I heard a Teskey Bros song around 3am on JazzFM (UK) a few nights ago. I'm sitting with a cuppa, thinking 'there's the first Otis Redding song I've never heard before!' only to find it's the Teskey Bros. Have since bought all three of their albums! :-o Can't get enough of this band! :)
The first time I heard this song all I thought of this is Otis Redding from Stax Records in Memphis, TN in the mid 1960's. Come to find out this song was written by The Teskey Brothers in 2019, who are from Australia. Their brother Josh is the second coming of Otis. This song makes me cry every time I hear this cause the words are so true.
Josh Teskey is from another realm! I am so glad I got to hear these guys, while I can enjoy it. Didn't think at 65 I would hear this soul sound again. Don't mind admitting, makes you feel warm and fuzzy. You're reactions to them are brilliant. I know you have more suggestions for them, so do yourself a favour & play Paint my Heart, from the Circle Sessions, or Just Josh Teskey from the Gondola Sessions doing Crying Shame by himself. Yeah you definitely ruin it with the stopping it all the time, you got to let the voice play through to get the whole soul, once you stop it and start it again you lose stuff in between, save your comments for the end
