THE SWEDISH ANGELIC CHIMES "ÄNGLASPELET" | MY SWEDISH CHRISTMAS CALENDAR #8 

My mother is Swedish, and she raised us with Swedish Christmas traditions here in the US. There have been angel chimes on our Smörgåsbord since I was born in 1953. My children, and now grandchildren have enjoyed it their entire lives, as well. Thanks for creating this series!

It doesn't feel like Christmas, without my Christmas chimes. Although I am American, my mother always incorporated the chimes, and I think my Swedish grandfather was responsible for passing on this tradition ro her.

I remember having these in my childhood (1960's) and your video makes me want to get one for my grandchildren.

As a child in the USA in 1950's my parents had the same angel chimes and lit the candles for us kids during Christmas week. We looked forward to that tradition every year. I have decided that I want my own angel chimes for my home now that I am retired so will be purchasing one this Christmas and hope to find a vintage one at an antique store :)

This is magical! My grandma has being having such beauty for about 40 years! So we in Russia have your angelic chimes too and I didn't know that it was invented in Sweden! 💕

I used to have an angel chime when I was first married, many years ago., but it disappeared. I had forgotten all about it until you mentioned it. I will have to get one for this Christmas.

I bought one yesterday, it has little pine trees around the base and little tiny houses spinnin around when I light the canle in it. It's so lovely. Thank you for the idea!

We had these in our home when I was very young and I was always fascinated by it. I grew up in a suburb near Milwaukee Wisconsin. My parents grandparents, both sides ,are from Poland. I just ordered one for myself just the other day 😀 I absolutely love you and your videos! 🥰🤗🤗

I have one that was in the attic of a 1958 house my ex and I bought in Dallas, Texas. Time to get it out!

My mom bought one, I'm 61 and I remember that from my childhood, not sure what happened to it tho, mom passed in '04. Thank you for exporting to the states.

Yep my family in Germany has the traditional kind and I love it! It made out of wood in three floors and with a number of candles around ☺️

as a child in england in the 70s n 80s, my parents had one and it fascinated me, at that time is was very old, possibly from my great grandparents? it must have been rare to have them in england, because my friends didnt have them in their homes, i dont know what happened to it. as an adult ive never seen them in shops in england, but i have two, both bought second hand probably from car boot sales or similar place, judging from the packaging, reduced colours, font, etc ,they are old, 50s 0r 60s? maybe earlier, and they are foreign, i cannot understand the writing. maybee they use to be popular in england several decades ago before my lifetime, maybe english christmas use to be more european, before it became americanised, ive never seen them in english homes as an adult.

I have something similar from my childhood. It is wooden and rotates the nativity. I have to special order candles to fit. The paint needs touched up as well. I'm 41 so it is very old.

Having been inspired by your video on Swedish Chimes, I ordered some from Amazon, identical to your snowflake type, this was quite some time ago, they still haven't arrived 17/12/19!!!! Maybe they will arrive in time for next Christmas, I think they are shipped to the UK all the way from China !!!!!
