I tried to laugh at this, but I really couldn't because it's too close to the truth. What's scarier than a Halloween jumpscare is that thousands of people (if not millions) in our country operate in this fashion. It is barely hyperbolic. What's scarier is that there are money and power hungry individuals willing to capitalize on those people, too.
@TheWatchfulEye Maybe the only reason you have not been sick with covid is that many others have been vaccinated and wear masks, and your mixing has been restricted to some extent . There is no certainty to this of course, maybe your just lucky, or even statistically there is a fair chance you could avoid covid, or maybe you have had it without knowing and maybe you have passed it on to someone else and maybe they got very sick . I know, that's a lot of maybes, but that just shows that one persons experience does not mean a lot in such an uncertain situation. All that said, there may be some merit to what you say but for the fact that the health care system is not able to cope with such a sudden increase sickness, without all the measures to slow the spread of the disease there system would have collapsed. And in that regard, the long hospitalisations are more important than the death rate. What the hell, masks don't hurt and the vaccines safe, what's wrong with you? just do it.
@TheWatchfulEye The problem is that we don't have the hospital capacity for even 3% of the population to get sick all at the same time, and while many cases are treatable, overcrowding the hospitals means we have to start triaging, which is a fancy polite medical term for prioritizing who does and does not get treatment. This happens in 2 ways. 1. Rich, popular, and powerful people get pushed to the front of the line. 2. People with more minor conditions get treatment while those in worse condition get ignored. 3. This includes people who don't need hospitalization due to COVID. TL;DR - If we don't get COVID slowed down enough and under control, lots more people will suffer and die than would have needed to due to lack of resources and limited hospital space.
I am now an old man now, one who viewed the beings of the Cold War, was in the military during the Vietnam war. I have viewed our governments scandals building through out my years. Now our government is corrupt beyond recognition, self serving, and with their own designs have insulated themselves from most legal repercussions. No one could have convinced me that our citizens would become as divided, dysfunctional, and dangerous. This video is an epitaph to our nation. Honest, and factual.

So what if they are old, or immunocompromised, they deserve to not die of respiratory illness like my grandma did at the very beginning of 2019. How much money you have is only dependent on how much responsibility you take for other peoples freedom.... or how corrupt you are and how much money you manage to steal from the community. Capitalism is a form of stealing.... and so is socialism. If you're a socialist, you steal from the working class man. If you're a capitalist, you create jobs for the working class man and the you steal most of the profit that working class man creates. In the end everybody steals from the working class man, who just gets up every day, goes to work, and makes the wheels on our great societies go round. Everybody steals from the man who takes responsibility. Humanity will get the most freedom when everybody learns to do what's best for themselves as well as what's best for our global society as a whole. But we're all born a bunch of socialists sucking at our mothers titties, completely unable to take any sort of responsibility for ourselves and others. We really have no choice but to be socialists for a large part of our lives because each of us have to learn to take responsibility for our own lives and the lives of other people before we can start doing it.

Reminds me of when I was in the second grade. The teacher asked all the class members to take out a sheet of paper and write down what they think "freedom" means. After everyone turned in their papers and the teacher browsed all of them, she said only one person defined freedom correctly: Yours truly. I said, "Freedom means doing whatever you want, as long as you take responsibility for your actions". Nobody remembers the last part.

In an academic or educational setting, when you are discussing freedom as a concept, failure to follow instructions would have been a valid response to the question. It would not have been contrarianism but an actual expression of free speech and actual freedom. Freedom, and the right to free speech, must confer the right *not* to speak, or follow a command given by an authority figure. Contrarianism would have required me to shout "No" or "I won't follow your instructions", whereas simply failing to follow orders would have been an expression of real freedom. There is a difference.

Was your grandfather German? The 88mm was a German Artillery gun. The Allies did not use that caliber. Also 'H' is the eighth letter in the alphabet. Many white supremacists in the USA have '88' tattoos. You know, Heil Hit73r. Scary stuff.

The Air Force became a separate military branch in 1947... after the war. Also, the German 88mm was a field artillery gun, like a howitzer. It was not capable of shooting at aircraft. It was only used against ground troops and structures. Then we have your google search of Gematria. You must have loved that Wikipedia said it was of Hebrew origin. Did that reinforce what you have been told? I would give you an 'D-'. I'd heard that you can buy ad space on certain videos, so some religious organisations are specifically putting their ads on anti-religious/atheist videos. I've also heard of this happening similarly for gay-positive videos aimed towards a teenage audience where they'll try to put "conversion therapy" style ads on them which is especially disturbing given how vulnerable teens tend to be.
The one I saw was advertising some site where you could “vote” to make sure “illegals” couldn’t … I forget what exactly. Breathe or live or get free stuff maybe.

My anti-vax neighbor's daughter just tested positive for COVID, forcing everyone in her class into quarantine. So, we get to home school our daughter, who is in her class, for the next 10 days. Second time this year. Glad to know her daughter's freedom to come to school sick is more important than my daughter's access to education.

Ive never seen it forced (where I used to live in the midwest). It was taught, since it is part of US history, but participating in reciting the pledge of allegiance was always optional after learning it in kindergarten. I have however heard stories of it being forced.
