The Unknown has a CRAZY potential! | Dead by Daylight 

In this showcase, we used the same ruleset that would apply to Killers such as Doctor, and the Unknown generally got very respectable results. With a bit of dedication, I genuinely think this Killer will be at least B-tier or even possibly low A-tier. But who knows, maybe he'll get some tweaks when he comes to live servers that will change everything!

The real unknown is why was the huntress buffed?

My favourite thing about the killer is the voice lines of its victims or it trying to mimick human speech, whichever it is

A solid B+ tier character, because he’s got two butts.

Kind of expected it. This killer has; - Anti-loop - Mobility - Projectile - Decently-Fast Power charge

Crazy? I was crazy once. They looked me in a Cowshed. A Fractured Cowshed. And that map makes me crazy

I think my favourite aspect of the new killer is the actual back and forth interaction between him and the survivors. You need to be active in getting rid of weaken and the killer needs proper technical skill in order to take advantage of his power. Just glad it’s not another “grab an item” or “interact with this box or station” type of power. Gives agency to both sides and actually promotes active gameplay rather than passive stall.

These are the types of chapter that I love, not many complaints, doesn't seem too annoying to go against/to play as, good map, good survivor and a creepy killer. They really did a good job on this one.

It looks really fun to play once you get used to the bouncing of his bomb, but it's so frustrating at first. I am looking forward to how unknown will feel later, because of that 😊

One of the clips they were using Face The Darkness, I wonder how good it would be alongside Device of Undisclosed Origin since any survivor within range of your Hallucinations will be Oblivious and could scream, interrupting the Dispel action and getting a free Weaken + preventing Survivors from easily removing your map mobility

It's hard to pick a favorite thing with this killer, but it has to be the fact that the counterplay is baked in naturally and isn't just "Pick up item -> Use item -> Killer no power for 90 years" like with Singularity and Alien who I wanted to love but it just felt so stupid being at a permanent disadvantage. I don't have the fear of being burned like I was with Singularity, here the killer seems like he'll just *work* in design making the complex trick shots fun and interesting vs tedious.

I would say a solid A tier around pyramid or huntress

He's definitely A tier for me. crazy anti loop, good map control and less map dependence. Best original chapter DBD ever had.

Started playing this game a month and a half ago, mostly because you managed to make me interested. First time i'm here for a new full chapter and by god, i'm hype as hell for Unknown to go live, can't wait!

it is really strong in chases only struggle is kinda finding survivors which has a solution 3 gen he can have enough teleports to 3 gen really well

It seemed like he was using the bounces a lot as a zoning tool. A few loops you can watch them shoot in a way to force the survivors to have to dodge either closer to the killer or push them towards places they could catch them in easier.

I think the skill expression is gonna show up later when Unknown mains get really consistent with dropping the power on gens from max distance. Ceiling bounces and V bounces could also be really potent if possible.

I have never played this game. Not for one second. I have no idea what’s going on half the time. However, I still watch your videos because you’re just that good as a content creator. I wish the games I played had creators who put in half the effort you do. Kudos, Otz. Keep it up, man 👌🏼

the purploe addon is like huntress' flight speed addons, you either use them or dont, there is no inbetween

normal skillcheck of the gen should be like the overcharge (perk) that if u leave the gen the skillcheck will remain on the screen

Admittedly, I haven't seen people hardcore grind this killer, but the showcase definitely enhanced my opinion of The Unknown. I do want to see how things play out when teams try to be more aggressive about dispelling the clones that he can teleport to. His mobility seems to be his greatest strength, but survivors can mitigate it. Sure, they can mitigate it at quite a risk to themselves, but I don't think I ever got to see how things might play out if teams tried that. If survivors end up struggling in dispelling the clones, this killer is definitely high B-tier or low A-tier with his ability to juggle and shut down certain loops.

I appreciate how the killer was actually roleplaying the unknown by playing as if he has a floppy broken neck constantly looking at the ground. The dedication to the role is admirable.

2:33 Stuff like this is stuff where this killer excels, and where I think a lot of his strength comes from. His ability to control groups of survivors and spread pain is almost unmatched. Most of the matches I won against very experienced survivors as this bastard were because I basically won two chases at once; one with his power and one as an M1. It's brutal.

It's been a while since Otz made so much content from a PTB, usually it's just a showcase and a survivor game againt the new killer until it goes live, it's clear how much he is having fun with him, which is great!

I think the killer should have an wind up animation play with sounds playing before he insta tps. This means that if a survivor is loopin him, they can see/hear him about to TP and react accordingly. Though I never played against or as the killer so idk

I like this killer alot, but I really wish they implemented a crawling mechanic for him like what we saw in the teasers. That would make him alot scarier. Also, maybe don't have him shoot pink bubblegum grenades at people. That might help too

My favorite perk to use face: hex the darkness

Great video! For me, the most puzzling aspect about the Unknown’s power is how to know when he will drop a clone which he can teleport to. I spent some time watching how the goo fills up, and this is what I’ve found: as of the PTB, the pink and yellow goo on the side of the screen will slowly fill over time. If you land a UVX shot, you will gain more of that goo at once. Once the goo on the side of the screen is next to the survivor icon that’s second from the top, the goo will start to rapidly fill up. Once it reaches the top, he will drop the clone, and the goo will drain back down. As far as his teleporting goes, when he drops a clone, that new clone will take five seconds to stand up (if other clones are on cooldown; I imagine the new clone won’t stand up unless the other clones are standing as well, but I couldn’t tell based on the video). When he teleports, all existing clones will kneel down. After about 25 seconds, they will stand back up and be ready to teleport again. Hopefully that helps! I don’t have access to the PTB, so there’s likely inaccuracies, since my tests are based on watching gameplay. (It also looks like the goo meter may not fill beyond that rapid fill up threshold when he’s near a hooked survivor, or for a few seconds after a teleport, but that’s been harder to determine from just watching gameplay videos). I hope BHVR finds a more clear way to display that information, but the power’s charge meter, and survivor icons are already occupied with other aspects of the Unknown’s power, so I’m not sure how else they’d represent it other than with the goo.

Honestly, I've been saying the same thing. If you can master the trajectory and mix up a playstyle of going for "aerial spitballs" (as I like to call them), hitting survivors on gens through walls, lobbing spitballs in chase, teleporting around the map to cause panic, and knowing how to play cover to avoid losing Weakened on the survivor your chasing, then I personally believe he's a high A-Tier killer. I haven't been playing against too many sweats on the PTB but whenever I do encounter an extremely sweaty swf they rarely stand a chance. I've even been getting consistent merciless matches against swf's with only aura reading perks, I can't even imagine how good he'd be with full gen regression builds.

they needed botany perks to heal off the hook. this is like hit and leave killers, ala wraith, over heal the pressure damage. no med kits you need the 2 perks, botany or the other 100% one. Plottwist+ unbreakable is another option to self heal. Hard to get aura/screams while on the ground.
