@@dekeijzergeorge9974 He just doesn't move well on his feet and his has no accuracy with his punches. Compared to your average Joe he might look good but I think he spent to much time in the gym swelling up his muscles rather than learning to use what he has.
If you don’t watch the highlights you see he won the second and third round literally only because Mitchell stopped fighting and just showboated but he was clearly the better fighter

Peña might have the worst striking of any UFC champion, possibly even worse than Ronda’s. Her “coming forward throwing combos” looks more like a jogger having a seizure.
to be honest she has potential to be a great striker. hear me out though lol, she has great fluidity in terms of throwing her strikes but her technique is what’s extremely flawed as well as her footwork/placement.
At the time i was disapointed with pena.. But after watching the highlights i have to give her credit for taking so many ko blows and battling on. She almost caught nunez a few times even though she was close to losing. That is 1 tough woman
You could see the blatant favoritism towards Usman from the very start of this series reminded me of the series with Artem and Conor when they made sure Artem made it to the finals even after he lost the qualifying match and they made up some rule to get him through cause Conor was gonna walk if he wasn't part of the show 😂
I don’t know why nobody ever talks about the fact that the Blackzilans were notorious drug cheats. That whole camp was on drugs and I bet that includes Kamaru. The late owner of the gym was the one supplying everybody.
That was a very very good fight 👏 👌 it felt like Amanda let Pena off a few times in the earlier rounds but Pena showed tremendous heart and staked her claim on the later rounds, if her striking was better 😉.
What I learned in the second fight is Julianna is no joke on the ground and I think she’s better than Amanda on the ground but her striking is such a joke that it didn’t matter, imagine Julianna changes camps and learns how to strike and becomes an actual problem 😂
I wouldn't call her striking a joke, but it isn't where it needs to be at the level she is competing. Julianna can punch like a mule, but she just needs to refine her technique, and her defensive techniques. She is definitely a huge threat already. She proved that against Nunez, but she just needs to focus on her stand up game more. As you said, changing camps, and going somewhere that focuses more on striking could do wonders for her game, plus it would allow her to get easier takedowns. Personally, I think her ground game is exactly where it needs to be already to win the championship again, but she needs more than just power in her striking.

@53:37, for Juliana Pena and anyone else who keeps reposting or saying "look at that swelling that pena left on nunes". You can cleary see that she blew her nose after the clash of heads in the previous round, which swells it up even more. Pretty sure cowboy and matt mitrione had this happen, it's honestly from fighting someone who doesn't know how to strike, and leads in with their head while windmilling.
