What these frauditors have been lying to you about is the court have been very clear that while filming police on city streets is legal and protected, the police CAN implement reasonable requirements to do so for officer safety and as to not interfere. See TPM restrictions. Chili constantly crosses that line and it is catching up with him. Frauditors have gotten away with this stuff for years because the court system was backlogged and police and district attorneys were trying to figure out what the right approach was. An appeal of a misdemeanor case almost certainly doesn't cost more than $10,000, despite his claim to the contrary (I've researched and written numerous appellate briefs in misdemeanor cases and never taken much more than 8 hours to do so.)

If you don’t like chilli : what he’s doing is not comfortable, I understand that. He’s pushing the edge of where our rights are as citizens. We have all felt the heavy hand of police officers and we all know they need more checks and balances they need more accountability. Chili at the end of the day is doing work that most people don’t have the guts to do. Yes it’s uncomfortable for police officers because they have to have more accountability. We need to pressure test our rights our children and grandchildren will thank him for the service. Even the police officers, children and grandchildren will thank him for creating a better future where there’s more accountability and less heavy-handed police officers. It will cost the state less money at the end of the day. I don’t understand why they don’t create a task force that separate that actually investigates these things for police misconduct.

Even if this is an outlier case in the severity of the penalty, the absolutely sickening abuse he directed at the cops on the video as he BROKE THE LAW & diverted their attention away from the incident they were trying to deal with, was more than enough to deserve the maximum sentence & he’s lucky she didn’t give him a year. Particularly since his behaviour in court & additional sentences & warrants pending, as well as his criminal history, all prove this wasn’t just him on one bad day, but him DELIBERATELY & dangerously obstructing the police & causing problems purely to make money & to feel a sense of power spewing hate at the cops. Chille has become more & more unstable & dangerous over the past couple of years & hopefully this will make him get help instead of escalate things further once he gets out. Because he’s seriously losing the plot & needs to be held accountable for his vile actions. Also, he’s not the only person doing this kind of thing & penalties for all frauditors have become harsher over the past year or so, as they are escalating their vile behaviour. So I suspect that might play a factor too. When they were first being charged, frauditors would invariably get off with probation at most. But as their behaviour as a collective group has escalated & become more intrusive & worse, the penalties are increasing too, creating reasonable precedent for a sentence like this.
