The Truck Market Finally COLLAPSED. And Buyers are DONE Overpaying!

I traveled to several dealerships to show you guys what current inventory and easily identifiable discounts look like. Not only are interest rates super high right now but MSRPs have gotten out of control. Thankfully many of the dealers are finally coming back down to Earth on their pricing below MSRP.
Thoughts?

The constant complaints about inferior vehicle build quality in Mexico are a curious thing. Look at any construction site here in the states. From personal experience, Hispanic workers are the majority of workers building houses, buildings, high rises, sky scrapers... From childcare, to skilled trades, to painting to landscaping, to the service industries, to retail, to blue collar work, to white collar work, to law enforcement and first responders...the list goes on and on. This country would come to a grinding halt without hard working hispanic people. We criticize vehicles being made in Mexico. Yet here in the states, the big 3 get a pass on the criticism for decades and decades and decades of making overpriced short lived garbage and we're good with that? Im fine with Jeep making 💩 and selling it. The issue is....why price them nearly 3x's what they're actually worth? You want to make a Tacoma or Maverick in Mexico? Go ahead. If you do, why charge so much for them when the entire country knows how much you saved on labor costs in doing so? Blaming whatever clown is in the whitehouse at the time doesn't fix the big 3's greed and 'shottily' designed short lived engines and drive trains either. Bailing out auto manufacturers helped them out. But it didn't help us. This time, let's bail ourselves out by not buying. This time, we need to win this game of chicken. They have their market adjustments. Not buying from them, is our consumer counter market adjustment.

The only way to get any response from American auto manufacturers is to just stop buying these overpriced pieces of junk. As long as people keep purchasing these high cost/low quality vehicles and creating a demand for them.....manufacturers will be more than happy to supply them. In order to get their attention, buyers should avoid purchasing any of these late model trucks.....and encourage them to just reinvest down payment on new truck into current vehicle. And whether workers are Hispanic or white, the quality comes back to the manufacturer's standards and margins/tolerances. If they wanna make crap....let them. But they should only get 1/3 of these inflated prices! This 'market adjustment' increase is bogus, and buyers should boycott all the BIG 3 US truck manufacturers.....no matter where their vehicles are built.

I'm a Chevy guy. So was my dad and his dad. I love the way the Trax looks and the overall design is good, however once you get it on a lift you can really start to see what the quality is about. I'm not impressed with the quality of build and have questions about the 3 cylinder engine. In my modest opinion, most Japanese manufactured vehicles, such as the fine Subaru you also presented, will have much higher overall quality and a more refined fit and finish. Having said that, the Trax is very affordable.

@davidw4151 3 месяца назад
Manufactures don’t get the “MSRP doubling/tripling”. Dealers do. Additional dealer markup and dealer addendums is just price gouging done by the dealers. Dealers don’t buy the vehicles at msrp from the manufacturer. Greedy dealers is why you’re paying more. Obviously manufacturers are raising prices because overhead has gone up in turn causes msrp to go up, but additional dealer markup aka ADM is purely the dealers.
@RedEyeC

According to a federal reserve chart I've seen, the average new auto was $30K in 2012 and approached $49K by the end of 2023. A 63% increase in a little over a decade is not sustainable. Salaries have not kept pace. Demand has been flat. Material cost has likewise been stable, other than a 6 month to 1 year period when the "supply chain" was disrupted during covid. In other words, a big part of the increase has to be price gouging. When consumers stop overpaying, the manufacturers will lower their prices.

1) Park one next to an F150 and think about Driver vision... The viewing distance in front of the Ford (etc) is Terrible. You wouldn't ever see the pedestrian. 2) Don't walk in the road? 3) Best chance to AVOID a pedestrian? Rear wheel steer and a fast steering rack.

Didn't Ford introduce the Lightning with a ridiculously low starting price then pulled bait and switch? Same thing with the Maverick. Kinda started by Musk when he promised the $30K Model 3. He also started the vehicle pre-order/reservation nonsense.

Yeah, I think owners sign a contact that says they could get sued like 50k. But I’m not sure that’s actually legal to not let someone resale their property, but a lot of people can’t afford to find out against a mega company like Tesla. Maybe that’s why they’re all 50k marked up haha.

I can’t blame you, they’re good cars. I was able to drive a Plaid shortly after I started my channel and holy cow. Not the most fun car I’ve driven by any stretch, but nothing I’ve driven even up to 7xx HP feels like it even could stand the slightest chance in a race. The plaid ruined acceleration for me haha.

I think TSLA and all the car dealers are in serious trouble right here right now. We are staring to see price rejection. New EV prices are delving, USED EV prices are crashing. Anyone who bougt a car, especially an EV within the last few years is way underwater... unless they paid cash. This situation will only get worse as we go into a recession or depression.
@rogerstarkey5390

@@bpb5541 EVs are a "new" product, going through the transition from "Early adopter" to "Mainstream". Of course, EVERYONE who was screaming "WAH! EVs EXPENSIVE!" ears ago is now complaining because the NEW prices reduced, meaning the USED prices followed.... The difference? EVs have that Excuse "CAR" prices are crashing. EVs will be fine (At least the companies which can build at a profit.... AH! That's ONE company!)
