She didn't tell us anything we didn't know already. The only purpose of this whole erase memory thing would be so the Traveler does not know the name Sea of Flowers. Why does it matter? We don't know. We the players know so it's no spoiler, right?

@@kacperwoch4368 it was the canonical reason over why she wanted to do it. For the players it humanised the abyss sibling and gave us the answer of "if she has betrayed us" which was the whole point of that conversation over why we can reconcile with the sibling while Dain cannot. Travellers knowing that information may create plot holes so this was just a way of introducing and concluding character stories while also dropping some lore. Precisely the reason why it should not be seen from a self insert's perspective but Aether/Lumine's perspective

Imagine if the sibling ACTUALLY told the Traveler that they won't remember anything after Caribert disappeared before the conversation. It would undercut the entire interaction. Plus, wasting the few minutes explaining that before could've cost more time enjoying each other's company until the realm's collapse. The moment was meant to be tender and tragic, despite the both of them being so close together again and once again stripped of that moment.

exactly,i would do the same,like ''i dont care about all of this anymore i just want to reach that final place to have my sibling back'',and idk maybe they would follow the abyss twin,its clear how much they miss them and with this new info,i cant say they would continue their jorney like they're doing rn. so the memory loss thing was really necessary.

Right? Some people are yapping in reddit and such that his quest was a letdown because it had little info in it and then the traveler forgets it but I think, it was amazing! If you are really invested into the story and don't just play for adrenaline rush, you feel for those two and are happy for them getting this moment of peaceful reunion. And then, Aether's "questions are not important now" line makes sense perfectly... For me, this quest was very satisfying...

@@ashy969 yeah, the time they had together was borrowed, not stolen, people need to stop to see it as something that they lost and more as a last gift of Caribert, they weren't suppsed to meet the other yet and ye they did it, also the questions they solved for the Traveler are enough from now, the Loom of Fate and the Five Sinners of Khaenri'ah, also we got the information about the sea of Flowers, and the confirmation that the Heavenly Principles are still inactive.

Yeah this thing I'm most afraid of in the lore is that Celestia might have a point because of how forbidden knowledge works.

His right to exist was ripped from him as a child when he was inflicted with the Curse of the Wilderness during the Cataclysm - a result of him being part Mondstadtian. He briefly got his consciousness back, but the construction of the Loom of Fate ended up killing him and absorbing part of his consciousness.

My speculation is that traveler will remember his conversation with lumine from the picture

These are just questions (you don't have like this conversation or quest): Why wouldn't the abyss twin be casual? They don't have any issues with each other. The abyss twin also doesn't go in depth with their justification for joining the abyss order. It is stated (word for word) by them that caribert was one example. How is the traveler's question not something that a normal person would ask? Maybe it's not the first question to ask, but that depends on the person. In this case, it's completely normal for the traveler to ask this question because of their past with the abyss twin.

If one thing has been consistent in Genshin world-building is.. never trust any dialogue from anybody ever. Everybody in Teyvat is a person of their own thus, exaggeration and bias is at play. Look how everybody was talking about that the Shogunate was handing over Visions, even Jean told us this (1.6 GAA). But in truth, after 2.X, it was revealed that Celestia was the one who gave out visions. The Abyss Sibling is no excuse from this. From their point-of-view, it was the Heavenly Principles who should be punished. From the players point-of-view it was the 5 sinners and the King because they shook the foundation of the world. That's why the memory wipe had to happen, Abyss Sibling is too fixated at their own reasoning if they were to told the Traveller that, the Traveller would undoubtedly believe them, abiding to bias and neglecting the facts scattered through Teyvat. The journey must continue so they could make a decision for themselves at endgame. The frustration is real though, but they just gave us enough characterization for the Traveller here, I think its a good narrative. Plus, I really believe the story is far from over and everything in the future plot is still subject-to-change, in the writiers perpective they must have done this to avoid retconning things in the future. The existence of "The Sea of Flower at The End" is already huge. It may very well affect the journey of the Traveller moving forward if they were to remember it.
