I had nail ridges, cracked feet, arthritis, etc aging stuff. My issues went away when I went hard core on my health. 2MAD omnivore, low carb Mediterranean-ish, no snacking, fasting 24 hrs per week, 3 days once per month. Work out 5 or 6 days a week, prioritizing sleep. Game changer for this 59 yr old.
Remeber this: You don't have to be sick, to get better. By understanding and responding to the subtle signals our bodies give us, we can preemptively manage our health. Prevention is not just better than a cure, it's a daily practice that involves constant learning and adaptation to our body’s needs.
Good gosh, the tilling doesn’t remove minerals from the soil!! It’s the mono-cropping (growing the same crop over & over) without regenerating the soil.
yeah you need crop rotation with ruminants grazing to restore the soil. But tilling damages the top soil then in blows away in the wind so it does have an effect.
Are there a lot of angry comments? Dr Mindy has helped thousands of people restore or improve their health. I respect and am grateful to her for her commitment to help others.
I LOVE his interviewing style. He doesn't let his guest just respond without having them give more details. For example, the Dr. kept saying that a person with xyz symptoms needed more minerals, but she didn't say what type. She went on to talk about fasting and farming. I was very happy when Steven asked her to name some of those minerals!!! ❤
we grow as much of our own fruit and veg in summer up in canada here, and the flavours and textures are 100 times better than anything in the store. our climate isn't conducive for all year round, but if you have time and are inclined to do so - your health will thank you for it for whatever you can accomplish.
I live way out in the country and have marvelous soil. But I am not longer doing large gardens due to age and back injuries. I do have a small plot with temporary fencing next to my house. (Wildlife loves organic food too!) I grow peas, cucumbers, squash and tomatoes. In summer I also am a customer of organic sellers at the Farmers Market. It gets a little pricey eating organic but I like encouraging local growers. We just do the best we can! And I do use electrolyte drinks and intermittent fasting to try to manage health issues.
The less amount of vegetables and fruits I consume, the better my body does. I eat very, very few. Maybe 1 serving a month of vegetables and 2 of fruit. No more hot flashes, weight loss and energy, muscle injury with super quick recovery….i can’t say enough about the ketovore or carnivore lifestyle. None of the symptoms this woman is talking about either.
Friend were the fruits and veggies truly organic? Do you have all the minerals to process fruits and vegetables? Like if you lack certain nutrients you won't produce enough stomach acid and then you could have too much bad bacteria that can create irritation/inflammation/ulcers. All meat can be great but make sure you don't get zinc overloaded and miss out on copper. Seafood can have a lot of copper but its so high in zinc it cancels the copper out. Bound copper rules so many important mechanisms in the body BUT if you're missing vitamin A (retinol from animal/cod liver oil) then your body can't process the copper and it can end up rogue and oxidizing and creating havoc. Also remember if you're eating regular fruits and vegetables you got to be mindful that RoundUp GlysPhosphates are prolly being used, that chelates mienrals out of the weeds to kill them and then you eat the produce and you're getting minerals chelated out. Then in time you end up on various prescription drugs for high blood pressure, high chilesteral and in ten years on statins you end up diabetes 2 and maybe another few decades chemo pills, etc..guess what, these all long-term can deplete minerals from your body.
I've been struggling with trying to be carnivore (or mostly carnivore) for a while, It helps but I need to combine intermittent fasting to really see results, (esp skipping breakfast)
Meat is the most medically processed thing you can eat. I grew up across the field of an abattoir, the screams at night will stay with me life long. You need fibre and antioxidants to survive..grow your own, my grandparents lived to 99/97 doing this..and they lived through two WWs and mass starvation in Europe. Many live in cities and with the cost of living crisis we can't do that..we will live 20yrs less on average..just is. 💕
Ya know, I don’t necessarily always want a “bigger guest.” I might want a smaller guest who’s at the forefront of something big, perhaps controversial. I remember reading about the microbiome decades ago when most people didn’t know what it was or thought it was nonsense. Those are the type of people I want to hear from.
There has to be more to why some people are lacking minerals. I have always had ridges, yet I have always eaten more veggies (some conventional, some organic) than most people I know. My husband eats half as many veggies and he does not have ridges.
Ridges on your nails are largely genetic. It’s a bit like saying my hair has been brown my whole life so I mustn’t be getting enough minerals because another person’s hair is blonde. I l’d take everything she said with a healthy dose of skepticism. If the ridges appear over time, or become more pronounced, you may need to look at your mineral intake - but many ppl just have vertical ridges because that’s the way they were born. If in doubt, you may like to consider getting a blood test to see if you are low in any minerals.
@@docemmettbrown3750 Yes please use discernment with respect to your individual situation. If your once smooth nail bed has turned brittle, splitting, ridged or peeling then it's likely health or nutritionally deficiency related.
My nails have ridges. My doctor said it’s from getting older she said nothing about minerals and I asked her several times what a 🤬🤬 I knew not to trust her smh
Ive been taking the fulvic mineralscis she recommends, very expensive, for two months. I still have ridges, my nails are exactly the same, maybe even more prone to breaking. Actually my bails are not stiff and brittle, but bendable and breakable. Not sure about this fulvic mineral brand. Its 70 bucks. There is another brand which is thirty bucks and comes in a glass bottle. The Bright Minerals one doesnt. They say they have a special plastic that wont leach but i dont know
I think she is stating her opinions vs facts. I am not saying that she is wrong but she doesn’t come across as credible when she says things like, ‘I really like regenerative farming at the moment.’
@me-lg1yw I understand where you are coming from. Then, I started digging into my own research. But I do know she can back up her opinion with facts. Just do your own research. It is quite intriguing.
No, it's not. At least, it shouldn't be because we don't buy inputs and pesticides. And remember, a conventional carrot has no vitamins so you are buying diseases. The organic one, feeds you. The conventional only makes you full
Oh my God so many doctors I'm in your opinion so many things they say they learn from school where who's sponsor's school who can we trust we can't really listen to whose information is correct please tell me who can listen to
Seasoned drinkers hold alcohol alot better also than an a non drinker, so does their body just get better at processing it, their livers eventually pack it in.
I'm confused about her analogy of two different people drinking alcohol. Is the drinker who's hammered and dancing on the bar metabolizing the alcohol quickly or the drinker who seems the same as when they first walked into the bar?
The person who seems the same. The body is doing what the body does with alcohol more quickly, so the person goes to baseline more quickly. Does this make sense?
Why does it seem like she’s hoarding information? I’m glad he kept asking questions to get to the root of her statements. You can’t assume everyone knows what you’re talking about . Also, our body needs a lot of different kinds of minerals( some in trace amounts).
Right? If a person wants to know if their liver is healthy, a family physician orders that as part of an annual blood test. Why would I go out and get a ketone monitor and fast for days??
She's annoying me. Not explaining enough. Assumes we know what she's on about. Ususlly your guests are VERY detailed. What minerals? Where do we find them? Be exhaustive in your info stop glossing over everything.
The bottom of my feet were very dry… not cracked badly, but dry. I changed my diet; nothing changed. I started a New Chapter multi vitamin for women and within 2 weeks the bottom of my feet were smooth and no longer dry. I have fibromyalgia and may have the beginnings of an auto immune disease per my PCP. In 6 years of trial and error, I’ve found that diet alone doesn’t do much to alleviate my symptoms. Vitamins and supplements alone don’t work either. Both working in tandem, though, does a lot!! I also try to buy good quality vitamins, which are expensive. I hate spending the money, but if I have to cut other things out for my body, I’ll do it. 😇
oh boy, you prolly see the glass as half empty. Ok so she doesn't look like a supermodel using Botox and she doesn't look like she's starving. Instead, tell me what good did you learn, as you focus on the good it will grow. We all do what you just did but we can help the mind be more positive and look for the gold nuggets vs getting caught up in appearances. xxo
@@eri7-11 Botox don’t look healthy to me. And prolly isn’t a word. I am saying she looks tired, doesn’t have the glow of someone healthy and relaxed and who has good sleep. She looks worn out stressed and like she grabs food on the go. Just an observation. And I’m entitled to my opinion.
Whether or not HE does is immaterial. He’s interviewing her for the benefit of his listeners, who are presumably of many different ages, and with different problems. We can all discern how much of this advice pertains to ourselves. At some point he WILL be old enough to potentially have some of these problems. Should he wait until then to learn about them? Just my opinion.
She holds a BS degree from the University of Kansas and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. I had a flatmate when I was at uni who was studying to be a chiropractor. He was incredibly informed about how a body works because the biology and how that is functioning affects the mechanics. Add a BS to that and you've pretty much got a body guru, someone who can explain why, not just someone who says, 'Oh, you have these symptoms, here, take this.' Not dissing medical doctors in general, but many these days due to time constraints, patient loads etc go for a bandaid rather than drilling down into an issue.
Most MDs don’t know what the hell they’re talking about when it comes to preventing or reversing disease and nutrition. They are trained specifically to diagnose and give you a pill. How is that helpful? I’d much rather listen to someone who has taken the time to learn how to reverse chronic disease, no matter how they speak or what degree they have.
Having animal protein can be damaging to the kidneys, especially people of African origin. Black people do not process animal protein and salt well and they are six times more likely to have Chronic Kidney Disease, than Caucasions. Keto is not a one size fits all. These generalisations are irresponsible and should be considered cautiously.
But also has studied this stuff for years. My general practitioner, who's been an MD for 20+ years, doesn't study things beyond what she needs to know in her day to day practice. Is that better?
I feel really frustrated listening to this. She’s dropping hypotheses about what different things mean, but not backing it up with evidence. Very vague science. “Too much yeast in the system?”, bad liver because my feet are dry? Ridges on my nails (which I’ve had my entire life) means I’m low in minerals? No mention of genetic traits, natural differences between people, no counter-factual discussion. Totally support organic regenerative farming, but let’s not sell it as a cure all. Let’s face it, if most people at any vegetables at all (or increased their intake) they’d be much better off. She’s catastrophising and playing to insecurities. This is pseudoscience posing as science.
....I just lost 50% of the respect I had for this channel. Iridology??Really?? Maybe she bring Macrobiotic Diet back in fashion. You cant compare the education of earning a doctorate in a Western University (M.D. D.O. Biologist,) a clinician-practicing PCP with woo-woo holistic 'healers' (accupuncturists, homeopatic drs., herbists, psychics, etc.)There's a time and place for it (pain management, no treatment exists from allopathic medicine), but this knowledge is equal to an educated layperson.
Gave up on traditional medicine years ago. Use only natural “whoo hoo” methods. 73 yrs old and no drugs or health issues. The chiropractor is my friend. Teach horseback riding and run a summer camp for kids. Grow your food, stay away from drugs and chemicals, stay active, and use your talents and treasures to glorify God. Peace, love, joy, hope, patience, faith, and self control are gifts from the Holy Spirit.
