At age 32 female, I was diagnosed with osteopenia after randomly breaking both my ankles within 8wks of each other just by walking across the lawn and stepping into minor pot holes. Was an avid rollerblader, never broke a bone in my life and was completely fit and healthy. Completely bizarre. You made a statement that made me realize…. Osteoporosis and therefore Osteopenia is reversible. This is really good to know. I’ll be working on that.
@@user-tt9jx5ms1h Hello there, I found your comment interesting, but don't understand what you are saying. I'd be really grateful if you clarify what you mean by EMF, and Quantum bone please.
@@robhole3273 I believe that EMF stands for electromagnetic field which is radiation given off by any kind of electrical device, primary among those that are considered significant or "bad" are cell phones and smart meters. But any kind of device that runs on electricity produces electro magnetic radiation. The other stuff I haven't a clue.
@@stuartmoore6310 Thank you Stuart, i appreciated you taking the time to reply. You helped confirm what I suspected. Interesting point regarding smart meters. Glad I don't have one! Cheers brother ✌
I was diagnosed with osteo 22 years ago at age 60. I am not sure they were truthful. I am 82 now and no bone problems. I just keep active and eat like a country girl: Very little packaged lab-made/factory-food for me! Cretainly no sweets or grain-based foods, no seed oils! Just coconut oil, olive, avocado oil, lard, butter and home-made ghee! Sardines, macarel, catfish, shellfish, chicken, venison, pork, goat, and lean beef. I make my own herbal mixes, smoothies, v8, bone broth, ghee and sourkrout....Two hours in the kitchen every day! Make time for reading Scriptures, prayers, walking, and preparing meals every day. Skip television and cut short your freaky social media. Then you'll be good to go and grow old with a smile on your funky face! Otherwise do as you like and drag around on a walker with an oxygen tank up yer nose and meds by the millions, adult diapers, depression, boredom, bellyfat, swollen ankles, aches and pains till you wish for death.
you sound like you may have a faulty parathyroid which may be stripping your bones of calcium. If you have not already been tested you need to see a real Doctor immediately. If your problem is a bad parathyroid you need surgery to remove it. Don't worry you should have three more.
Two organic scrambled eggs or an omelette, a D3+K2 combo supplement and 2 mile walk every day. Don't know yet if my osteoporosis has reversed, but I feel so much better. I can even sleep on my back again for, maybe ten minutes at a time where a year ago I couldn't sleep on my back at all. Got to think the eggs are playing a huge role. I'm 69, cheers.
What made a huge difference for me; in order to sleep better, without hip pain going down in legs, and for painless weight-bearing on hip-joints; was taking a collagen supplement... It was as if a miracle - in less than a week! Then started preparing home-cooked sult to consume regularly.

I remember in an archeology class how they identified the different type of soldiers at battle sites by their bones. Archers forearms, one was larger than the other forearm. Foot soldiers entire arms were bigger bones than the other because of wielding swords depending on being left or right handed. Bones get calcium based on need, which is determined by stress. 😊
I've scanned bones for twenty-three yrs for the bone density score. Thank goodness someone like you are working for the truth. Please put out a video on the harm the osteoporosis drugs cause.
I refused to take those drugs. With K2 MenaQ7 180mcg; vitamin D3 2,000 I.U; and Magnesium 400 mg my spine Tscore went from a -2.3 to a -1.5 in 24 months. Hopefully with the next scan in 2 years I will be above 0 and normal.
Thank you Dr Berg. You have extended my life, I'd bet by 30 years. I learned I have Osteoporosis and been doing all that you say here with supplemenrs, vitamines and minerals. For 1 plus years I have been on Good Keto and IF. Sugar, Salt, Carbs, Alcohol, Oxalate FREE. Also I no longer eat processed foods, fast foods or restaurant foods. 4 years Gluten Free. All my issues have improved. Sadly I lost my left kidney, but now ALL my labs, CBC, kidney panels have maintained at great and above normal ranges. My Stage 4 CKD is normalized and my right kidney is doing so well. I NO LONGER get 7mm hugh painful kidney stones! No more surgeries all year! Not 1 stone! My extremely high blood pressure was 203/99 for years while on 2 meds. Now i take no meds and my blood pressure naturally maintaines at 123/81. My EGFR is 97! No proteinuria. My Sugar levels/ glucose is curing my insulin resistant and pre-diabetic conditions. I no longer tremble and shake. My Calcium is starting to go where it belongs...in my bones. Skin looking great. Went from 150 pounds down to 124 pounds after Dieticians laughably told me i would just have to accept my weight gain at my age. My eyebrows have grown back in. NOT much pain in abdominal area any longer. I could go on and on. I LOVE YOU DR BERG. THIS IS ALL DOCUMENTED WITH ALL OF MY DOCTORS AND LABS AND TESTS. SO, now, I am strongly working on my Ostioprosis. I love your videos. Also, yourube algorithms JUST began sending your youtubes to ne again! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I picked up on the importance of K2 some time ago on one of your vids. I was diagnosed with Osteopenia two years ago at one of the regular full body bone scans offered free to all Australians over a certain age. When I saw the vid I added K2 to my daily D3 and Calcium. Just had my second two-yearly bone scan and my bones show a marked improvement. Thanks Dr Berg!
@@snn2913 NO! By taking K2 the calcium goes to the bones NOT the arteries - I wish I had discovered that before I wore my right hip out! Getting a new hip in November.
Over 10 million followers . ❤ There is a reason. And thank you for bringing this up. I was completely baffled, I excercise, I'm outdoors, I eat and drink right and I was diagnosed.
I'm 77 and recently fell - hard- on concrete, taking my full body weight on only my left knee. Hurt like a son of a gun!! But nothing broke, only the slightest swelling and took 2 days for a barely visible light bruise to appear. I think my bones are good. I'm a lifelong jogger, low carb eater for 20 years, plenty of dairy, and more recently a near carnivore.
@@mingliu4175 I generally take a multi, D3K2, magnesium, and Dr Berg's electrolytes. My doctor takes nutritional labs every year or so and we adjust if needed. I firmly believe my consistent exercise, (especially extensive walking, jogging, hiking), plus deliberate weight-carrying (still up to 50#), are part of my bone health. God bless ❤️🙏❤️
I had to look at the name to make sure I didn't write this! I fell hard straight down on concrete on my right knee with nothing to brace or stop my fall. I didn't get broken bones but I did start having severe back pain and pelvic pain. It's been a year and I still am having issues but have yet to get approved for an MRI OR CT. I rarely depend on medical system and when I do, I quickly remember why I don't trust them.
I also had osteopenia since 3 years. I had pain in several parts of my body. I couldn't even think of walking. Even if I walk 500 meters, I used to have severe pain in my feet area continuously for 3 to 4 days. Last year, I approached the Orthopaedic (MS). He suggested me X-ray, Vitamin D3 and some other blood tests. X-ray Report and Vitamin D3 test revealed that my bone had become weak and I was also deficient in Vitamin D3. Doctor suggested Calcium, Vitamin D3 & B Complex Capsules and other several medicines. I also took Vitamin K2 MK7 from my side. There was some relief but not completely. When I used to get up from the bed with the help of my hand, I used to have pain due to my weak bones. It's been 6 months since I started taking the medicine prescribed by the doctor. The speed with which I got relief in the beginning has now slowed down. The pain in my feet area was not going away completely even with the medicine. Then doctor did BMD of my feet area. Osteopenia was detected in BMD test. The doctor used to give medicine for two months every time and used to say that if the condition improves, then stop the medicine and don't come. But my condition was same as before, the pain in feet area was not ending. I did online research and after a few months I came to know about 'Calcarea Phos' Homeopathy Medicine. After taking Calcaria Phos in 6x potency (Calcarea Phos 6X) along with Calcium Citrate 250 mg and Vitamin D3, my bone became stronger within two months and the pain in my feet which was there since 3 years also got completely cured. In my experience, 'Calcarea Phos' and 'Calcrea Carb' are much more powerful than Vitamin K2 MK7, which strengthens bone amazingly, that too in just a few months. If you are thinking of taking Calcarea Phos or Calcarea Carb after reading this post, then definitely consult your homeopathy doctor. There is no side effect of this medicine. If you find it useful, share your experience with others so that they too can benefit. Thank you! 🥰
@@deebrooks9488 I take one pill of supplement daily which contains Calcium Citrate 250 mg, Magnesium 100 mg, Zinc, Vitamin D3 & Vitamin B12, because I don't eat variety of foods. Along with this, two months ago I took 5 tablets of homeopathy Calcarea Phos 6x three times (total 15 tablets) a day for two months. I have benefited a lot because of Calcarea Phos 6x, the pain in my feet area is completely gone, which previously did not go away with normal calcium supplements alone. Now I just take normal calcium supplements to meet the daily needs which I have discussed above.
I was diagnosed with HER2 hormone-negative breast cancer 10 years ago Following chemotherapy, removal of the tumor and radiation, my oncologist recommends taking Letrozol 7 to 10 years post. I recently was diagnosed with Osteoporosis, and taking Flosamax is recommended. I am taking all the vitamins and supplements that you recommend in this video, also collagen peptides and after 20 years eating no meat, I reintroduced meat in my diet 2 yrs ago. My diet is good -- lots of veggies, cheeses, organic meats, water, coffee, occasional glass of red wine. I feel like I'm on a teeter-toter trying to be healthy and active, all while taking medication to suppress hormones.
After a dexa scan I was told I had osteopenia and the first thing I was told was to take calcium but I stopped very quickly after reading that the calcium can build anywhere in the body,so I now take Vit D with K2,such a relief to watch this video, thank you x

Thanks dr B! Women - if you’ve lost your menstrual cycle and you are not old enough to be going through menopause, this is a huge red flag. I was really anorexic for years and this destroyed my bone density. Nutrients through nourishment / food are essential.
That's right. I did intermittent fasting for year and very restricted. I was not getting enough nutrients in my diet and it destroyed my bones DEXA -3.8. I am osteoporotic and only 40.. Now working with a dietician to build back.. BHRT absolutely necessary after menopause. Lifelong athlete, great diet, fit, great health, and diagnosed w osteoporosis at 57. I was sideswiped by this, and I’m convinced it’s hormonal w me(as well as thin white woman proclivity). Ladies get a bone density scan asap and stay ahead of this!

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis -3.5 score due to early menopause at 44. Doctor is giving me Prolia. They are saying if I don't take it I will be at risk of fracture. I am scared to continue Prolia injection. On the other hand if I don't take it and if I have any problem where do I go. I eat healthy, do yoga and few other exercises. Any suggestions?
@@ayashasiddika, I’m not a doctor, and this is only anecdotal, but my aunt took an injection of Prolia for years. It has a lot of side effects. I saw a photo of her recently, and she looks so fragile and weak. Personally I decided to go the hormone route. I wish I had started it earlier. I started it six years after my last period so I was 57 years old. I’ll be 60 next month, and so far my bones are good. Find a menopause specialist you can work with. That’s what I did.
I once had osteopenia, and the doctor put me on Fosamax, I woke up in such pain I thought I would have to go to the hospital. The next day I called the doctor and she wanted to put me on a different brand, it was milder she said, that I couldn't fix this by myself. I've always been a "Oh yeah? Watch me." kind of person. I threw that stuff out and did the things you talk about plus Strontium. I've had some bad falls, but never broke a thing. Had a bone test on my foot which was normal so even though it wasn't the whole scan, I think I'm good.
I have osteoporosis after taking too much prednisone for Crohns Disease. My bone specialist also said calcium supplements are no good and actually detrimental to the heart. He recommended high impact physical exercise like running to help rebuild the bones.
The only thing that worked for me was stem cells. If I tell you my story you won’t believe it. I went to Mexico because here in the states is to expensive. I found the greatest specialist. Within there months all the pain and inflammation was gone.
Main point, can take 6 years to correct the problem. Therefore, start eating healthy when young, so the problem does not occur, or the body has the minerals to correct things as hormones decrease.

Sharing Dr Berg notes here: Let’s talk about osteoporosis and osteopenia. There is no way you can build up your bone with just calcium. If you try, you could end up with calcification of your arteries. Osteoporosis is a loss of bone density and bone mass. This increases your risk of fractures. Osteopenia is the stage that occurs just before osteoporosis. It’s been found that people with osteoporosis have a much higher degree of calcification in the arteries and joints. This means a person has excess calcium, but it’s not going to the right places in the body. When dealing with osteoporosis and osteopenia, we can’t just look at a loss of calcium. We also need to consider vitamin K2 deficiency and vitamin D3 deficiency. Vitamin D3 supports calcium absorption, and vitamin K2 helps drive calcium into the bones. If you take vitamin K2 as a supplement, it may be best to take the natural form called MK7. Vitamin A (retinol) is another important vitamin to support healthy bones. These essential vitamins for osteoporosis are all fat-soluble, which means supporting your gallbladder and liver is crucial. Bile salts can help support the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients if you have a gallbladder or liver problem. It’s also essential to have strong acid in the stomach to absorb minerals and trace minerals. I would still take some form of calcium if I had osteoporosis. But I would also take these other nutrients. I would also avoid calcium carbonate, which is less bioavailable than other forms. Try to get your calcium and other nutrients from food. Other important minerals and trace minerals for strong bones: • Magnesium • Potassium • Zinc • Copper • Boron Be sure you’re also consuming high-quality sources of protein and are exercising consistently to help with osteoporosis and osteopenia. Thank you Dr Berg! 🐱👍🏿
Thanks Dr. Berg for the video. I just got diagnosed with Osteoporosis (-2.9) as 27 male, my doctor prescribed, Vitamin D3 and calcium. Your video was very informative
I remember asking my dentist if I should take calcium for my teeth and he told me “calcium has nothing to do with your teeth” I thought it was strange, but now I get it….. He did recommend, however I take vitamin C. He said this is the vitamin which supports your teeth best.
I take an Aromatase Inhibitor after I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. My oncologist’s nurse and the oncology pharmacist both told me I should be taking a calcium supplement, specifically calcium carbonate, since the AI can increase the risk of osteoporosis. I knew from watching Dr. Berg’s videos that this was not the best option so I asked my family doctor his thoughts. He said, “Don’t take calcium supplements, they clog your arteries and can increase your risk of kidney stones.” Glad I have a smart doctor, along with Dr. Berg of course.😊 Edit for update: I’ve been weightlifting 3 days a week in the gym and just had another Dexa Scan to compare from 2 years ago . The Lupron shots I receive monthly have decreased my bone density in my spine by 18% and I now have osteoporosis in my hip. Of course I got a phone call for me to take bisphosphonates and I said no thank you. I’ll quit taking the shots and have my ovaries removed instead. In addition, I’ll up my vitamin D and K2.
dr Berg, I really hope you (or some people in the comments) will answer my next question: how do I know I have a good balance between salt and water (hydration)? like I'm just confused, because on a keto diet I loose a lot of water and electrolytes (salt), but on the other hand you talk about the dangers of overhydration. What about kidneys? You recommend drinking at least 2.5 liters of water for preventing kidney stones, but how about salt in that case, I think I'll be loosing large amounts of sodium (but on the other hand they say salt is bad for kidney stones and should be avoided). I'm VERY VERY CONFUSED, so please adress this on a next video if you can't give me an answer, doctor, I don't really know what to do. I worry I might have kidney stones (because I ate 50g of almonds and 100g of chia seeds daily for the last month, gladly I also drank a lemn with water per day), but now I don't know how much salt should I have if I'm gonna have 2.5 L of water. Sorry for this long comment but please give me an answer, doctor Berg, it will help me a lot and I will know just what to do.
Normal kidneys have enough potential to regulate water and electrolytes to maintain a healthy balance.Depending upon activity 2 - 4 litres of water may be taken.Only kidneys with impaired function need water restrictions.During initial days of Keto Diet intake of water and electrolytes need to be increased due to increased loss. Why do you worry about kidney stones? Multiple factors are associated with formation of kidney stones only dietary factors are not responsible. To overcome anxiety you may check urine for any crystal or undergo USG of KUB region.Blessed be.
Just got my first bone scan at 65 and it was not good. I was surprised because I have always been active outdoors and eaten “whole foods”. Three years ago I learned about the Keto and Carnivore diets which I started right away. I cringe now when I think about the high carb low fat diet I use to eat. So I am somewhat relieved to hear Dr. Berg say that it can take up to 6 years to reverse bone density. Three more to go! I’m going to bump up my impact exercises and take the mineral supplements he suggests here instead of the medications my doctor is recommending. Looking forward to my next bone scan!
