this was a great video DTang. much appreciated. Videos like this are great to understand different ball motion based on cover/core combinations. Please do more like this! Great to understand hook as "Front to Back" instead of "Left to Right"

The editing that went into this simple ball review video is insane. I especially loved all the shots early in the video of walking out to your garage and getting the ball drilled. The lighting was perfect and the zooming in and out on the cuts had me mesmerized.

Enjoy seeing the complimentary equipment going down the lane to really give a good comparison with same layout and same lane pattern and surface. Loved this review Darren. I like how you compare the Proton to other balls in the line which gives you a great idea how they are shape wise. As you say viewing it front to back rather than left to right is hugely beneficial. Especially on sport shots. Great video man :D

Excellent ball review with very useful content. One of the best I’ve watched. The comparisons and where the ball fits in relation to other pieces is just what a consumer is looking for. Thanks for the insight. BTW Cool jazz is an upgrade from heavy metal too.

Nice review ! Now Mo Pinel said the strongest is the Results Solid. Storm says its the Proton Physics. Lets compare them with same layout and surface :)

The Storm Proton Physix looks really good. I'm actually looking for one that is great speed and power for both for striking and for spare shooting too. Would recommend the Physix for both or no?

Would you recommend the Proton for a THP shot? My local bowling alley does have a good amount of oil concentration, but it is a shorter pattern, and the oils burns up by the midpoint of the second game, typically. I play straight up and down, and don’t have a ton of rev, so looking for a ball I can throw straight, and let it do the work for me down lane, lol!!! If it would be a good fit, I’m assuming it would be my Game 1 Ball for controlling that aggressive cover.

What do you mean by reading the lane front to back instead of left to right? Perhaps do a video on it explaining?

Bowling balls use up energy depending on how strong they are. Something like the Proton is going to use it’s energy earlier, which makes it better for high volume patterns. A hyroad for example, will store more energy through the front part of the lane because it’s weaker. So if you throw those two bowling balls on a typical league shot, the hyroad might seem “stronger” because it is releasing more energy when it sees friction. The proton won’t have as much energy to use once it sees friction, therefore making it smoother or possibly “too strong”. Hope that makes sense. If not, visit us on twitch for a live explanation!

@@DarrenTang thanks. Do you have a really flexible thumb joint , or do you just like the more forward thumb ( not as reverse as fitting chart) and reverse in the fingers . Not sure how much you know about fitting but would love to see a video on fitting, how you got to your fit, and other pitches / fit you've tried and why you ended up where you are. Unless it's boring and you have just been that grip forever...

Seeing and comparing bowling balls by how many boards they cover isn’t exactly valid because any ball can cover x amount of boards given the correct circumstances. Bowling balls definitively hook earlier or go longer in comparison to each other. Understanding that will make it much easier to know what bowling ball to get next!

The online wholesalers seem to be more popular lately, but I heard warranty claims can be a nightmare. Friend of mine recently ordered a new high end Radical ball and it was $260 after everything, so I would guess this Proton is right up there as well
