I get my sardines form Arabic store imported form Morocco. I’ve ate them for years but recently started using sting them more and more . Everyone around me is saying that I’m glowing. I get satiated and energized after eating them. I mix them with half an avocado , mayo , mustard and vinegar veggies in a sandwich . Main benefit was the hair !
My favorite so far is King Oscar in Olive Oil (avoid those cheapies with crap soy oil). I add salt, pepper and dash of smoked paprika and air fry for 7min on 350 and top with mustard and a lil hot sauce. I did a 3 day sardine "fast" right out of the gate and I was fine. I was so full (2 tins for bfast and 2 tins at about 2pm) that I did not even want any sardines for dinner. By day three, I only had 3 total tins all day as I just wasn't hungry. And like Rachel, I have an unhealthy relationship with foods and carbs, so this was amazing for me. I do a 1-2 day sardine "fast" every week now. Love it.
Sardine's also contain phosphatidylserine at a small concentration so with people who have adhd or issues with memory and focus a good alternative is mackerel. Don't go for king mackerel because of higher concentrations of heavy metals.
I’m 69 and started eating sardines with my daddy when I was about 9 years old. Still love them. My husband does as well so we keep lots of wild planet sardines in our pantry.
Love sardines! Have been eating them for a few years. But I have to eat when I'm not around others, too smelly lol. Great video Rachel, really appreciate your channel, hope all is great for you!
When I was pregnant, I was reading up on the baby’s development week by week and there is a critical time when their brains are developing and it’s during that period they recommend increasing fish intake to at least three times a week. After doing research, I came across a ton of information about the benefits of sardines. I kept it up during both of my pregnancies. Watching your video reminds me that there are so many continued benefits for my own health too. I’m definitely encouraged to start adding them back into my diet ❤
I get the wild caught sardines in spring water if possible. I rinse them with hot water and then add my own evoo afterward. Why? Because the olive oil they use might be rancid or not organic, extra virgin olive oil, and mine is.
@RundownwithRachel I grew up in Asia and sardines is actually a poor man’s meal for us growing up. No money open a can of sardines, some steamed green veggies and rice voila! We even got them fresh when the fisherman’s arrived early morning from fishing. I’m in the US now and sardines here are so fancy lol
I grew up on them and love them. It’s cool to know they’re a sneaky beauty supplant! Your channel is FANTASTIC. My sister sent me your work smarter not harder video and now I’m obsessed ❤
I recently got obsessed with Sardines from TikTok but this just sealed the deal. This was so informative and to the point... I really look forward to when you post!!
I really appreciate that. You are highlighting this longtime superfood! I agree with you that if we can get things from the Whole Foods source, it’s way better than buying supplements. My parents are 82 and still very active and they have sardine lunch every week. 😊
Sardines have been a game changer for me since I’m not only on the go nonstop, I travel through many countries and canned sardines seem to be available everywhere! Discovering my love for sardines has been a lifesaver for my partner and I since we love having low carb options available in a snap. About opening up the cans... one time when the last edge of the lid lifted away, the sardine juices splattered all over the freshly painted walls of our brand new stay. Even with dish soap we were unable to wash it off the walls. I recommend to be super careful when opening up these cans!
I really love your channel! I just ordered the vibration plate so would love an update on that! I do a 2 day sardine fast every so often and I literally get snatched in 2 days!
Thank you so much! I am due for an update and appreciate you sharing that! So good to know how effective a 2 day sardine fast is. Much more reasonable than 3 days!
@@RundownwithRachel I mean they're definitely up in price compared to 10 years ago, but I'll admit I feel like they've gotten better. You should join our sardine subreddit 😆 It includes all canned fish. I'm laughing because I promise I'm not the type of person to be in a whole group for sardines but I am
Oh Gosh. I'd love to have all these benefits but I just can't make myself eat them. I'll have to stick to tuna and salmon lol. As far as future content . . . do you still do the breast massage? Other ideas . . . nail and hair care, face massage, meditation, health and fitness rituals, 2024 goals, or 2023 year in review. Love your content!
I just had smoked oysters in water (canned) with Tabasco on top for lunch!! For 110 cal and 18g protein, it’s amazing. If I add shaved manchego on top, it’s soooo good.
Love this! I've been spending SO much money on supplements lately. How often & how much do you have to eat in order to replace VitD and fish oil supplements?? Thank you for your videos!!!
Okay so hear me out. I've been eating sardines for a long time but I hate the smell on my hands. I just eat them out of the can sometimes to get some protein. Use chopsticks! Forks break them up too easily and they fall apart. But chopsticks will pick up the entire tiny fish. Or you can gently break it in half.
Love sardines. Biggest hack. The brand I love is vital choice. Have you done a video on CGM? I’ve been meaning to get one, what brand do you recommend?

I love them and all the benefits especially the convenience but bring them to work is big N-O. Way too fishy smelling and lots of people can’t stand fish smells.
