The Ultimate 76ers Team

In this series, I assemble what I believe is the greatest team possible for each franchise. In this specific video, we're looking at the Philadelphia 76ers.
5 starters, 5 backups, and 3 rotations players. A total of 13 roster spots on each Ultimate Team. It's not just about talent, but it's about building a team that works and gels together.

The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!
I post videos every week on NBA history, predictions, hypothetical scenarios and current NBA topics.

Assuming this series will continue until it’s concluded with all 30 teams, I’ll be doing a 2k simulation with all 30 squads, and reacting as it all goes down. Which franchise are you looking forward to in this series???

Wilt in LA should be starting 5 ( 72' championship)! Kareem & Shaq, maybe on 4 one of them! It is very hard to choose starting 5 for LA! It would be something like this: 1: Magic 2: West, 3: Kobe, 4: Shaq, 5: Wilt! Second team: 1: Le Bron, 2: Baylor, 3: Worthy , 4: Kareem, 5: Mikan! It is very hard to select LA !

@@mirospajic9929 LOL! Only one ball, s Johnson and Bryant together are a problem. And neither LA Shaq nor '72 Wilt are fast break material, so Johnson's skills would be wasted. 1st Team: Kareem (I overall prefer Wilt as a player, but I've already said why), West, Johnson, LeBron...um, Bryant. But I'd bench Bryant at the first sign of him hogging the ball and taking bad shots.

Good vid. As well known as Barkley is, I actually think prime Barkley may be a bit underrated. In his early 90s peak, it's tough to find many PFs you'd pick over him. He was a threat to get 40+ points and 20+ rebounds any given night, and there was NOTHING the opposing team could do about it. He's definitely in that rare categories of players no one could really stop, you just had to hope to contain. Barkley was a BEAST...

As a Sonics fan, I absolutely love Hersey Hawkins and it was a joy to hear that name again. However . . . although you'd lose the shooting, moving AI to shooting guard and grabbing Mo Cheeks to play point guard (although he'd probably guard whomever was the best wing player on the other side) would be a better starting lineup. But bringing him off the bench makes sense as well
@fortynights1513

What would your team be if it was all Sonics?
@greywolf2155
@greywolf2155 Год назад
@@fortynights1513 good question! I hope Jonny keeps this series long enough to see his answers. Off the top of my head: Starting guards: Gary Payton, Ray Allen Reserve guards: Dennis Johnson, Freddie Brown Starting frontcourt: Rookie Kevin Durant, Spencer Haywood, Jack Sikma Reserve frontcourt: Dale Ellis, Detlef Schrempf, Shawn Kemp Rotational: Gus Williams, Xavier McDaniel, Rashard Lewis I honestly think this team would be pretty great--not good enough to go up against the 6ers, Lakers, Celtics, or Spurs, but definitely among the top teams in the second tier. The only problem is size, with Kemp probably the backup Center, and even Sikma was never the big bruising type (honestly, he would be an amazing stretch 5 in today's game). Being able to put in Payton and Dennis Johnson would be suffocating defense on the wings, but a dominant big man would be able to do well inside Also worth nothing that this might actually be the best outside shooting lineup in the whole tournament. Imagine getting Freddie Brown, Ray Allen, Dale Ellis, and Rashard Lewis on the floor at the same time . . . other than the Warriors, who can challenge that?

Great Video Jonny but would be great if you set additional rules in advance as to which players are eligible, like a minimum # of years played for team (like 4 or 5) or perhaps set a rule that no player can be on more than 2 teams. This way a players like Meses, Lebron, Kawhi would only make two teams instead of 3 or more in the case of Moses. If Harden is gone next month, it feels wrong putting him on that roster with just 2 seasons played.

@@skolcole Wilt played with two all-star teammates in his extreme scoring 1962 season, one of whom retired with the highest career scoring average at the time and was a 22 ppg player that season. 3 all-stars on his squad was pretty much par for the league at the time. I can't speak to the rest of the lineup, maybe there was a steep dropoff, but to my understanding it is pretty well documented that a lot of what changed Wilt's play style was the urging of his coaches and his desire to try to replicate more of the championship success of his rival Bill Russell.

Comment from italian recent follower My english isn't so good, but I really like how you speak. Interesting and comprehensible. I have always been fascinated by the NBA history and the idea of every franchise's All-Time Roster looks great. Considering the presence of certain players in this video (Harden, Chamberlain or even Moses) I presume you won't have the rule of choose a player only in one team, as others do. e.g. On other sites Kareem is listed in Bucks All-Time but not in Lakers, LeBron in Cavs instead of Heat. This makes sense with Starting 5 only, to explore lesser-known names, but with your 13 players rosters I guess it's acceptable to have same players in multiple All-Time. I hope you continue with this series 👏

Honestly I love the fact that you don't use any sponsors which makes you a very virtuous RU-vidr. As someone who absolutely loves your videos and hopes you'll continue making them I would tell you its okay to use sponsors in your videos if it makes them more profitable. If this is something you are not willing to compromise on that is understandable but I do think its worth thinking about. This way you can focus more on putting videos out you love and don't necessarily have to worry about whether the video will be profitable.
