Happy 30th birthday, Manjimaru! This is a trailer for a series of videos that will explore the legendary Tengai Makyou RPGs on PC Engine, as well as the sequels and spin-offs on Super Famicom, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360...at least that is the plan. Yeah, the rest of 2022 is probably going to be all about Tengai Makyou/Far East of Eden here at Import Gaming FTW, for better or worse!

Gameplay was captured on real hardware using the AverMedia Live Mini and video/audio was edited using Sony Movie Studio Platinum Suite, Version 12...so a bunch of old crap.

Yeah, I found it interesting he lists Kabuki as a favorite character. You can't really form bonds with Japanese games to such an extent, especially RPGs in not understanding a single word. It would be epic if RetroTranslator Tom and EsperKnight finally finish their fan localization project on Ziria some day!

@@ImportGamingFTW All you people keep bringing these Far East of Eden games up but never try to translate them. The Turbo Grafx-16 community all they do is make god awful homebrew games like Insanity and FX Unit Yuki but never want to translate all these RPGs for PC Engine. Y'all just keep making videos but the passion to make these games English friendly finally is never there. I'm almost 40 and buy the time I even learn another language I'll be almost dead. Unreal man. Bunch of idiot gatekeepers in the Turbo scene.

Wow! Really excited about this! Will you touch upon the cancelled/beta version of Tengai Makyou III Namida on the PC-FX? I still look at the fantastic concept art (by Tatsuyuki Tanaka) and wonder "what if?". Although I've never had the chance to play Far East of Eden myself, I've been fascinated by the series for such a long time. Hopefully, this retrospective will give some exposure to a series that sadly never found its way to western shores. I can't wait to learn more about their development!

You know, I've fawned over Mr. Tsujino's Tenagi III PC-FX art over the years, but I've never seen Mr. Tanaka's until now...or if I did, it was over 20 years ago and I completely forgot about it. Fantastic! Thanks for pointing it out to me! I've already asked Mr. Tsujino as much as I could about Tengai Makyou III PC-FX, but he didn't have TOO much to say about it...I sincerely hope myself--or someone else--can talk to someone involved and give us some more info in the near future.

Hello again i came up with an idea. I think more people may watch some of your videos if there's a fact in the thumbnail. like on the OH NO! one maybe it can say: TBSs weird Ps1 running game. And in the noobow one maybe it can say: a 2d platformer starring morinagas forgotten mascot. This way i think more people who se the thumbnail will think this sounds interesting i want to learn more.
