Find out the difference between fish oil and Krill oil in a more recent video here and why I’ve switched over: ✅ Krill Oil Vs Fish & Cod Liver Oil. What's The Difference? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2bt1289oZUU.html
The greatest thing CLO has done for me was to get rid of my bilateral cataracts. Went to the doctor after two yrs with the cataracts just to see when the cataracts had matured enough to have them removed when much to my chagrin.....my cataracts had disappeared. Thank you Jesus. I was raised using old home remedies because Mama knew everything about folk medicine. Eight children in our family.❤❤❤. plus I am an expert medical language specialist ❤❤❤
It was good enough for my mother it's good enough for me!I've been taking it most of my life and I never catch a cold or the flu this is old school natural medicine and I'm glad that it's getting the spotlight
I started taking cod liver oil maybe 6 months ago, and its health benefits have been huge. It was recommended to be for my very low vitamin D deficiency from liver condition, but after taking I found that it improved my immune system and restored my energy that was last during covid 19 infection. It helped my cognition, strength and overall better outlook.
I am a great fan of cod liver oil. I am 79 and have been taking for many years, I am not on any medication and my joints are good, I would really reccomend it. I take a cheap bog standard one as I have not come across any others available locally so thanks for the heads up on what you take. I will check it out. I take a desertspoonful in my juice first thing in the morning. To achieve this amount you would need to take several capsules!
Thank you once again Dr Omole on RU-vid for this information. Since following you (for some years now), my kidney stage results has decrease from stage 3 to stage 1. You saved me from dialysis. Thank you and please keep the videos coming!! God Bless…
I'm a proponent of cod liver oil supplement. However, I believe cod liver oil in the gel capsule form is superior, as the the liquid form in the bottle can oxidize fairly quickly, causing it to go rancid soon.
I heard the body takes more energy to break down the nutrients of the gel capsule form more than liquid form so you don’t get a lot of the benefits, not sure if that’s true I only read about it
@@rondolavino7778 I doubt that's true. I can put the gel capsule in my mouth and in less than a minute, my saliva dissolves the soft capsule completely.
Absolutely no compromises which is why I take only Rosita. I buy 3 at a time to get a huge saving and pop the other 2 bottles n the freezer. For travel, I take the Rosita Softgels. Quite simply, I feel better for it whereas other brands didn’t.
I’ve been taking Hypol for a long time. It was an Australian made Cod liver oil flavoured emulsion. I’m very upset that they’ve stopped manufacturing it now 😢. It’s been around for about 40 years! So now I’ll have to find another version. Taking it for Asthma coughing and potential bronchitis episodes
I’m convinced! I’ve been looking for a replacement for statin drugs because of the side effects, some of which are more dangerous than the problems they’re supposed to remedy.
I’ve been taking CholestOff plus..made by Nature Made since 2007. Had heart bypass and didn’t want statins. Along with other supplements so far so good! Statins are made with the same ingredients found in what nature grows..plant sterols and stanols. That’s what’s in this supplement. 900mg per capsule and my cholesterol blood results have been good since 2007… thank God! Live healthy and prosper!
I have experienced great benefits from taking cod liver oil capusles. 500mg one capsule a day preferably with a meal. All the benefits you mentioned ive had but id like to add i also experienced a high level of stamina
I have started to eat tinned cod liver, it is really high in vitamin A and far more economical than buying the oil or capsules. You can blend it with cream cheese and lemon juice to make a tasty pate.
I've been taking Tesco brand cod liver oil for a few years now around 5ml a day my over all wellness for my age is brilliant no ailments my skin, hair, nails etc in great condition also arthritis runs in my family I have no aches or pains , prevention is always better than cure take it it'll pay dividends 😊
Just got it as I heard Rosita was good. So glad to hear this video. I am 76 and hoping for some good benefits from it. I have taken other brands off and on over the years and cod liver oil does help so I'm hoping Rosita will be better.
@@RositaRealFoods Tesco own label Cod Liver oil at under £5/00 per bottle will remain my preference especially when they have a buy three get one free offer.
Wow it’s amazing this Rosita Cod Liver oil the amounts of good ingredients and the percentage of each but the Only thing I did not like is for a 5oz. Bottle is $64 dollars you’ve got to be pretty well off $$$$ I money to afford it but thanks for the suggestion 👍🏼
I know CLO is very powerful because because (to get a little gross here) the first two or three days my bowel movements were very smelly. It smelled like my pancreas was kicking into overdrive. Just from two small pills a day.
@@wakemeupnow1 I can't say that it does. On that note I have started taking 1 tsp of pysillium powder in 8 oz water daily. The best safest thing you can do!
I used to use rosita but their prices have gone through the roof I’ve been taking cod lover oil since I was 2 and I love the flavor. I love chewing the capsules version.
We are certainly not immune to the state of the world and raising costs and we waited a very long time before raising our prices. Keep an eye out for one of our sales and you can stock up!
Hi Dr. Hulme, I live in 🇨🇦 and I’m 68 years old, I am always low in Vitamin D, I decided to purchase Nordic Naturals Cod liver oil, because I was doing this on my own I bought the children’s, I don’t know if it makes a difference. I began taking one teaspoon at breakfast and noticed that about 30 minutes later I would feel a bit lightheaded, I do continue on with my day but could this be that my body is getting used to it ? As a child in Europe my mother had given me and my siblings the cod liver oil. I so wanted to go the natural way. Thanks in advance .
Sounds like you don't need to take the cod liver oil with the multivitamin that you're taking now if you are taking a multivitamin. Lightheadedness can be a symptom of overload but the vitamin A that is in our vitamins isn't a quality retinol which is what true vitamin A is like in the cod liver oil. You're better off with a cod liver oil than synthetic version or beta carotene version that your body has to process into retinol.
I take cod liver oil via capsules and when I checked out the link you provided from Rosita, the cost is over $60. "Cost a little bit more?" How about A LOT more. I can't afford that nor can anyone who's living on a budget. I'm sure it's high quality oil but there's no way most people are going to spend that much.
Hello Dr. Would you recommend cod liver oil for gut health? Is it safe for people who had a surgery to take out a part of the small intestine? Thank you 🙏
The brand you refer to at 5:14 from my reading has only 360 I.U per 5ml (1tsp) serving of Vitamin D. I take 2000 I.U of Vit D (2 tabs x 1000 I.U) a day, so that is say 6 tsp's of this product to get the same amount of Vit D. The bottle has 30 X 5ml servings which would last me say 5 days which at A$75 a bottle works out a bit expensive. (not sure if would be safe to take 6 tsps a day in any case)
There is no such thing as "bad" cholesterol. Cholesterol is naturally produced by the body; if it did not we would die. Please clarify your statement on "bad" cholesterol - apart from that, big thumbs up!
You’re right, we need both in balance. I think the reason why LDL is referred to as bad cholesterol is because it’s often the one to come out of balance (being too high) thus reducing it can be a good thing thus the term. However it’s perhaps not the best term.
It depends on what you are trying to achieve but I personally take both mainly due to getting lots of tooth cavities. Both can help make your teeth stronger. They’re also both good for the heart.
Look into blue ice fermented cod liver oil or standard process brand cod liver oil!!! It's the best!!! Yes , my 4 year old takes 2 capsules every day , my pediatrician who is holistic doctor recommended!
@ DR. Steven Hulme , HI Steven ,I take the Seven Seas , Capsule's with the High Vit.A & the High EPA DHA , I have felt the benefit of taking this brand . What do you think as re . this one .
Thanks doc. Very elaborate presentation. I take 1 capsule every morning for the past one year. I feel great. Is one capsule adequate? Keep on the good work. God bless.
How do you take Cod liver oil, do you mix it with Orange juice or mineral water? Or do you take it in your mouth just by itself? Please make it clear. Yilma.
I buy a supermarket own brand Cod Liver oil cost less than £5/00 I'm staggered that some highly promoted and package Cod Liver oils can cost over £25/00.
You're buying highly processed garbage with synthetic vitamins added back sorry to tell u just save up and buy this brand or drop i brand ,, never cheap on certain things or fall for clever marketing and buzz words ,, u want cod liver as natural as u fishing and collecting it urself,, as for pollution concerns look around to what the government allow and never draw attention to ,, myself i trust the ocean to nourish more than man
Cod Liver Oil is the same product irrespective of the marketing hype and fancy packaging claiming of superior quality. Pay through the nose for exaggerated claims if it makes you feel better.
@@peteresher4580 The expensive stuff is processed at a low temperature to (supposedly) avoid damaging the omega 3. However, I haven't seen any studies which confirm the claimed benefits, so it is questionable.
@@propheteyebert7063 I don't think charging four or five times the supermarket own brand price can be justified by claiming lower temperature production methods make such a big difference.
Great video, just one question, the one you show at the end is 5 times the price of the ‘normal’ high street one, and the ones I am seeing are only 150ml not 300ml so really 10 times the price! am I looking at the wrong stuff? How worse is the cheaper stuff? Thank you.
@@drstevenhulme Just read your reply, you did mention that the ‘good stuff’ cost just a little bit more, I did not expect 10 times the price. I hope you don’t mind, but I had emailed Seven Seas and asked their opinion on their product being much worse than Rosita. I will let you know their response. Thanks for your reply.
If they are not encapsulated immediately after production and remain as such yes - as they will oxidise even in a glass jar within a couple weeks to levels that would make it unhealthy. Pre-opening of a glass bottle it is fine, refrigeration after is required after to prevent the oxidisation - although it'll still happen slowly, becoming unhealthy after probably 90-150~ days and non-optimal after about 70~. If encapsulated they're fine until the capsule degrades (will become loose and overly soft relative to before) + some time (couple weeks); if the capsules are exposed to high-heat and stick together it'd probably be best to refrigerate to ensure the oil inside doesn't spoil, but generally they're fine if this happens and you can 'shake' them apart in the bottle without them breaking.
Cheaper than Nordic Naturals, its good one without the added synthetic D, is not recommended. Most others are rancid, so food sources would be better than a low quality product.
Prostate cancer is 100% preventable through frequent screening as it is a cancer that develops outside the body - and thus the cancer can be removed entirely before it spreads internally - so it should be irrelevant in regards to taking cod liver oil. Can't speak for cod liver's effectiveness, likely is down to your source/quality (rancid/contaminated or not), but prostate cancer risk shouldn't be a factor in making up your decision to take it or not.
@@Global-livingg screening doesn't make it preventable - screening shows it when you get it. I think you mean screening will give you a chance at sorting it if it shows up. Obviously not getting it in the first place is ideal and there are concerns that there is a link between taking cod liver oil and increased chance of it developing.
@@pwilson3698 Yes however when it develops and you screen for it - detecting it early - it is harmless and able to be removed with near-0 risk. The only risk is complacency. I'm not aware of the correlation between cod/fish-oils and prostate cancer, but I haven't studied them much (yet) - but most prostate cancer is caused due to red meat and generally low fiber consumption - so they'd be the better areas to focus on anyway - (e)limiting red meats and adding more fiber/veg.
It reminds me of my childhood, as Dad was very particular of we kids 've Cod Liver Oil daily.. thx a million Dr. for your good advice.. all the best👍👌🤝✌🤲🇮🇳🙏
My mother made us take a tablespoon every morning before school. Ugh fish breath. Big oily jar in the fridge. As an adult knowingbim allergic to fish i take evening primrose oil, and vitamin D.
Thinking of starting taking cod liver oil for my eye health as there is a history of macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataracts in my family. I am already taking Vit D with K2 and Magnesium. Is it ok to take these two supplements together? Thanks Steven.
