Part 3, welcome back and to the third and final episode in this 80’s review series. In this video we continue the look at Railfreight distribution and see the progress of 47 306 that has gained a few more ferry vans and is seen running with another class 47 this time 47 375 is seen with various modern vans some branded with the RFD logo and even some tank wagons, meaning this is probably a maintenance move. The 47s as usual forming the mainstay of operations long after their introduction!

All that lovely Lima!! Another great video, and really well done with some of the real life class 47 recordings, it is really hard to capture some of the deep bass tones they make and you've done it. Thanks for taking the time to make it. 😀

Great video series. Enjoyed all three videos. Loved all the locos and rolling stock. You must have a large room to store all of your locos and rolling stock. Can't wait for your next series. Bill and Janet from California

Remember dangling my feet in the clay spoil river back in the day, that used to run from the pits to open sea at Pentewan, turning the sea a very strange milky blue lol. Great work Mike, enjoyed the series.

Thanks for a very enjoyable watch, you have covered a period I don't know anything about. A great presentation and some new ideas for modelling. The industrial back scenes really came in to their own for this topic. I'd been looking forward to this series, thanks again.

Thanks for another entertaining and insightful video Mike, I did wonder what the red rectangular rail freight badge was, 50149 (049) carried this. You’ve given me more inspiration to finally crack on with my roundy layout. Loved the R/F running sessions , ATB Darren

Lots of great looking locos shot from some excellent angles, Mike. Like you, I don't tend to weather my stock, but those 2 weathered Seacow wagons behind the Bachmann 20 looked the business. One element I liked about sectorisation was that many locos carried depot plaques. Being a ex-South Wales chap, my favourite is the Cardiff Canton plaque. I'm very tempted to buy any loco sporting this plaque... A fine series. Thanks for sharing your extensive collection of Lima and other diesels, as well as your Lucas vans.

Lima really was at the top of the game back in the day! The 47 was, i think, one of the best? Its also my personal favourite class of locomotive, and I've worked on a lot of them in engineering in the 80s! My personal favourite was 47 510 Fair Rosamund for some reason? I remember the 37s with the silver bullet syphons before the advent of the GM 66s !

Agreed, ah yes I saw 47 510 a few times

Great series Mike, well done. The outro with everything parked up was a nice touch. A question, were all the sectors equally regarded? Like was one seen as more prestigious than another, or only top crews got on to metals for example? Again great work, god knows how long all that took to out together including servicing everything before setting up a camera
@ModelRailwaysUnlimited

Thanks very much indeed. Yes house was in chaos for weeks during filming etc lol. As to your question it really depended on where you were. Down her distribution especially with its channel tunnel work and 92s was a big player. But in Northern counties coal and steel was king
