Every engine build I’ve seen they say not to put any lube under main bearings-not sure if it matters but I’ve heard a reason why but it’s escaping me at this point in time. 🤷‍♂️ Why didn’t you guys just do a vitara build? Pistons are $100 and rods aren’t too pricey but that setup is good for boost up to 500hp proven.

Real street performance has a video explaining in detail why putting a tiny bit of oil behind the bearings is ideal to aid with the crush when they are owing torqued. Jay has been doing it for years and I trust his judgement. As far as the vitara build, in our series parts cost points. If we use to many points we start laps down. We are already fast enough to be competitive. We don’t need to be faster we need to be more reliable. Driving motive behind this particular engine is to be reliable.

I can't bring myself to ever do internal engine work without rubber gloves on, half fear of sharp metal from my stitches, half fear of being called out for not being clean enough.

It was already there but yes. Or oil seems to work just fine.
