you can apply these ideas to how people that don’t know any better react to movies, shows, video games, practically anything that they didn’t grow up with and is new. That alone cements it as a good movie. Then you get to how the movie is a whole ass musical, and Trey and Parker get to flex their solid musical writing skills. Like, they give Satan a Disney Princess “I want” song that’s performed as Gospel music. That alone is pretty great and it’s a fun ironic meta bit of comedy. There’s a RU-vidr named Blooms that talks a lot of South Park and can pretty much summarize why this movie is good in a better way than I can with a RU-vid comment. All in all, good start to Classics month, I look forward to what’s next!

I watched this movie around two years ago, when I went to visit my online crush. We hanged out in her bedroom and watched the entire thing, since she is a South Park fan and wanted me to be into it as well. This movie will always have a place in my heart. i disagree. i definitely think it could be made again. trey and matt clearly aren't scared of repercussions. if they had the idea for a movie/episode and it was that offensive, they would still do it without regret. these guys were the same guys who featured the prophet Muhammad in 5 of their episodes and got death threats from secret online terrorist organisations, as well as bounties on their heads. (they were even warned not to do that episode and STILL did it. respect). everyone also says that team america would get made today either. these guys would definitely do a sequel to team america if only they didn't hate working with puppets so much.

Looking back on this, it can be said that, in fact, adult animation NOW is what really makes Bigger, Longer, and Uncut stand out now. No matter how many times South Park makes good content, it will never achieve the cultural zeitgeist it had in its earlier years, BECAUSE it did so well then. There's too many other adult animated sitcoms, all of which try to copy South Park, that it makes the original less unique in its own field.

I AM 22 BUT have developmental and intellectual disabilities to the point where I have the mind of a child. I can definitely be taken advantage of, and HAVE been manipulated, it’s really scary. I’m deemed in need of high support, I can’t get a job, I’m deemed non consenting, I don’t really have the capability to make choices for myself, I’m basically a kid. How I view the modern world is how a child would, I cant grasp super complicated subjects, i can’t cook, I can’t clean, on top of a whole other bunch of stuff that non disabled people take for granted, I like cartoons, I have meltdowns, I like Lego, toys, comic books, sweets, I still believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny (although nowadays watching cartoons are becoming less and less of a niesh I've noticed) I live with my mother who i'd be lost without, im asexual so i don't even WANT to partake in those types of acts with anyone. However mind you, little kids can get crushes too, their just different from adult or even teenage crushes, my first crush was a girl I knew on my street when I was 8, the reason I liked her was because we both liked Lego. It certainly wasn’t sexual or anything like that, it was just a crush I didn’t understand. Even now when I have a crush on someone it’s always in a very non sexual childlike way, I just wanna play with Lego and watch movies and be their for each other. I hate that autism to some people is just “special interest hehe quirky” when their exists autistic people who’s life are ACTUALLY negatively affected by it. I've seen some kids learn something as a 12 year old but i cant even begin to comprehend it, My father abused me my entire life, he punched me and strangled me when he was angry, he alienated everyone in his family and even when I was diagnosed at age 12 he STILL didn’t even believe I had autism. Not to mention my Christian school would target me for bullying and targeted harassment because they knew I was too timid to tell giving me life long trauma, then had the gull to try and kick me out so they didn’t have to deal with me, which my father blamed me for, My mother eventually had the sense to throw my dad out of the house, which of course he blamed her for. He went on to start a brand new family to replace me. Yeah I had my nana who always cared and mom who did her best with her crappy circumstances so I at least had some resemblance of a support system. I still get called nasty names when I go out, including the r slur. I feel like it’s never going to end, like going on is just another day I’m stealing oxygen from someone more deserving.
