Lancia Rally Group B ❤️

@@andredeketeleastutecomplex the chassis has nothing to do with the Lancia Rally Cruppo B. the only thing they have in common is that they are prototypes, but while the chassis of the lance was reticular, with a parallelogram suspension attachment and with the engine in a central transversal rear position. the frame of the 155 was tubular welded in steel, with a longitudinal engine in a central front position, which also acted as a load-bearing element, the suspensions were of the push-rod type. in essence, the 155 v6 ti was an f1 car with covered wheels.

@@buuuu7691 he was not referring to the Lancia delta, but to the Lancias of group b. the delta was a group a. the difference between group a and group b was very different. the group A cars were strictly derived from the series, therefore normal production cars modified according to the FIA regulations. the group b ones also had to come from the series, but 250 examples produced were enough to allow the manufacturer to use that machine. consequently the manufacturers created very powerful monsters, real prototypes, designed to be very fast. monsters with evolved to reach powers of 500/550 hp that killed pilots faster than a child eating candy. the 037 and the s4 were the group bs that Lancia fielded in the world championship. These cars allowed Lncia to dominate the short group B championship. Not even the arrival of the powerful Audi 4 Group B, which introduced all-wheel drive into the rally for the first time, was enough to beat the legendary rear-wheel drive 037. but the Lancia paid a very high price in terms of human lives. In a short time the evolution of these cars escaped the control of the FIA, which considered the championship to be out of control and dangerous, decided to abolish it and returned to the Group A championship, where Lancia introduced the Delta HF 4WD, winning 5 world championships in a row. these cars were designed by engineer Sergio Limone. in 1992, Lncia decided to withdraw from rallies and Limone was hired by the Alfa Romeo racing team and Alfa put him in charge of the DTM project. this is the reason why many believe it is the chassis of the s4, because it has the same designer's name on it. but a chassis designed to jump on dirt roads will never be able to offer the stability necessary for a car designed to do the exact opposite
