I got the lightening engine running. I got the lightening generator running . I got Leyden jars collecting . I got batteries storing . I upgraded the gears and gearing ratio to spin faster . Now I’m gonna join the lightening engine to lightening generator.

ahhh, you're holding out on us with that motor. that's a nice one. Remember, that ugly spot on the cones where the vinyl overlaps goes at the bottom where hopefully no one will see.

Loving the Time Machine build, you just need a cigar like stick figure to sit in the chair like the film version had before George sent his model into the future.

I have that one as well. Also bought an upgrade electronics kit to motorized it. Mine also is not finished. It requires a LOT of clean up. I can show you mine so far. And such. My FB contact can be found on the 2001 model building sites. Right now I am knee deep into the 2002 movie version of the Time Machine. Over 300-350 kit parts plus all the hundreds of added bits. I was watching the Time Machine by George Pal and noticed that the real machine's disk has the same warp in it. Ergo, the kit is a faithful reproduction!

Hi Wayne I would if you could help me. I noticed when you are doing small things you wear magnifying glasses. Do you wear these over your normal glasses or on their own. I have a set that you have to use on their own so I'm rendered almost blind when I take em off

Loving the build guys! In this segment, I would like to ask a couple of questions. First off I THANK you for saying DEE' kalls not DECK els. What are the red, green, and yellow lights? Are these LED's or sleeves with LED's inside. Are they part of the kit? 2. What is that motor? Source? I think this, or Lou's little direct drive gear reduced version is superior to the bevel gear, big motor idea. 3. Can you kindly direct me to the UV resin glue (and bottle with needle applicator) and UV light? I also like the brass color on the rails....just gold paint? Perhaps you guys could specify your paints and such for us following. GREAT and FUN videos...love the 3 way builds. Each of you guys have your own strengths and takes on this kit. Thanks RICHARD STIERS

Absolutely brilliant my friend! I'm liking your motor idea. No worries, I've shorted out a board or two in my days as well. Shit happens. Do you think there'll be an issue with heat having the motor encased like that? Also, that's going to put a lot of pressure on that joint from the weight of the arm and the dish. It's going to be very interesting as to what solution you guys come up with. I'm still up in the air on wether or not to buy this kit.
@WorldofWayneUK
@WorldofWayneUK 2 года назад
The motor runs quite slow so I don't see it building up that much heat. It will disappate anyways in the large area below it though :D

Blast it, Man! You did not show the right-angle geared motor out of the housing. A lot depends on how you plan of supporting the whole thing-- that pie-tin is rather heavy at the end of that diving board.
@WorldofWayneUK
@WorldofWayneUK 2 года назад
Yep another challenge I am looking at but I think I have a fix. The motor I used is here . shop.pimoroni.com/products/right-angle-micro-metal-gearmotor?variant=32348276588627

@@WorldofWayneUK Thank you kindly, Sir! That is one cute little powerhouse. I think the fellow who did the metalwork for Phil should have re-figured the entire thing as one piece. Now you're counting on glues and epoxies to do the work of taking that right-angle stress. I think the right-angle gear head is pretty good as far as overall weight goes-- same as Phil's all-in-the-sphere solution. But I am less comfy with burying something forever... !

Hi Wayne, I've ordered the thin red and black wire from America that you have used here. I want it wire all the leds/ via Arduino to my 1/8 deagostini mustang, will it do the job?

Yep. No probs at all
@elizajayne2888

The original disk doesn’t work correctly. I added another disk and some modifications. Now the disk generates energy . I got my lightening engine running. The tower isn’t working properly. I replaced the insides and now it to generates energy . I fixed the accelerometer so both engine and generator increase power at same time ... The Leyden jars and batteries are collecting and storing a huge build up of power . My design doesn’t plug into a wall or run on batteries.. the batteries are only for starting up the perpetual energy machine . Free energy....

Wayne....if I was building this model I would definitely use a right angled motor(like you show in this video). 200rpm still seems a little fast to me....yes you can use pwm on the arduino to control it to some extent, but I am not sure you will be able to run it at the low rpms you require....have you tried it yet? I haven't watched the film in years, so can't remember the speed the disc runs at....but I would assume max speed would be 20 or 30 rpm??? And slow speed? 5 pm
@WorldofWayneUK
@WorldofWayneUK 2 года назад
It actually runs a lot slower when load is on it so 300 rpm is about right. That equates to about 70 rpm
@TDax
@TDax 2 года назад
@@WorldofWayneUK ok....that sounds better....does it also run at the slow speed?
@WorldofWayneUK
@WorldofWayneUK 2 года назад
@@TDax Yes but I don't think it will be a noticeable as I would have liked
@TDax
@TDax 2 года назад
@@WorldofWayneUK you could try a pot with a higher resistance, although that may mean it won't spin at your lower speed. I would recommend getting a motor with a slower maximum rpm maybe 50 or 60 rpm, or even slightly lower. The other option would be to get a high torq servo....you can modify them to spin 360....and that would be able to spin at pretty much any speed you want (and is very easy to control with a pot via the arduino
@WorldofWayneUK
@WorldofWayneUK 2 года назад
@@TDax the pot meter is not actually doing anything for the resistance. I am simply using it to give a figure to the Arduino which in turn performs an instructions depending on the value of that figure. Quite clever

LEDs use very little current ( milliamps), therefore you could have used very fine wire for them in comparison to those you have used (upto 1A). Can you please STOP using the term 'potmeter', the correct term is potentiometer (pronounced phonetically as "puh" + "TEN" + "shee" + "OM" + "i" + "tuh").
@WorldofWayneUK
@WorldofWayneUK 2 года назад
lol. Try and watch me pronouce that. I stumble everytime. Even though I can get fine wires (I have them here) I still need to resist them or the lights will start dimming as the circuit becomes under load. It's the resistors that stopped me using the lifters
@richardstiers9010
