The fact that you guys have talked about even if someone checks a gun and racks the slide or charging handle in front of you and then proceeds to hand it to you and you yourself checks it actually reminded me that its the exact same thing that I do to my younger brother even though i trust him with my life than most of my family has really opened my eyes that not only my brother but myself at some point has had the knowledge and taught gun safety by someone else properly and grew up knowing what we always thought was common knowledge but opened my eyes to the realization that not everyone grew up that way and somehow unlocked some long lost core memory of mine and i really appreciate that and the fact that you guys are talking about all of this and trying to get people to acknowledge that no matter what, the safety around firearms lies with you and the knowledge of the user/owner of the firearm. Thank you for all that you guys do and the knowledge you put out there!

Small clarification, Permits are Shall issue, so everyone gets em except if you have like multiple criminal records, even non violent one time offenders can still apply f.e.. Mrgunsandgear changes the 4 rules of gun safety to "know the status of guns at all times" rather than "treat all guns as if they are loaded". I like this because it forces everyone to instead of immediately assuming a gun is loaded to immediately checking the gun to ensure it's loaded for carry or unloaded when out of service.

I’ve always tried to tell people that human being weren’t meant to live in cities stacked on top of each other like bugs surrounded by concrete asphalt, metal,plastic,noise,etc. with zero privacy.Crime rates in cities are what you get when you force that way of life on people and remove them from enjoying the beauty and peace you get when experiencing nature right outside your door anytime you want. It blows my mind hearing city kids see a deer or a pine cone for the first time and not know what the hell it is.

I think your points also helps the anti-gunners: They will say We the People are the problem, so why give unfettered access to a deadly tool to so many stupid and/or irresponsible people. As you stated in minute 46, I think your points on societal and parenting issues in the U.S. is exactly why the government feels the need to regulate guns - How do you fix a society that believes they have the right to abuse their rights, don't have to follow the rules, and don't care about their community? - The government says we will become the parents and regulate the people. I think the societal issues you mentioned are on point, but I think we in the gun community have to get on board with maybe paying higher taxes to pay for more mental health services, crime reduction through community and youth programs and job investments in poor communities. Sadly, many pro 2A representatives also refuse to fund social programs that would reduce crime and suicides, they say nope, which gives the anti-gunners more ammo. The second half of your talk is wishful thinking. The industrial revolution changed the independent lifestyle you wish more people would partake in and the technology revolution has made it impossible to go back to that lifestyle. Massive cities have existed for thousands of years and living in them will always be desirable to humans because everything needed for life can be found in a city. Our economy relies on corporations, like big pharma, so good luck changing that. We absolutely should continue to fight for our 2A rights, but how we fight needs to become more sophisticated and take into account all the societal issues that was talked about, not just protecting access to guns. If we deal with the underlying problems that underwrite the gun control arguments, we will kill the anti gun movement. Start by stop saying the government is our enemy. The government is made up of our fellow Americans who we need to work with in order to achieve a more perfect union and deal with the problems that put 2A rights at risk.

IQ isn't going to be downstream of education. That is to say, you can't teach someone and increase their IQ. The average IQ is going to be downstream of nutrition and other environmental factors. For example, the more lead you have in your drinking water, the lower your average IQ is going to be. So average IQ being correlated with gun crime might give us an idea of where to look to improve the crime. The same things causing worse nutrition and more environmental hazards may be the driving factors for a lot of crime.

So, service guarantees citizenship, and something given has no value? The main issue I have with mandatory service or taxation in lieu of service is if a person doesn't support the governments choice to go to war or support a proxy war. If you were only ever used in the defense of your country then that would be ok, but then the government starts the old "In order to better defend your country you must raze someone else's country on behalf of this other country we are friends with, also unrelated look at all this free stuff we have now." I am trying to be less owned by the government, not more owned by them.
