This is part two of this series where I have access to 6 bone stock 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited JL's and have 6 different manufactures lift kits to install and review. In this part 2 video, we'll take these Jeeps out on the road and see how they handle, run them off-road on a variety of terrains and I'll pick the winners of this comparison. #jeepwrangler #liftedjeep
Part 1 of this Video Series: • The Ultimate Jeep Wran...

Great video Brad - thanks for your hard work! Incidentally, I installed those Teraflex shocks on my JLU on your recommendation a few months ago and I absolutely love them! I’m running a Metalcloak 3.5” Gamechanger suspension and my rig has evolved into more of an over landing rig with a lot of extra weight. The addition of those shocks helped out immensely in taking out some of the body roll I was experiencing with the roof rack, RTT and extra gear. I give a big thumbs up to both you and Teraflex!

I really enjoyed this comparison. After a LOT of research I opted for the AEV 2.5 lift on my JK and love it. It’s my daily driver, so I wanted a great ride on-road and capable off-road. I agree with your assessment on washboards, so I drop my tire pressure about 10 psi for a smoother ride...it’s the trade off I made for the on-road performance. I was also on a limited budget and I wanted the best bang for the buck. Last but certainly not least, I wanted a kit which I could install by myself, without any drilling or welding, all on a weekend. I was not disappointed in my decision. Thanks again for this great comparison video!

How big are the tires you have on your jeep? And how noticeable to the naked eye is the 2.5 inch lift kit compared to stock.
@RoadWearyPilot
@RoadWearyPilot 11 месяцев назад
@@_cosmos_4219 , I’m currently running stock JL Rubicon wheels and (285/70R17 (33”) tires which were take-offs. So I’m at about 4.5 to 5 inches higher than I was on the stock wheels and suspension of my JK Rubi. It’s been great and extremely stable. The AEV 2.5 lift with its tuned suspension seems to work great. It is definitely noticeable, but nothing like a 4” lift, which, for me was to much lift for a daily driver, not to mention the other modifications I’d have to do for the bigger lift. I think it’s pretty sexy!

I have the Teraflex 4" suspension system, love every bit of it. I did change out all the teraflex 4" springs for metal cloak true dual rate 4.5" (which somehow gave me 2 additional inches of lift over the teraflex springs) after about 5 times taking it rock crawling, but I loved the adjustable piggy back shocks so much I had to go with Teraflex for all the control arms, the track bars, tie rod, drag link, front and rear speed bumps and 3.3 steering stabilizer. Thank you so much for gathering some useful data in such a scientific manner. I wish I would have seen this before buying my lift for my 2018 JLUR. Not that I would have bought a different lift necessarily, but having this comparison of price, performance, actual height increase, etc, would have helped me make my decision easier with less confusion and feel like I'm blindly trusting advice I got from other people. When I'm selecting parts for my Jeep, I want to compare the pros and cons of each design and manufacturer. Thank you for investing your time in providing this analysis for us. I got a Rusty's Off-Road 3.75 Advanced lift, with all 8 adjustable control arms and adjustable track bars. I had to do ALOT of adjustments and fine-tuning over months to get it dialed in. I probably should have just gotten a simpler kit with just lower adjustable control arms (necessary to get the caster angle back to where it needs to be (when the pinion is at factory angle, the caster is also factory angle and it will drive great). I don't regret going all-in with so much adjustability, as when I knock something out of alignment, I can adjust int back into my preferred spec, so that is worth it, as I typically have to put it up on a rack at the alignment shop after the more aggressive wheeling trips to get things back where they need to be for daily driver use. Yup, My rig is my daily driver and weekend wheeler. I love the challenge of balancing on-road and off-road performance.

I have the terflex kit with the adjustable shocks on a 2 door and I love it. On road I keep them on stiff and it handles like a dream, especially paired with the soft top (less weight up high) and switch over to soft when I hit the dirt as part of my "offroad procedure" along with airing down, disconnecting sway bar, etc. If I could go back and lift the jeep again, I would make the same decision to go with the teraflex kit, the only thing I might change is going with a 3.5 instead of the 2.5 I have now.

Brad - This video was my personal favorite, so far - I've been checking RU-vid everyday for Part 2. I found the comparison dimensions to be extremely useful in making my own decision. This video confirmed my intention to purchase one of these products - due to my personal usage (long drives to off-roading destinations, mostly mild-medium trails, need adjustability / fine tuning as I'm still making changes to my Jeep). Albeit, there were at least two other products in the video that surprised me and are good alternatives for my setup. I recently purchased a 2021 JL (2-door) Rubicon and had the dealer install the AEV DualSport RT suspension. When the mechanic did an alignment, he commented that it might benefit from a front adjustable track bar. I noticed that the jeep was a little "darty", but it still handled better than my old TJ. My wheels and 35" tires were on backorder so the salesman suggested that I purchase a track bar and he would have it installed and re-aligned when they installed the wheels & tires. I purchased a JKS HD Adjustable Track Bar and took it back to the dealer to have it installed and aligned. WOW! Night and day difference. I haven't been off-road yet, but the on-road manners are now perfect.

thanks for the comparison on these lift kits on the 2020 Jeep Wrangler! More for me to keep in mind when I'm shopping for a Jeep and doing upgrades to it!

I think this is really a cooking show, with camping on the side! I love it! I use to live in Albuquerque, but upon retirement I found myself back in Florida. Would've been awesome to do out there. I really enjoy your channel Brad!

Great Review! I like that you did an on and off raod test. For most of us our jeep is a daily driver.

Have literally been waiting on this video every day. Not sure why because I don’t own a wrangler, just an XJ.

I have the exact same Teraflex lift on my 2 door. I see so many people say the shocks are too stiff and I really don't understand that. I did have to get Teraflex to send me some spring perches, which they did for free. I also ended up getting an adjustable front track bar even though it comes with a bracket. Overall, I really like the kit and I'm glad I got it. I can bomb through the fire roads at my local off road park where I couldn't ever do that on stock suspension.

Hey, AEV scored big! I agree and after 3k miles on AEV under my 2-DR JLR it has settled nicely. I also use a Terra Flex steering stabilizer so agree that they make great stuff too. Great review!
