Honestly what worked for me was quitting diet drinks too get off my addiction to artificial sweeteners, which just drove my insulin and cravings. Then I cut sugar drinks entirely, just drinking water and unsweetened iced tea. Now I'm going 16:8 intermittent fasting throughout the week and 12:12 Saturday and Sunday. My cravings dropped off the face of the earth and I'm losing weight. More importantly, I FEEL great. It's hard to describe. I feel more alert, less numb, more energetic. I eat responsibly now. It actually feels sustainable.
It's fantastic that you dialed in what works for your body and you're sharing your new habits-- lifestyle behaviors. You're encouraging everyone to look around at their own habits and start shaking things up. When you change the physical habits and mental habits, all kinds of things start shifting around for the better. Each one of us needs to tune into ourselves and our lives to figure that out. ❤
BTW I'm just figuring out what works for me, too, and intermittent fasting (IF) helps me feel clear minded and energetic. I'm on a 14:10 cycle but I'd like to shift to a 16:8 or maybe throw OMAD (one meal a day) into the mix once per month. Not eating after dinner is hugely impactful for me. My body really does need all that time for the cleaning cycle. I didn't want to accept it but staying gluten free makes a big difference for me, keeping joint swelling and brain fog down. I don't eat or drink artificial sweeteners and I rarely drink sweet drinks. I save the sugar for dark chocolate 🍫 😂. We go on a walk right after dinner and I've seen on my CGM that for me, a walk after a meal flattens that glucose curve very nicely. For me, keeping my carbs at around 80g/ day allowed me to lose 7% of my body weight in 6 mos. I lost about 30 lbs and except for a few blips here and there (road trip, Xmas where I lost a 7 lb weight gain in a month just by returning to usual habits) I've maintained the weight loss for 2 years now. I know to lose another 7% I'm going to need to take on a new habit/ another habit and I haven't figured out what that is yet... but I know I will figure it out! 😊
I had a thyroid issue that I spent almost a decade finding the proper endocrinologist that looked at my values and said NO. Took me off the meds my gyno gave me and put me on the proper meds. I also got compounded Semaglutide because I was over 40 lbs overweight and tried for that decade to lose it and had ZERO progress. This doctor saved my life. My cholesterol dropped to 167 from 314, I lost 40 lbs and I FEEL so much better. My blood sugar began to balance out because I was at the edge of pre-diabetes. The compounding pharmacy made exactly what I needed and I kept up with all my Lifestyle changes - eating better, my exercise routine, etc and it turned my life around. I am 51 and I feel like I am 25. I don’t want to die with comorbidities that the rest of my family has. KNOW your body, know your health and find the right docs for you. It might take years but they are out there. ❤️🙏🏼❤️
Don't listen to those requiring armbands for the shallow end of our genepool. AVOID doctors at all cost they are motivated by profit. Why can none of you people just eat right and excersise? It REALLY is as simple as that
Maybe try think thoughts like "If ANY of these "longevity doctors" knew what they were talking about, why are they metabolicly sick, fat, inflamed and overweight and why have none of them lived an impressive age?" It may steer you in the right direction. Good luck
And I bet your lifestyle change is what made the biggest improvement . Hope you are off cholesterol meds too. Take a salmon oil pill or eat salmon , if that’s an issue. You don’t want your cholesterol too low.👍😘
@@girlinterrupted9145 I lost 15 pounds the first 3 weeks, I’ve bounced around the same 60 pounds my entire life, normally it would take me 4 months to lose that amount.
The problem with microdosing here in the US is that the pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies have more control than the doctors. My doc was very willing to do microdosing, but my insurance said it wasn't high enough. They refuse to cover the cost unless the dose is raised every month. Why?
Just this week, a new study on Ozempic came out saying there is potential permanent vision loss. People need to slow down and make sure the drug is fully tested before they hop on it. There’s not enough long-term studies out there to be sure. Personally, it sounds too good to be true.
In fairness, he does show other sides to the Ozempic story. What I wish Stephen would do is put opposing sides in one show. This is why I like Piers Morgan’s panel debate shows.
If you are talking about this particular issue he had a guy on who talks about the 12 points against ozempic. And he had one guy who is against sugar and another who said sugar is fine. I can't remember names. I'm terrible with them. This is one of my favorite podcasts actually.
Ozempic didn't work for me (thank God) I'm the one who spent years eating unnatural, unhealthy food. Of course there will also be an unnatural, unhealthy way to lose it 🙄
Who is doing the study? If you need to lose 100+ pounds consider risk benefit but if you need to lose 30lbs exercise. The risks are real. Pancreatic cancer, thyroid cancer, malnutrition.. it’s real
Btw she said as quickly and as "I'm trying to hide this from the mindless sheep" as possible that the company that produces the drug literally funded the study. No one will listen however, and me and you will have to take care of all these guys in our old age. Yay right
@@nancyrussell4708 "the evidence for excersise and weight loss is poor"!?!? I'd have to *strongly* disagree Nancy I'm afraid. People like you have abandoned all reason. Reason is the light. Reason is the truth. Reason IS God. We are sick and tired of you guys mindlessly leading your entire species into abject slavery for the rest of human time. We are rooted of being led and governed by those without the light in them. If you are happy to be an empty vessel subject to the whims of forces far beyond your extremely limited gaze then have at it Nancy I can see your "mind" is made up. Thing is guys as you can very clearly see - *You cannot be reasoned out of a position you didn't use reason to get into* Good luck with your "health" Nancy, you'll need it 💜
Sharon looks absolutely unfabulous now. When i saw her without context i was so mortified as i thought she had cancer Then i see she is simply on O. I have always felt so so so sorry for their kids. They deserved better. But they have done so well ❤️

Can't tell where her funding comes from. Her clinic has private investment. She immediately sidesteps the question of long term data. The fair person would have acknowledged it is a risk immediately and then suggested a look at the short term data. I wouldn't trust her any further than I could throw her based on her finessed answers alone.
So many ignorant people that just follow social norms.. here let me do some research for ya how long glp1s been around ok.😂 Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) have been around since 2005, when the first one, exenatide (brand names Byetta and Bydureon), was approved by the FDA to treat type 2 diabetes. GLP-1s are incretins that can lower blood sugar levels by increasing insulin secretion. They are prescribed to help manage diabetes and for weight loss.
I'm on monjuro and I had bowel obstruction that led to hernias and extremely bad constipation...I went back on at a lower dose so my skin could catch up. People are having issues and they should be under gastric care using lactulose in conjunction.
im a sikh..i always give free lunch or dinner to get blessings..sikh temple always provide free breakfast, lunch and dinner..even tea time and supper..so please believe in free lunch..
Here was me thinking "do no harm"was something entirely different. You do realise us lot are going to have to take care of all these geniuses in later life. Yay right 🙄
I did that for years and still was pre diabetec high cholesterol and high glucose. Lived in the gym, hired a nutritionist, cut out drinking for good and got good sleep. Went on HRT. Went on thyroid meds. Nothing worked. So your statement is fairly ignorant, especially regarding those people that have issues from a genetic standpoint.
@@lizmorgan9364me too. I'm in the position you were in but I haven't started taking these meds. After looking at all the options carefully, I'm in favor of bariatric surgery and I'm working on making that happen.
I understand some people want to take a shortcut by taking a shot or a pill to get "results", however its much better for your health to eat a high protein/low carb diet, exercise and try to stay as active as possible throughout the day. It's a lifestyle that will help you lose weight and stay healthy.
Not true. Example: any more than 6 ounces of meat per serving can spike your blood sugar as much as white rice. Low carb and sugar, yes. Measure protein intake.
@imapisces1 Show your research. What randomized controlled studies have shown this to be true? Also, wearing a glucose monitor to track any spikes clearly shows that after eating more than 6 ounces of meat per serving does not spike your blood sugar. Regardless, everyone is different, and if measuring protein works for you, go for it. High protein/low carb works for me. More importantly, make sure you are exercising and keeping active throughout the day.
These GLP-1R agonists are NOT a shortcut. Patients still have to change their diets, still have to increase activity without increasing inflammatory responses. They have to be willing to inject themselves. It's not popping a pill. And patients have to manage side effects like diarrhea and decide whether they're tolerable. I think if someone has decided to go any route to improving their health they deserve support and encouragement, not judgment or ridicule.
I guess they all not fortunate enough to be basedkaren51 and the simply amazing metabolism they possess .... And what do you care if a cardiac patient has to take statins or heart meds forever ...or a clinically obese patient has to take a glp1..just what business is it of yours...you own a gym and have money to loose?
@@therealdeal4492 You have a good point. It just seems it’s being overused in a lot of situations. Everyone I know that seems to be the slightest bit overweight is taking it (Otherwise healthy people) I apologize for my rude comment and ignorance in how resourceful this drug can be for some.
I heard from an MD in a different podcast that something like 15% of patients will keep off 80% of their weight loss after stopping the drug. This means the other 85% are gaining back more than that, which I can only imagine would be heart breaking and infuriating. The stats on bariatric surgery are way, way better than that. The cost of bariatric surgery is roughly equivalent to 18- 24 mos. of GLP-1R agonists. We have 4 decades of surgeries to review, they keep getting safer, and so much peer advice is out there to help patients avoid side effects and negative outcomes.
Yes I’ve seen people who look 10-20 years older with Ozempic! It’s better to eat right and exercise. That’s how I’ve been able to stabilize my weight for 15 years.
Yep look at her face ! She’s obviously using the drug herself and looks so much older and sagging compared to videos she’s done in the last few months. Never take health advice from someone who looks unhealthy
