@@joelskeete9709 It buffed minions and it stacked with baron buff. So a banner of command plus baron buff powered siege minion could 6 shot a tower while outranging it so the only thing a team had to do to push the enemy base is to protect it.
if only we could have 8 debatable banns and when two teams vote 4 times the same champ both champions are banned. Would take longer but damn it would be effective.
@@markurbanowicz6619 i play league since season 2 and considering how many champs there are its pretty well balanced, only worst players complain about champion being op.In each ranked game you have a ban,so just ban one champ you can't deal with, and think about how you should deal with "op" champs if you have to face them, even strongest champs in game meta can't really beat you if you don't let them gain lead.I play mostly mid so when i come across champ that counters me i just place wave in nice position and then call jungler over for gank, and then repeat that till opponent tilts and starts yelling at his own jungler "enemy jungle came 5 times you did nothing......"
@@DungNguyen-jz7of pre season 5 where the redsmite was on each attack making that plus that devourer staking, put on some more on hit or something like sunfire (also adds damage) you oneshot people with ur ult. Cleance/qss didnt work either since you wouldnt cleance/css the damage and then you could aa q earlier meaning youd do the same damage.
Yeah they should’ve mentioned banner, but stopwatch was just one OP item that everyone could buy, there was still healthy pick diversity and stuff, it was just frustrating that everyone and their grandmother had a stopwatch. And Ekko top was also just a single OP pick he didn’t really define the meta
I'll crack laughing. Gotta see the duo jungle twitch-taric where twitch has sunfire and taric has ardent censer. Just Ap Yi or weedwick can save us from that
It would be more balanced and deep than what we have right now. That is the type of thing league needs, creativity, finding new uses for obsolete things is what changes metas, but the league community is so butthurt, crying for nerfs to any creative or fun strategy instead of adapting and countering it and expand the meta even more, right now everything in the game is not very good tier wise, and in every patch there is a coinflip to see what gets buffed or nerfed creating boring metas and not letting them get expanded. Adding back all that crap at the same time would make a huge chunk of the roster viable again and would bring back viable playstyles and strategies long since dead that were diverse and fun, but got nerfed or eliminated because kids complained instead of even trying to learn, adapt and counter. Better to have everything broken and usable instead of everything bad and nerfing anything good. In fighting games you get congratulated when you have a weird but effective playstyle, in league they cry for nerfs to anything that looks "offmeta" and flame teammates that use them, and riot has too little competitive integrity and will just listen to noobs complaining and keep making skins and fucking up the currency system instead of fixing the core of the game.
@@vitomassignan2170 Not really. The game currently has "Healing abuse" Making Melee damage dealers that stick to you harder to kill than a tryndamere in his ult.
omfg forgot about that....to prove to my friend how broken that was i went sunfire cape iceborn gauntlet top soraka and hard carried a match with it...
Ad Nidale Top, tank karma top, clepto viktor top, ekko top (aka i don't gona die), banner post buff (OMEGALUL), old riven (search patch history), draven on release, zed on release (omai wa shinderu), permaban old kassadin, post rework rengar and irelia, old irelia, everything is a tank meta, machinegun ryze, perma root ryze and some others that i don't remember. Rito is doing a great job.
post rework rengar? i know he was really tough to play against lots of different builds lots of map power but it was not at all contested hardly even picked champ. They revert him not because he was so op but because he was just weird and not the way how they wanted rengar to turn
@@Fishbro "A small price to pay for salvation" Tbh I got reported many times on EU for trash talking the enemy team, I never got a ban or any sort of punishment because I haven't really used proper insults, nor I flamed my teammates whether they were inting or not. Most I did was call the enemy team trash and that sort of stuff.
@@moh4del trash talking the enemy doesn't result in as many bans as teammate trash talking does. But you can get banned for civilized conversation on this shit game.
Nah that one wasn't too bad since if enemy team had a ff jungle you had at least 20 minutes of peace before he became relevant. Devoure is something else.
@@Luerye Sp4zie was above 1m subs, and he was getting a lot of views on his league content. He stopped posting lol content and he just lost a lot of subs very quickly. Same happened with Keyori. If you build your entire community on a single thing (like Sp4zie and Keyori with League) you for sure will fade away, with some notable exceptions (pewdiepie with moving away from gaming, though he was smart enought to not enterily drop gaming all of a sudden like Keyori and Sp4zie did).
apparently everyone enjoyed the Kogmaw metas. There were 2 different Kog metas. One was AP kog poke, one team picked kog a bunch of poke a peel while the other picked team fight, and it all depended on how fast the team fight team could get items on the tank and adc. The other Kog meta was the Protect the Kogmaw which also had Trist be the secondary adc in case Kog was banned. In that meta you had to end the game before Kog/Trist got 3/4 items and enough levels to 1v9 with Nunu, Lulu, Janna peel.
Atmog was pretty toxic. The game basically revolved around which top laner and/or jungler got the combo first. Then you became unkillable, had a ton of ad, and enough crit chance to justify an IE if you were that far ahead.
@@decemberdan it wasn't as bad as cinderhulk meta imo because back then, adcs were stronger early spiking off one item (BT) and could dictate laning phase with better play. atmogs or force of nature would be broken in today's meta, but back then it was offset by the earlier spikes of damage dealers.
the season 5 tank meta i managed but season 6 i ended up quiting lol, when the game is 4tanks/supports and an adc it sucks to play (from a trash assassin main lol)
Regardless of how many hours you put into mastering certain champion or meta, it only takes a single patch to put all of that into trash can. Now we have ARAM as the most played map and you wonder why.
It could be just me but I found the season 4 meta of lane swapping and duo jg really interesting...the early game was like a puzzle that u tried to put together and smart adaptions came from it
it takes a lot of planning and strategizing to pull off the lane swap meta, but it was horrible for spectators. Even though the players are making minute decisions in game, all the viewers are seeing was "oh theyre pushing bot lane. And top lane. With no opposition. Oh now theyre at the inhib." Probably fun to play but not fun to watch.
@@MagnaDrake me and some friends did something similar the patch aftershock came out We all took teleport and at Level 3 I think we all backed and then chose one lane and ran down it and took the turret then tp'd to a different lane to do the same thing It was really dumb until we started to get better at doing it and were consistently at inhib at about 20 minutes on at least one lane
I could tell you that the lane swap meta didn't actually exist outside pro play, and for spectators it was just tedious. Even casters themselves pointed out that the game was just PvE until 20 min
Man that juggernaut meta.... I remember the moment they announced it, just before worlds, and it only took a moment to think "huh... that's probably a bad idea."
@@RoastedPheasant im not talking about the relic Shield for ardent censer, im talking about the meta that the adcs used relic Shield plus overheal in the for infinite Shield , its not the same
7:18 there's nothing that I miss more than that meta. I started playing support just because of it. But now right ruined everything and we cant even ward more than 4 times at a time.
@@theaveragecodpl4yer no that was feral flare or whatever it was called being ridiculously broken. wasn't just warwick, but he was the biggest abuser of the on-hit effect with his ultimate
@@theteamxxx3142 That's because most people weren't degenerates and picked that shit. Nonetheless, I used to ban either Darius or Mord back then. This year however, I changed to baning Akali, always.
@@Hechyyy that is their own doing though lol, literally no one asked for so many champs or items. We all just want a fun, balanced game. But Rito is obsessed with 'change'. The irony is that because of this focus on change, nothing actually changed.
Lane swap meta was actually only in competitive, and it brought out insanely smart play out of teams, made the game more strategy, loads of players and coaches said they want to see it back in the game
no reason to put a "meta" for a single rune, it didn't change the style of play. you just saw lower kill games, not people changing anything how they played or picked. thats what a meta is brother. which is why i feel like BoC "meta" wasn't included - picks stayed roughly the same, its just that everyone adapted into building banner as well, comparatively to ardent meta (supports becoming exclusively enchanters) and cleaver meta (mage play dropped significantly in solo queue in those few days)
@@TheFernieErnie dude wveryone was taking it cause it was just so effective. It made everything safer and early game skrimishes were basically decided on who can abuse stopwatch better
"Oh yeah. That thing that ruined worlds and got Regi so upset that he initiated talks with Tryndamere about franchising the NALCS and changed the release schedule of patches forever." And we can't forget that it gave us one of if not the greatest LoL meme "Love me some Regi".
It's because of Riot's "Best Efforts", that there's cracks in the first place. I remember a time when the game was completely balanced and pretty vanilla. You add more stuff, it's gonna create problems. Then Riot tries to fix them the wrong way.
you forgot the tank meta where you could basically only pick shyv and mundo, with renekton as a poor mans second if one of them was banned. it was eventually stopped by trundle (sort of), but for a while they were just impossible to play against.
@@alex_romancino I stopped playing some time after that. Not because I didn't really enjoyed it anymire but because I had gotten into CS and preferred how one death isn't responsible for an overpowered enemy for the rest of the game
@@alex_romancino I tried it again once and was just so outdated regarding items champions and patches that I didn't get into it again. The fact that most people I play with nowadays regard LoL as a “salt mine“ didn't help it

@@Denji23 it's very easy to balance this game. Nerf mage items, they are cheaper and better than any AD item. there needs to be more magic protection items. they need to make Ap items more expensive and less effective. They need to nerf certain mages. There's a whole list of how OP mages are atm. And to tell me they are doing a pretty good job is kinda stupid.
The very first months of league were wild! I remember going bot gragas with a Morgana. We didn’t know what we were doing but it was fun and no one was toxic back then.
Remember the time when QSS completely removes any effect and skill? Say for example, Zed's Deathmark or Fizz's fish? Oh and leb with her death fire grasp? Oh yeah... Also when brutalizers were a thing 😂 oh and let's not forget Thunderlord's decree
It's a really hard game to balance though There's so amny aspects that have to be taken into consideration. Buff an item? Isn't it going to be up on certain users? How will it affect champs that have to go against enemies that build that item? (etc, etc)
@@randompie6793 It's not hard to balance. It's Riot philosophy on its game. They keep changing and changing and changing. LoL is a always-on-development game. It will die before it's finished [or balanced].
season 2 support meta sucked for people who weren't willing to play the role, i miss it and find it really enjoyable bneing able to go to dota to get that sort of true support experience that league has all but lost
I think broken unfair metas are sometimes enjoyable to play. For example, the stopwatch fever was kinda funny since everyone had a free zhonyas active that encouraged some players to make more risky plays.
Anyone remember S1 when you could stack Sunfires on Amumu or Warmogs on Mundo? Or Sion having the highest AP ratios in the game and a 9000 second point and click stun that one shots??
Gold funneling is #1 to me. All of the other metas were varying levels of broken, but at least multiple things were broken at so you could play other things and it generally only affect specific parts of the game. Gold funneling changed the entire game and affected the entire map. I quit because of that meta.

Been a while since I watched a video from you guys, but just saying this cuz whoever Dimitri is, KEEP HIM! He is an amazing addition and enjoyable to listen to (had a hard time watching before due to hosts seeming a bit disinterested while Dimitri has a great enthusiasm)
Empmortakaten most of what he says is entirely right, look at vlad and riven being broken, look at mage meta, look at vertical jungling. He’s usually right but people pretend like just because he says something whatever that thing is is suddenly wrong.

Just so you guys know bonus health makes you land 5 man ults on sej. Then when your whole team wipes them you can look to your health pool and say thanks.
Barely affected solo queue, zed jumps on jinx does 3 full combos, Rama hits w heals for all damage, it wasn’t that bad, it’s okay that only the bot lane mattered and everywhere else was worthless.
Funfact: despite the fact the Juggernaugts ruled the game, Worlds 2015 is the most diverse World Championship series. And dude, only the junglers are limited, we have enough choices on the top lane (Darius, Fiora, Renekton, Rumble, Gnar, two banned champs, Hecarim, Riven, Olaf, even Malphite,...)
I'm impressed that you talked about Cinderhulk but not about Cinderhulk top builds. For a while, all people were playing was tank-Fizz, Hecarim or Shyvana top, all playing with smite and cinderhulk.
