I think that may have been in anakin's head, at least the second time they said slave. But when they said "a slave to his emotions" that probably made him tic and it rang in his head.

The 2D Clone Wars miniseries does touch on this a little, even showing us him being knighted, but it does mostly focus on his first experiences as a fully fledged jedi.

In the comics Anakin goes to dozens of places with Obi-Wan And even saves his life 9 times, it's all there for Disney to use, so they should just use it, I stead of making a bunch of different characters that no one really cared about in the first place *cough* bad batch *cough* Mandolorian *cough* (I liked the shows, don't get me wrong) or maybe fill in some of the lost time we have with Luke Imbetween episode 5&6&7&8, that would've been awesome

@@zambie1629 potentially, we didn’t see any cameras but Star Wars isn’t that consistent with cameras and could just easily retcon it to say that they just weren’t in the shot. That actually would make sense why anakin in episode 3 tried to use the same move obi did to maul

My guess is... Anakin had to attempt to remember the way Maul fought and used Obi wan for help as to how accurate it was (he set it to the highest difficulty so even if it wasn't accurate, since that memory was a long time ago, it'd still be impressive) And besides he fights with a double bladed lightsaber he probably just coded it to look like maul and used the same "double bladed mode" for the training droid but changed the fighting style a bit to match Maul's aggression and skill then set it to the highest difficulty

Mostly because the Jedi order didn't even tolerate thinking of the darkside as anything but an abomination that needed to be destroyed root and stem. Still not sure why they even let mace use it, probably because he was the grandmaster and the rules are beneath him

Imagine being a slave for years and then being payed away from your mother because you were "the chosen one". Now Imagine having to follow strict rules and have your feelings shut down at all times. And then you get thrown into war......

i feel like the jedi teaching did hold him back, but idk i still feel he could've achieved his full potential if he worked and practiced the various light side techniques as much as possible. As an example, luke in the EU achieves his full potential through extensive practice and training, so in theory, anakin could've as well

I think he would have reached it if Qui-Gon survived and trained him, because Qui-Gon knew that Anakin had to be trained and taught differently from any other Jedi.

That’s false, Jedi teach the peace of mind so during a battle a Jedi with a cool mind would easily destroy a Sith or "vikings with billion weapons" simply because they become superior in the battle by observing and learning the moves of the opponent and knowing where the weak points are. Just like obi wan killed maul in rebels.

vikings and samurais are incomparable, because vikings were seafaring warriors. samurai were usually horseback archers. bad analogy.

Tbh Anakin was pretty much equal if not BETTER than Obi-Wan at duelling. When they fought on Mustafar Anakin was pretty much winning the whole fight and pushing Obi-Wan back. Had he not jumped across the lake, then he would’ve ended up winning

@@goat9295 Not really, anakin *appeared* to be stronger but wasn’t, obi wan was holding a lot back, had obi wan shown his 100% power anakin wouldn’t have reached the lava spot, in rebels that’s where you see obi wans power. And that’s not even 100%.

It's Anakin Skywalker, the most beloved man by the public, second only to Palpatine and maybe Obi-Wan. Everyone besides the council only knew him as the prodigy child who save them all thanks to Palp's propaganda. Besides the Jedi order doesn't have any proper emotional training, just suppress it seems to be their go to solution.

That's not true at all, it doesn't even make sense. If Vader is a different entity then where did he come from? When they say that in the canon it's purely metaphorical. If they're different people, then where does Anakin end and Vader begin? His turn to the dark side in episode 3 is slow, and we see him embracing it and then acting like "Anakin" again afterwards. Also, his last scene with dialogue after he's fully embraced the dark side and is in his Vader suit he still expresses deep care for Padme. Then later in the 2016 Vader comics series, taking place 1ABY, he still expresses love for Padme and privately refers to Luke as "my son" (not "Anakin's/Skywalker's son" like when he's talking to Palpatine). The idea of them being different people doesn't make sense with the lore of Star Wars or the story, and it also cheapens his character arc to suggest that his evil actions were not his own

No this droid was nowhere near Maul…. Doesn’t have the same rage, darkside, physical abilities or dueling skills

Nigga... Rewatch that fight.. He is dogging her.. He let's her live and tries to flee...Maul literally gets plot armored out ALMOST EVERYTIME. With no reasonable explanation... Maul vs Obi. Mauls gets defeated by watching Obi do the exact same move he opens the fight with while also fight Qui Gon..... Plot armor. Maul easily 1v1 Obi in the clone wars multiple times ,But when Savage is there he all of a sudden can't handle it? Plot armor. Maul and Savage get dogged by Sideous. Makes sense, very reasonable, easy to explain. Maul dogs Ahsoka the whole fight and when he is trying to run all of a sudden Ashoka gets some mystical magical force boost and holds maul in suspension. He mystically magically doesn't fight back and gets captured... Plot armor. In rebels Maul kills 2 or 3 Inquisitors with ease. Which Ahsoka struggles with and Kanan can't handle. Mauls goes to fight Kanan and for some reason falls of the temple? Plot armor. Maul and Kenobi final showdown... Maul sees his inevitable death. "It all ends where it began" Referencing his rivalry. In this fight he immediately uses a move BURNED INTO OBI'S MIND because it was the death blow of his master... Maul has a warrior mentality through and through. Challenging Visla to a 1 on 1 with no force. Training his body to peak perfection and not relying heavily on the force but his Martial Prowess. He needed to see that "the chosen one who will end the sith" was real before he died. Tired of being abandoned and used his family destroyed(Sideous, Lotho minor, Malachor) and taking his life into his own hands. He dies a warriors death in combat and not abandoned on some shithole. I love the poetic ending. Maul isn't who he is without Obi and Obi isn't who he is without Maul. They both pushed each other to greater heights.

Starkiller admitted in the novel he couldn’t beat Maul and that the proxy doid was weaker
