The Time the Animatronic Shark Nearly Ruined Jaws | cosmavoid

Jaws is one of the most iconic films of all time, but its production was an absolute mess. At the center of it all was a trio of animatronic sharks that caused an already struggling Steven Spielberg to fear for his job. That strife would lead to one of the biggest successes in special effects film history. Learn the full story here!
Thanks so much for watching today's Cosmavoid video. Have a specific film you'd like me to cover? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks again, stay tuned.

How is it that an animatronic shark used for practical effects in 1974 looks more real than all of it's predecessors? I mean it's more representative of a Great White than any of the other Jaws films...
@Quetzalcoatl_Feathered_Serpent
Likely cause you don't get to see most of the shark. The problem with modern audiences is they want to see the animal more and then bash it. cause that's the trend these days. '

@Quetzalcoatl_Feathered_Serpent
@@itspenguin7187 Cause it is true at least on the everyone part. I don't think modern times is horrible I do believe socially we are in a crisis.. Look at how films are seen in the last 5 years give or take. People don't care anymore about the movie other than to troll on it. Although I believe its more of a example of current society and not just simply everyone is messed up. For the most part a good portion of people are openly hostile doesn't matter if its good or bad. I believe it has more to do with the social issues now. PC idiots, trolls, Political hostility, gender or racial hostility they all contribute. Add to social media where you have people who literally made careers bashing films, people, actors or society and its just the new norm. This won't end until society stabilizes.

It really is incredible how well this movie turned out and all the little methods Spielberg used to show the shark without showing the Shark were fantastic. The use of music has never been better in any other film and then the use of the barrels in the second half of the movie is ingenious because Shaw's character constantly says that the Shark cannot submerge with 3 Barrels attached to him and yet he somehow does which just intensifies the fear.

THE SHARK WUDDA HAD TO HAVE HAD A BIG RED KEY LIKE UK POLICE USE, IT WAS TOO FAST , I MEAN THE BANGS WERE WAY TOO CLOSE TOGETHER, ALTHOUGH AFTER THE "USS INDIONAPOLIS" SCENE THAT IS JUST BEING OVERLY CRITICAL I GUESS, I LOVED (LOVE) THE ORIGINAL MOVIE, LETS FACE FACTS, FOR THE SEVENTIES THAT WAS ONE INCREDIBLE FEAT OF CINEMATICS
