Please note that it is not Glucose, It is Fructose that is Metabolized by our body the same way as as Alcohol, in excesses, leading to the same Fatty Liver Disease. Dr. Robert Lustig has Videos about it on RU-vid.
I’ve been sober almost 19 years, and when I quit drinking, I craved sweets like crazy! Because alcohol has so much sugar, when you stop the alcohol, your body wants to replace the sugar. Alcohol gives your brain a huge dopamine hit, so when that’s gone, sugar will also give you a big dopamine hit. Eat enough sugar and you can become addicted to it well.
Very interesting work and research has been done on this. Alcoholics have a metabolic deficiency in their brains. Lack of energy. The conversion of ethanol in the liver to acetates provides the brain with energy. When they stop drinking this energy is gone and they need the energy. Hence why the ketogenic diet has been shown to provide ketones as energy source and also shows great promise in dementia and Alzheimer’s patients. It isn’t all about glucose and spikes, the mitochondria need proper energy and fat is the optimal fuel source in our bodies. Ketones serve this function optimally.
Why the hell is it so difficult to get this information to the public? You make all of this SO easy to understand and follow. Just started experimenting with vinegar and it's a night and day difference. I've tried it before, but none of this works if it's all out of order and far apart from each other. Thank you so much! 😆 Up with health! Down with companies that just want to sell you a pill and not fix anything!
She's not a doctor and has no qualifications on this stuff. She's a wellness influencer with a nice voice. Qualified people have expressed skepticism in what she says and the mainstream science world isn't willing to push unfounded claims out to the public. That's why.
There's nothing unhealthy about butter on pasta besides the pasta. Butter is not the bad guy. The low fat dietary guidelines were a wild guess not proper clinical trial science. Book: The Big Fat Surprise by Nina Teicholz
Yeah, you ve got a problem. I have the same problem at work. There s someone there that when I talk to him, I loose my train of thought. He hipnotize s me
I understand that part and have been using more fats to combat sugar spikes (gestational diabetic, i actually started to drink more rooibos teas, not too much, but it is working for me)... The problem is not so much the patients are reading too much into sugar spikes and try to work around it... Doctors are using these spikes to determine if they will put you on medications and insulin. I understand medication is very useful in diabetes, but when it becomes the first thing doctors try to push onto patients... Some patients will try to do the work around.
It depends on Individual Body Response. To get your answers you can follow up on Eran Segal RU-vid Videos & his book The Personalized Diet. Conclusion: Everybody is different. For some Ice-cream - no glucose spikes but brown rice - huge. Some have glucose spike after the most expensive Organic, Sourdough, Artesian Whole-wheat Bread, some don't after cheapest commercial highly processed bread. It is all Individual Response.
I find this clip to be very confusing, given her other videos. Why is it okay to use other fermented liquids (like vinegar) to stabilize blood sugar, but not alcohol? Why is it bad to add butter to pasta when elsewhere she implores us to “put some clothes on your carbs”? I think some more explanation is in order here.
Because too much alcohol is bad. And by putting clothes on your carbs means to add a little protein before the carbs like a few almonds. It seems this helps your blood sugar not spike up as much.
In my understanding Alcohol is a category of chemical and not all alcohol are consumable , ethyl Alcohol or ethanol is one which iusually used for human consumption. Alcohol or other breweries is made when fruit juice is fermented . Beer and wines are calories dense drinks which can spike blood glucose if not done in moderation . The affect of alcohol on human body is quiet unsafe specially on CNS( center’s nervous system ) and liver , it can spike BP ( blood pressure) , increase appetite which will again cause blood glucose to rise , alcohol affects your judgement and willpower which lead to poor health habits . Alcohol like vodka Jin sake are low calorie and less sugar drinks , when consumed from moderate to excess level they can drop your blood sugar level so fast that you can become hypoglycemic ( low blood sugar) which is again dangerous situation, so again not a safe option specially for type 1 diabetic patients. So if you look at affect of alcohol on human body when compared to it’s little to negligible benefit then it’s not worth of considering in my opinion. When alcohol is further fermented from it form something called acetic acid Aka ( also know as ) Vinegar . Now here is the thing not all Vinegar have nutritional value and help in control blood sugar or can be consumed. white or distilled vinegar has no nutritional value so it’s used in pickling as preservatives and cleaning option , where as ACV has good nutritional value which helps in blood glucose regulation when compared to balsamic vinegar which could spikes blood glucose , it all depends what was the source of this vinegar . Vinegar is used as antibiotics and anti infection agent , it helps in cardiovascular health specially in BP and great in blood glucose regulation. Vinegar are acidic in nature so when consumed in concentrated and excess amount it can cause corrosive injury in human body like oesophagus and in gut . Vinegar has much more benefit in blood glucose than alcohol and relative way much more safer and economical . There are two types of fat saturated and unsaturated. Saturated are solid in room temp like butter , cheese , pork etc . Unsaturated are liquid in room temperature like olive oil ,sunflower oil , walnut , avocado etc . Saturated fat causes cholesterol . So with butter and pasta example , butter could be a good idea to control the carb as in pasta but all that butter which required to cover all pasta could bring more harm then benefit , sure it can help in the lowering blood glucose spike but what about cholesterol level and is that all fat is good for your heart health ? Put some clothes on carb doesn’t mean the clothes ( protein and fat ) always have to heavy and fancy :) Maybe pick some carb which doesn’t need heavy and fancy clothing once a while ? Salmon can be made in olive oil along with quinoa or rice (Salmon your protein , Quinoa carb ) Like sweet potatoes are good carb they need lighter clothes protein like chicken . Banana is a good carb and Scrambled egg good protein . Hope this helps:)
Everything in Moderation, Even Ancient Greeks knew that. I do glass of wine with dinner. Studies are inconclusive regarding these small amounts of Alcohol, or are contradictory. I still have a reference from study in Australia (National Mutual Health Management) from 1990s that 3 standard drinks per day had the lowest all-cause mortality quoting 1995 International Journal of Epidemiology. BUT I would definitely decline to go to 3 drinks per day. I guess on one hand there are benefits of Glass of Wine, in particular Red Wine but there is also relaxation and also I would say Lowering Blood Glucose spike is advantageous here. Obviously Alcohol has the same impact and is processed the same way like Fructose by our body therefore leads to Fatty Liver disease in larger quantities
@@mareks360 True, but also that depends on how big glass we're talking about. My mother in law has 40-50ml of vine at lunch and dinner practicly ever since she turned of drinking age, she just turned 84, and only thing she has is thyroid issues all her life and parkinsons for the past 5 years, but both are so much so under control that she still does everything on her own at home.
Everything in moderation. Even honey, which is so healthy, can be very bad if eaten too much. One glass or two of alcohol a week is awesome, but every day is too much
It's not about the butter it is about the pasta. She is saying don't eat pasta. Don't cheat and better just eat the butter with some eggs and meat. Pasta has almost no nutrients. just 60% sugar.
@@holistics.made.simple I've been on carnivore for 6 months and for me it is one full bar of 250 grams. 150 grams is doable without problems if not eaten too fast.
@@makingapoint Not to make a fight in the comment section, but Low Carb is just superior to Carnivore. People say they do it for ancestral reasons, which just betrays their lack of understanding of history and taxonomy. Humans are and have always been omnivores.

The body naturally produces alcohol. All carbs (and proteins through gluconeogenesis) turn into alcohol> formaldehyde>vinegar>ATP for cellular energy. Drinking alcohol makes the liver metabolize it and not release more glucose and the body deals with the byproducts at the same time all while doing their normal functions so more glucose is used up because of the extra work in the system. Drinking vinegar is basically the same idea since vinegar is closer to becoming ATP. There's more steps in metabolizing alcohol so it will use up more glucose. That's why fermented foods and drinks are energizing.
Im prediabetic and i dont really restrict myself in enjoying tasty food. When im about to consume a high carb meal, i always make sure to pair it with healthy amount of healthy fats like avocado or nuts and protein! This helps me not to strain my pancreas and avoid glucose spike ! 🎉
This is a dumb question But if you have a high qual. butter like grass fed or something, and you want to gain some healthy weight, what would be wrong about having a lot of it in meals? Indigestion of absorbing it? Saturated fat makes carbs stick to the liver? Curious.
All i can deduce from this is that a zero carb diet may not be perfect. Some complex carb will be needed in decent portions. Otherwise, our lipids levels will hit the roof.
carbs are available everywhere. Even in foods you think have "no carbs"> so it makes no sense to consume pure carbs like rice and sweets when you've already consumed the required amount thorough everything else
Not all alcohol, drinks like whiskey will probably achieve this but can result in lower than normal blood sugar levels, as you will still have glycogen being released and that will cause your pancreas to release insulin. Also working out releases glycogen, from your liver and muscles which causes a “spike” but when you push through it will stabilise
I eat 5 dates overnight soaked in milk with muesli along with 2 egg vege omellete (potato, onion and green chille, tomatto doesn't suit with milk to me so I abandon ). Will 5 dates be considered sugary ?
Hello mam. Can I eat sweet fruits like banana, orange in the morning? And also the maple syrup for the avocado smoothie? Does that increase my dopamine and glucose level?

There is a definition of standard drink: glass of wine, mug of beer, shot of liquor - all pretty much an equivalent. I do glass of wine with dinner. Oh yeah give me that 80s mom look with a french twist shes more sassy than she lets on and probably washes her fanny packs every sunday night for her morning power walks😂❤
you continue to equate butter consumption with "that would be unhealthy." This is incorrect. Healthy fats, aka BUTTER should be used in PRECISELY the way you describe.
I really like her content but…Hmmm I tend to watch more and more for her outfit and which designer chair she will be in 🤔. I tdo hink she definitly has a sense of style and fashion…. that I appreciate.
OK !!!!!! OK !😅😅😅 Im in ! NOW I'M GOING OUT ON THE TOWN FOR A HUGE PORTION OF PASTA WITH A HUGE AMOUNT OF BUTTER & A BOTTLE OF WINE !! And I'll call the evening My Flat Glucose Party ! I know it's gonna be very popular ! Not done this for YEARS, so Im going to let loose just this ONCE & let the devil ride !!! No guilt this time ! That's a double -wham ! 😅😂

That would totally explain why being drunk leads to being sleepy or fall asleep randomly. No energy release from the liver, so well you go off😅 how many things explained why don't they do this at school too, I believe in a world full of way too unhealthy food would be good to inform people about all of this.
I think you need to give more context. People will get out of this that you are recommending to drink alcohol to be healthier. There is no way a health professional is actually recommending to drink poison.
